Chapter 357: The Fade

Felicia lay cold in the grass as she bathed in her own blood. She heard their footsteps running away, leaving her there to die.

’Is this the end?’ Felicia thought as her eyelids got heavier with every passing second. A smile formed on her lips as she relaxed herself and gave in to the feeling. She was ready to sleep for eternity.

"Felissa, don’t be too hard on your mate," Felicia whispered one last time before she closed her eyes and felt her consciousness fade away.

The body’s system shut down, and the heart stopped pumping blood. She lay there as her body turned cold and her muscles became rigid.

Felissa was supposed to control the body again for them to breathe, but she refused after what had happened. She didn’t want to see or face Vicenzo after she got hurt by his words and actions.

In the dark void of their consciousness, Felicia and Felissa looked at one another.

"Why are you still here?" Felicia asked as her voice echoed in place.

"I don’t want to be there anymore," Felissa replied, turning her head to the side. She didn’t want to talk about their situation.

"If you stay here for long, we will die," Felicia gritted her teeth. She was pissed at Felissa’s current attitude.

"I would like to say the same," Felissa replied with an annoyed look.

"I don’t want to go out there. It’s your body, and I’m just part of you," Felicia explained, but Felissa was not listening.

"I am done! I don’t care anymore!" Felissa whined and threw her arms up like a child deprived of candy.

Felicia’s eyes twitched in annoyance. She wanted to smack Felissa, but it was also like hurting herself.

"Well, that depends on you, but if you won’t take over, both of us will die. How many times do I have to repeat myself?" Felicia’s voice rose in frustration. Deep inside, she partially blamed herself for not returning to her human form, which caused their misunderstanding with Vicenzo.

"Hmph!" Felissa crossed her arms and pouted. She knew she needed to return but didn’t know what to do.

"Please, Felissa. Your mate is waiting for you," Felicia whispered with a warm smile. She knew Vicenzo was searching for them and worried about their well-being.

"He killed us! He killed me!" Felissa screamed with tears bursting in her eyes.

"He’s searching for you. Go to him," Felicia ignored Felissa’s words as her body began to fade. She blended in with the darkness, but before she vanished, she spoke. "He loves you."

Felissa flinched at Felicia’s words, bringing a warm feeling into her chest. "Thank you," she whispered before looking up at the fading light.

"I’m ready," Felissa stated before the light consumed her soul.

"Don’t... be too hard on... your... mate," Felissa muttered Felicia’s last words as her eyes fluttered open, but instead of seeing the forest and trees, she saw a pile of dead bodies.

The sight made Felissa gasp in shock. That was enough to fully wake her up, but she was stuck when she tried to stand up. She was in that pile and was one of the dead.

Felissa’s waist below was covered by blooded, lifeless wolves. They were heavy, and she was weak due to her blood loss and wound.

"Ugh," Felissa groaned in pain when she tried to move. Her wolf helped her heal, but it wouldn’t heal entirely because it was a deep wound.

"H-help," Felissa mouthed those words, but no sound escaped her throat. She felt her body’s energy drained as she tried to survive.

A tear fell in her eye as she lay while looking at the moon above. She didn’t know what time it was, but orange clouds were forming in the sky.

"Pretty," Felissa whispered as she took a deep breath. Her eyelids slowly closed, and her body was about to slumber when she heard a familiar voice.

"Felissa? Felissa! Where are you?" Vicenzo shouted when he smelled Felissa’s scent after searching for many hours. He became desperate and was surprised that he could smell her in that area, which was the pile of dead wolves about to be burned.

Felissa opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. A smile appeared on her face, and she used her remaining strength to raise her hand in hopes that Vicenzo would see her.

"Sir! I saw her, Lady Felissa!" Vinicio shouted upon seeing Felissa’s hand. He immediately ran to the spot and saw that she was losing consciousness.

Vicenzo sprinted next to Vinicio and saw his mate’s pale skin.

"We need a Theta!" Vinicio exclaimed and ran to search for one while leaving Vicenzo alone.

"Fe-felissa?" Vicenzo whispered and saw how Felissaa’s arm dropped. His body trembled from the shock, and he hyperventilated.

"Sir Vicenzo," Vinicio patted Vicenzo’s shoulder and asked him to help remove the dead bodies from Felissa and set her free.

It took a few seconds before Felissa’s body was removed and placed on the ground with a clean cloth. The Thetas immediately tended to her wounds since she was on the verge of death.

"You finally found her. Although Rosina will be mad knowing how much injury Lady Felissa received," Draco stepped forward and sighed in relief that Felissa was found. He was the one who led the war after Rosina knew that her friend had escaped. He didn’t want his pregnant mate to suffer in another war since he wanted her to focus on her health. So he took matters into his own hands.

’Yes, Your Majesty," Vicenzo replied and lowered his head. He stared at Felissa’s face but felt he had seen her before due to her attire.

"Your Majesty, Sir, Lady Felissa have a huge wound in her stomach caused by a sword. She lost too much blood and needed instant care and medication," the Theta explained, since their equipment was insufficient.

"Go back to Sabrecrown. We will take care of the rest," Draco stated sternly toward Vicenzo and gestured for him to go.
