Chapter 366: The Confession

Chapter 366: The Confession

Piku gritted her teeth as she walked toward the Palace gate with her things. It was her first time living without Paku by her side, and it felt foreign. As she approached the exit, she saw Vicenzo talking to another knight.

Vicenzo felt a presence and turned to the side. He saw Piku staring at him with a suitcase. He immediately understood her decision and gave her a nod.

"S-sir," Piku muttered and looked down.

Vicenzo didn’t reply. He stepped aside and motioned the other knights to open the gate for her. That action brought tears to Piku’s eyes. She expected Vicenzo to talk to her.

Piku teared up while walking outside, but before she was out of Vicenzo’s sight. She turned around and shouted, "Sir! I love you!"

Vicenzo heard Piku but paid no attention and turned away from her. The other knights looked at Vicenzo with pity and jealousy that a she-wolf confessed her feelings.

Piku bit her lips to stop herself from breaking down. She was ashamed but proud that she had earned the courage to say what she felt. She already anticipated rejection from Vicenzo, making it less painful to bear.

"I will become rich in this pack. Mark my words, Paku. No matter what, I will become a noble," Piku promised as she looked at the sky. Vicenzo was not her only option when she decided to pursue financial security and status. She planned to expand her search since many nobles were visiting Sabrecrown Pack.

Piku clinched the money Vicenzo gave and decided to use it for her plan. "I’ll make sure I won’t experience it again," she muttered softly before entering Sabrecrown’s city. Her mind recalled what had happened to her back in the Mystic pack.

When Piku was taken by Cinzia due to a simple mistake. She realized her life has no value in the eyes of those of higher rank. While in the dungeon, she met and saw several omegas being held prisoners. They were skin and bones due to the lack of sunlight, food and dehydration.

That moment made Piku fear that her future would be the same as those prisoners. Life flashed into her eyes as she cried in the dungeon for hours. When the knights took her to Cinzia’s room, she expected to be scolded, but it was worst.

Piku was taken to the underground secret room, and the smell of blood instantly hit her nose. She wanted to fight back, but the two female knights were strong. She didn’t know why she was taken there, but she had a hint.

Facing Cinzia, the previous Queen, made Piku beg for her life, knowing what would be her purpose. She didn’t want to end up dying while Cinzia bathed with her blood, but that was when Felicia arrived on the scene.

"Felicia..." Piku muttered as she remembered a glimpse of memory. She finally recognized the person who tried to stop Cinzia but hadn’t heard of her by then. "Maybe, she died," she added with a sigh.

That experience motivated Piku to strive more and drop her dreams of finding her mate. She knew her mate would be an omega or anything below rank since no nobles would be mated to a mere servant.

"Isn’t it unfair, Moon Goddess," Piku muttered with disappointment as she walked on the difficult road to achieve her newfound ambitions.

At the same time, Felissa was staring at the Palace window overlooking Vicenzo and Piku. She frowned at hearing what Piku declared, but she didn’t care as long as Vicenzo wouldn’t react.

"My hard work is useless," Felicia stated with a sigh, indicating that Piku had turned into a disappointment.

"It’s alright. At least she’s alive," Felissa replied with a shrug. She didn’t care about Piku or Paku as long as they were not interfering with her life.

"Felissa, who are you talking to?" Rosina asked upon seeing Felissa having a conversation with herself.

"Ah! Your Ma— Rosina!" Felissa exclaimed while trying to cover Felicia from saying Rosina’s title.

"Are you feeling well?" Rosina asked and went beside Felissa. She overlooked the window and understood what her friend was looking at.

"Yes, of course," Felissa showed her pearly white teeth with a bright smile.

"Hmm, your parents will arrive tomorrow," Rosina informed while caressing her stomach.

Felissa’s eyes glanced to where Rosina’s hand was moving. "Are you giving birth soon?" she asked, observing how huge Rosina’s belly was.

"I think so," Rosina replied with a worried expression. "Since the war is over. I believe the other pack won’t do anything suspicious from now on. Maybe it’s finally time to announce my pregnancy," she added, glancing at Felissa.

"Yes, they will be delighted to hear that wonderful news. The throne will have an heir," Felissa said softly. Unconsciously, she touched her own belly as if she had a pup inside.

"You will be a wonderful mother," Rosina said, pinching Felissa’s cheeks.

"Ouch!" Felissa whined with a pout.

Both giggled before staring at the window silently while savoring each other’s presence. A lot has happened in their lives in the past years. Before, they lived their individual lives while suffering at the hands of those who were supposed to love them, but now, they would have their own family.

"I’m a bit thankful I attended the Mating Event before, or else I won’t be here in Sabrecrown and meeting wonderful people," Rosina muttered with a sigh of contentment. She remembered how she insisted on ignoring the invitation before.

"Hmm, about that. Where were you before?" Felissa tilted her head to the side. She never asked Rosina that question, and although there was much gossip surrounding Rosina’s history, it wasn’t confirmed.

Rosina flinched since she hadn’t told anyone she was sent to the human world and lived with them for years besides Vicenzo.

"Hmm, just around the corner," Rosina replied before striding toward the table. "Let’s have some tea for a bit," she added and gestured for Felissa to come.

"Okay," Felissa replied and went along.
