Chapter 346: The Piglet
Chapter 346: The Piglet
Felicia staggered backwards as she held her head. She felt dizzy and seemed like the world was spinning around her.
"Two days," Felicia whispered and laughed maniacally. She couldn’t believe that her time was shortened like that and partially blamed Vicenzo for only giving her a week.
"But, what can they do if I want more days? They can’t do sh^t," Felicia added before sitting down on the sofa. Her eyes gazed at the painting she had made. It was perfect, but she was losing the strength to move since she hadn’t eaten in two days. Her wolf supplied her body, but it had reached its limit.
Using all her strength left, Felicia stood up and went out the door to find something to eat when she saw Vinicio carrying Idola on his shoulder as they entered his room.
Felicia hid in the corner since she didn’t want to disturb them after what she had done. After they were gone, she went to the kitchen and drank a glass of water when her ears picked up a soft moan.
"Huh?" Felicia tilted her head in confusion but ignored them as she took a slice of bread and returned to her room. After filling her stomach, she removed the pendant from her neck.
"I should teleport tonight," Felicia whispered and took a deep breath before she drew blood from her finger. She placed it into the pendant and looked into the painting before imagining the place, but nothing happened.
"Huh? Why is it not working?" Felicia asked and wiggled the necklace in front of her. She put in more blood, but still, nothing happened.
Felicia crunched her nose and looked outside, where the moon shone brightly in the sky. Then, a thought crossed her mind.
Without hesitation, Felicia grabbed the empty cup and smashed it on the ground, shattering it to pieces. She took a part and stared at her palm.
Felicia’s breath ranged as she aimed to cut her wrist to draw more blood. Then her eyes glanced at the bag she had prepared in advance that contained all the stuff she needed. She grabbed it and secured everything before standing in front of the painting.
"You should work, bish!" Felicia grumbled aggressively before slashing her palm to create a deeper wound. Her blood splattered on the painting, but she didn’t care. She fisted her hand and made sure to drop more blood into the pendant.
"What the—"Felicia nearly cursed when she saw how the pendant sucked all her dripping blood. She didn’t know when to stop, but she kept giving more since she had thought that the farther she would teleport, the more blood needed as payment.
After a while, the pendant glowed before the floor opened and sucked Felicia inside.
"Ah!" Felicia screamed and braced herself for the impact. She was also a bit scared of what would happen when she arrived at the Mystic pack.
It didn’t take long before Felicia was thrown out of the portal. The first thing she saw was the moon gazing at her.
"Ouch, that hurts," Felicia whispered, scratching her back to ease the pain. She sat up and looked around.
’I’m in the forest, but which part?’ Felicia thought. She grabbed her stuff and hid behind the tree for safety. She opened her bag and grabbed a black ore to remove her scent if some wolves were lurking nearby.
’I need to move fast,’ Felicia muttered, sniffing the air. She wanted to locate the pack house as fast as she could.
Felicia started walking forward while heightening her senses in case someone was around. After a few minutes of strolling, she picked up murmurs from afar. She stopped walking and hid.
"I smelled a different scent earlier, but it vanished after a few seconds!" a voice yelled.
"Are you sure? I smelled nothing," another one replied.
"Let’s just search the area to be sure," a man with a grumpy voice spoke.
’Three men,’ Felicia thought before stepping back, but luck was not on her side. She stepped on a twig and created a ’snap’ sound.
"What’s that?" the man asked, and they began walking toward Felicia’s direction.
Without much choice, Felicia decided to run as fast as her feet could. By doing so, she made them know her location by the sound of her footsteps.
’Sh^t,’ Felicia cursed and changed location. She headed deeper into the forest, hoping they would stop chasing her.
"Someone is here!" the men shouted as they got closer to her.
Felicia looked back to check, but she tripped on her own foot. Her body slammed into the ground, and she broke her ankle in the process.
"Sh^t," Felicia groaned in pain and hurriedly crawled to the nearby tree to hide. She could feel the vibration on the ground as the men got closer to her.
’I f^cked up,’ Felicia thought while gritting her teeth. She hated her weak body that couldn’t even run properly, but she was not giving up that fast, unlike Felissa.
Felicia pushed herself further, but deep inside, she knew she would get caught if she couldn’t move fast enough.
That few seconds were a life-or-death situation for Felicia when something happened.
A pair of hands appeared in the darkness and pulled her swiftly forward, hiding her from plain sight. It didn’t take long when the men arrived and stopped in that area since they could no longer hear movements.
"Open your eyes. It must be a rogue or our members trying to get out of this pack!" the man shouted, and they scattered around the site.
On the other hand, Felicia was trying not to make a sound, but she couldn’t ignore the person covering her mouth that saved her life. She looked up and saw a black robe covering the person’s face.
The person nodded in acknowledgement and took something out of the basket. It was a piglet. The person let the pig walk away before assisting Felicia to stand up and stride back.
The men immediately heard the piglet’s footsteps, and they immediately followed, only to be disappointed.
"This stup^d pig!" the man shouted and chased the animal as it ran away from them.
"They must have lost that one," another one stated while shaking his head in amusement, but the third man was suspicious since it was odd that a piglet would appear out of nowhere, but he tagged along with his group.
The men went the opposite way from Felicia, which relieved her. The person who saved her let her go and was about to leave, but she stopped the person.
"Take me in," Felicia whispered with determination. She knew that the person wasn’t an enemy, and she needed someone she could use during her stay in the Mystic Pack.
The person didn’t say a word before gesturing for Felicia to follow her.
"Thank you," Felicia lowered her head in respect and followed the person silently. She didn’t want to talk while still in the forest since those men could find them by their voices.
Felicia noticed they were walking deeper into the forest, and the area started getting darker and darker. She stared at the person in front of her and noticed they were the same height.
After a while, Felicia saw a tiny house from the distance and a wide area of plantation. The place looked magical since the moon shone in that spot while darkness engulfed the surrounding.
"Is this your home?" Felicia asked softly and stopped walking.
The person slightly turned back and gestured for Felicia to come inside the house.
"I would like to introduce myself," Felicia stated, but her words were ignored as the person waited for her at the door and indicated for her to enter.
With hesitation, Felicia walked inside, and the house looked cozy. She immediately stood by the door and watched the person walk toward the fireplace and start burning some wood.
"Thank you for saving me back there. I meant no harm in this pack," Felicia explained since she knew the person knew she was not from the Mystic pack. She didn’t want to be rude and wanted to make friends.
The person stood up and removed the hood from her robe. It was a middle-aged woman. She smiled at Felicia and went closer to her.
"I am Gemma. Nice to meet you," Gemma introduced herself with a smile and took Felicia’s hand for a shake.
"I am Felicia," Felicia replied. She had used her real name since it was safer to use than Felissa.
"Hmm, let me get you some tea. It’s alright if you sleep in my house, but you can’t stay here for long since they might detect your scent," Gemma stated while preparing a bed for Felicia to sleep on. "Do you want some cookies as well?" she added.
"That would be great. I don’t plan on staying here for long. I just need to do something," Felicia replied and sat on the wooden chair.
"That’s good," Gemma replied and didn’t ask further, which made Felicia confused.
"Are you not going to ask why I’m here or why I entered this pack?" Felicia asked with a furrowed eyebrow.
"It’s none of my business, dear. I just want you to be safe since this pack has been chaotic for the past few weeks. It’s unsafe to get closer to the pack house or even the city," Gemma explained as she started boiling some water.
"Why?" Felicia got interested and wanted to hear more since the information she might get could help her get around the pack.
