Chapter 350: The Scent of Death
Chapter 350: The Scent of Death
Felicia glanced over to the side where Paku was busy scrubbing the floor. They were in Cinzia’s room after they were called to clean the mess. There were tons of broken glasses and ceramic items scattered around the floor.
’I wonder what happened here,’ Felicia thought. She turned around the corner and saw a stain on the white tile. She used her cloth to wipe it clean and noticed the odd texture. The dried pigment coated her wet cloth in red.
Felicia’s eyes widened as she stared at it, but she didn’t say a word since Cinzia stared intently at them. She acted as if she saw nothing and continued her job. She was more worried about Paku instead.
The pressure inside the room was awkward and suffocating. Cinzia sipped her tea and glanced at Paku; she knew Piku was Paku’s twin but was far more beautiful.
Piku and Paku shared the same hair and eye colour, brunette. The difference between them was that Paku looked more muscular while Piku was feminine.
"Hmm," Cinzia hummed, breaking the room’s silence. This triggered Paku as she gritted her teeth to stop herself from attacking Cinzia. The pressure increased, and it was uncomfortable to stay any longer.
A knock on the door disturbed them, and Felicia was able to breathe in relief.
"Come in," Cinzia stated and placed her cup on the table, waiting for the visitor to arrive.
The door slowly opened, and a familiar figure entered the room.
"Ah, Lord Caj, welcome," Cinzia said brightly, gesturing for him to sit before her.
"Your Majesty," Caj bowed and glanced at the servants.
"Omegas, leave this room," Cinzia commanded sternly.
Paku and Felicia immediately stopped their work and went out of the room. As they walked passed Caj, Felicia couldn’t help but glared at him. She couldn’t forget how he used Vicenzo as their spy by force.
When they were outside, Paku grasped Felicia’s hand tightly. She looked at her and showed the cloth she had, which had dried blood stains as well.
Felicia pursed her lips and showed her cloth, which had the same ones as Paku. She put her index finger over her lips to silence Paku and dragged her out of the pack house as fast as possible.
It hadn’t been a day since she was hired as an omega in the Mystic pack, but a lot had happened. The moon shone brightly in the clear sky, making the place surreal, but Felicia couldn’t appreciate it.
Felicia brought Paku into the storage room and ensured no one was around. She grabbed Paku’s shoulder and made her look into her eyes.
"Paku, we need to save your twin tonight!" Felicia whispered sincerely.
"How? She will be brought to the pit. We should go there!" Paku sobbed and wiped her tears away. She became vulnerable to the thought of her sister dying, and she couldn’t do anything about it.
"I don’t think so," Felicia shook her head in disagreement. "She’s already dead if she’ll be in the pit," she added with a sigh.
"But what should we do? We can’t just enter the dungeon with knights around the area," Paku reasoned out since, in her mind, they were only an omega with no power to make any changes.
Felicia remained silent as she thought of a solution. "Paku, are you a v1rgin?" she asked earnestly.
"Huh? Why do you ask? That’s rude!" Paku yelled and stepped back. Her face was red from embarrassment.
"Just answer me. I don’t judge," Felicia raised both her arms to show that she was harmless.
"Tell me what it’s for?" Paku asked and turned to the side to avoid eye contact.
"Hmm, I want you to distract the knights with your body, and I will do the rest," Felicia smiled reassuringly and clasped her hand together.
Paku was shocked at Felicia’s plan. "How can you even save her?" she asked, her voice hinting with hesitation.
"I know you don’t trust me fully but think of it as my gratitude for helping me stop the war and keeping my identity safe," Felicia replied with a giggle.
"You agreed to my proposal?" Paku was shocked and breathed deeply in relief.
"Yes, and Piku is part of the agreement, right?" Felicia grabbed Paku’s hand and pressed it slightly.
"Yes," Paku looked down as tears streamed down her face. She saw hope that she could save her sister, but there was one thing she was curious about. "How will you save Piku?" she asked.
"That will be my problem, but I want you to trust me," Felicia replied with her signature smile that made everyone trust her words. She got it from Felissa’s skills.
"Okay, I will do my best," Paku stated with determination. She would do anything to save Piku from dying.
"Good. Now, go back to and prepare a seductive attire. I will notify you when to start our plan," Felicia stated before she went out the door.
Felicia’s eyes were burning with a desire to win. "Ah, finally, I can use it again," she whispered in bliss. She looked at the moon with a delightful smile. Instead of returning to the pack house, she went deeper into the forest.
Felicia sniffed around and followed a scent that led her to a tree. She extended her claws and started digging into the ground. After a while, she pulled the bag she had brought with her.
"I can feel the excitement in my blood! HAHA!" Felicia giggled, and her body shivered with adrenaline. She opened her bag and rummaged through her stuff. She took an item before burying her bag again, ensuring no one could find it.
After that, she composed herself and walked straight to the pack house.
"Cinzia, what are you hiding in that room?" Felicia muttered as her face twitched. When she was mopping the floor earlier where blood stains were found, she saw a tiny crack in one of the tiles, and a smell of death lingered in her nose for a second before it vanished.
