Chapter 343: The Dumbfounded
Felicia sighed deeply. "I want to go to the Mystic pack. My mate’s mother is there, and I want to check on her. I also want to know what was going on there since the previous Queen resides in that pack," she explained with a furrowed eyebrow.
"Absolutely not, My Lady," Vinicio shook his head aggressively.
"I know it’s dangerous, but if I can attain some information from them—" Felicia’s explanation was cut off when Vinicio raised his hand to stop her.
"I think you’re taking it too lightly, Lady Felissa. If they caught you, you might not live another day, or they will use you as their pawn to forcefully let the Monarchs submit to them. There is a greater risk of you doing that plan," Vinicio explained, but Felicia was not taking his advice well.
Felicia shut her mouth because she didn’t want Vinicio to know about the power of the necklace. Without it, the plan would seem impossible to achieve.
"I understand. Now tell me. What is this place?" Felicia asked, shifting the topic away from her.
"This place... hah," Vinicio chuckled and rubbed his face. That time, he was frustrated since he couldn’t utter the words straight.
"Just tell me, Knight Vinicio," Felissa persuaded since she didn’t want to be in the position of not knowing everything.
"I’m not allowed to tell you this, but this place... is like a prison," Vinicio whispered and leaned into his intertwined hands.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Felicia’s eyes shook at what she just heard. She gasped while trying to take the information in her head.
"This place was created by Her Majesty as an optical illusion of living in a free world, but it’s a private place that no one can escape if they don’t access the gate. There’s only one entrance and exit in here," Vinicio sighed as he couldn’t afford to look Felicia in the eye.
It also bugged Vinicio that Rosina created that place as it formed an artificial world for the prisoners, but if you shift to another perspective, it was better than an actual prison in the pack.
Although, putting Felicia in there was not right.
"Then... why am I here?" Felicia asked herself as she tried to make sense of her situation.
"I don’t know about that, Lady Felissa. You can only answer that yourself," Vinicio stated and stood up. "Our conversation is over, and let’s go back in the house, Lady Felissa," he added, extending his hand toward her.
Felicia looked at him dumbfounded, but she went along with him. "Do you agree that Her Majesty created this place?" she asked.
"If it’s made to stop you from doing something unreasonable. Then my answer is yes, My Lady," Vinicio replied sternly, followed by a grumble.
Felicia pursed her lips into a tight smile and tilted her head toward Vinicio. "Tell me, have you ever been in the Mystic pack?" she asked softly.
Vinicio stared at her with a sigh. "Yes, I was there one time years ago," he replied since it wasn’t a big deal for him.
"Then, since I can’t escape this prison. Can you tell me what the Mystic pack look like?" Felicia asked and stopped walking.
Vinicio squinted his eyes and felt that Felicia was suspicious of asking that question when she wanted to go there in the first place.
"Knight Vinicio, It pains me that I can’t escape this place to help Her Majesty in the upcoming war, but at least tell me what it looks like?" Felicia pushed the topic. She tried to manipulate Vinicio to know where she would teleport into using the pendant.
Felicia weirded Vinicio out, and he knew she was trying to poach information from him, but he couldn’t understand how it would help her in any case. He concluded that it was a safe question to answer.
"The Mystic pack... You can say it’s a powerful one base on its rank—" Vinicio explained, but Felicia stopped her.
"I get it, but I’m asking about the uhh place, such as the pack house and the forest surrounding the area. What do they look like?" Felicia stated specifically.
"And what is your purpose for this information?" Vinicio asked and crossed his arms.
"I want to paint the place," Felicia stated with an innocent smile, which Felissa practised for most of her life.
Vinicio furrowed his eyebrows, but he believed in her. "Okay, I will try to remember as much as possible, but for now. Let’s return to the house before Idola panics," he chuckled.
"That traitor," Felicia commented and flicked her tongue.
"You don’t need to get angry with Idola. She’s only doing her job," Vinicio stated when he noticed Felicia’s facial expression.
"Alright," Felicia grumbled since she could understand that Idola had no power to say no to Rosina.
As they walked closer to the house. They saw Idola go out of the door with tears in her eyes.
"Lord!" Idola shouted as she was looking for Vinicio. She went to Felicia’s room and noticed that no one was around, and thinking that she had failed her job made her scared for her life.
"Idola!" Vinicio shouted and waved his hands, which caught Idola’s attention.
Idola almost buckled when she witnessed Felicia standing next to Vinicio. She ran towards them and knelt in front of Felicia.
"My Lady, where have you been? I’m searching everywhere for you," Idola stated, her heartbeat beating rapidly.
"Don’t worry, Idola. Who can run away from this place without getting caught, right?" Felicia stated sarcastically and glanced at Vinicio, whose face hardened from her words.
"Huh?... I- huh?" Idola was dumbfounded and blinked her eyes multiple times as she stood up. She didn’t know that place was a prison and thought it was just one of Rosina’s properties.
Felicia furrowed her eyebrows when she realized that Idola was clueless, which made her laugh since she now understood why Idola was very protective of her since, in her mind, her master could run away anytime.
