Chapter 358: The Sleeping Facade
After knowing Felissa went missing from the house, Vinicio immediately reported to Rosina and returned to the Palace with Idola. It caused chaos when Vicenzo knew what had happened, and the argument turned into a physical fight.
Since Vinicio was responsible for Felissa, he took every blow from Vicenzo and restrained himself from fighting back. If Draco didn’t interfere with the two men, one of them would surely die.
Currently, Vicenzo thought deeply while looking at Felissa’s unconscious form. They arrived at Sabrecrown after a few minutes since the pack was closer. His eyes couldn’t stay away from the clothes she wore, which were folded.
"Sir," Vinicio called out and went closer to him.
"Lord Vinicio," Vicenzo muttered and stared at him. The tension increased between them as they were left in a room together. They didn’t say a word after the greeting and sat on the opposite end.
Felissa’s bed was in the middle, her wound was already treated, and she wasn’t in a critical condition anymore. Although she was still unconscious, she could still hear her surrounding.
’Ugh, why is he here?’ Felissa snapped in her mind as she hated that Vicenzo was beside her. She wanted to be alone and rest well but couldn’t when she could smell his scent.
"Lady Felissa must have suffered a lot at the hands of a knight. The wound she attained was precise and hit her vital spot to kill her," Vinicio stated to create a conversation between them.
Vicenzo gritted his teeth. He glared at Vinicio with rage burning into his eyes. "What do you intend to say?" he stated.
"A body was found where your mother resides, a beast-looking form like a deformed wolf in a human body. I was the one who took it and placed it on the pile to be burnt. I’m saying that Lady Felissa and that beasts wore the same clothes," Vinicio explained without leaving his gaze from Vicenzo.
Vicenzo didn’t reply. He knew Vinicio was speaking the truth but couldn’t admit it.
"I would like to ask, Sir Vicenzo. Did you kill Lady Felissa—"Vinicio couldn’t continue his question when Vicenzo grabbed his collar and pushed him against the wall.
"You have the audacity to accuse me when you can’t even fulfil your role as her knight," Vicenzo grumbled with hatred before pushing Vinicio away. "Don’t spout nonsense in front of my mate again!" he shouted before turning his back to leave.
Vinicio sighed deeply to contain himself and glanced at Felissa. "I’m sorry, but I’ve tried my best to search for you," he stated before leaving the room.
That time, Felissa was utterly alone.
’What just happened?’ Felissa thought upon hearing the argument. She sighed in disappointment since her memories while Felicia was using the body were still blurry. She was waiting for her body to recover so those recollections would flood in clearly.
Days turned to weeks, and Felissa’s wound finally healed and regained strength, but she was still asleep. The Thetas thought she would be woken up, but it was the opposite. They concluded that there were deeper problems, but that wasn’t the case.
Felissa didn’t want to wake up. She regained the memories of what had happened while Felicia took over the body. It was so clear and precise, and that scared her.
’I-I’m not ready yet!’ Felissa thought while forcing her heartbeat to slow down so they wouldn’t suspect she was already awake.
It had been two days since Felissa was faking, which worried everyone. She didn’t know how to face them, knowing she f^cked up big time.
’Felicia! What have you done!’ Felissa thought as she wanted to strangle Felicia since she would be the one taking responsibility after everything that had happened.
Murmurs and footsteps echoed toward the room, which made Felissa continue her facade.
"She’s still unconscious?" a new familiar voice spoke to the Theta.
"Yes, we are checking her up later if there are problems in her internal organs," the Theta replied, leading the person toward Felissa.
"I see, thank you."
Felissa memorized the footsteps and voices of the people who generally visited her occasionally, but that was different.
"Hello Felissa, remember me? I am Lady Vanda," Vanda whispered and sat beside Felissa’s bed. "It’s a pity that the initial plan was not accomplished, but don’t be saddened since you are the reason why the Sabrecrown pack attacked the Mystic pack and won the war," she giggled.
"I know you don’t want useless bloodshed, but it happened. We can’t escape from it, but good news. I don’t think another war will be coming up since the New Monarchs secured their spot by showing how strong they are," Vanda said with a smile.
Felissa listened to Vanda’s words and was relieved that everything was alright.
Vanda glanced toward the Thetas around and leaned closer to Felissa’s ear. "Ah, I want to meet Felicia again. I like her attitude, but I guess she’s dozing inside you now."
Felissa’s finger flinched upon hearing Vanda’s words. She was surprised and nervous at the same time since she felt that Vanda knew what she was up to.
"Well, dear Lady Felissa, you can’t run away forever. I think it will be better to stop this act and open those eyes. Everyone is worried about you, and it’s rude to keep them from waiting," Vanda muttered before standing up from her seat and left.
Vanda’s words built guilt inside Felissa. She realized she had been thinking about herself most of the time without acknowledging everyone’s efforts toward her.
’Why am I like this?’ Felissa thought and grasped the bedsheets tightly. She breathed deeply before opening her eyes and was met with a bright light.
Felissa’s eyesight was still adjusting when she heard multiple screams around her and almost burst her eardrums.
"Ugh... shh," Felissa shushed them, but her voice was faint and barely audible.
"SHE’S AWAKE! CALL THEM! LADY FELISSA IS AWAKE!" the Thetas joyfully announced the news with delight since they would be doomed if they couldn’t cure her.
