Alpha's Bite Between My Legs
Chapter 342: The Barrier

Chapter 342: The Barrier

Felicia was baffled at what had happened, but simultaneously, amazement swarmed her heart.

"This is finally it!" Felicia exclaimed and grasped the pendant tightly. She felt that she was saved from her troubles of going to the Mystic pack.

But Felicia’s smile vanished.

"But, how did I activate the power?" Felicia stated and sat back on the ground. She tried to remember what had happened before, and all her memory served her was she had gotten a wound.

With a furrowed eyebrow, Felicia bit her nail, making a wound deep enough to draw blood. She winched in pain and squeezed more blood out of her finger before putting it on the pendant.

"What now?" Felicia asked since nothing had happened.

"I- uhh, back to the house!" Felicia stated, but nothing had changed. She became frustrated while staring at the pendant intently. She sighed deeply before closing her eyes and thought about her room.

Immediately, a hole appeared underneath her b^tt, and she was thrown back into her room.

"Ouch! What the h^ck!" Felicia complained since her back ached even more from getting thrown twice. She groaned as she stood up from the cold floor.

"My Lady! Is everything alright?" Idola’s voice was heard outside, followed by a series of knocking.

Felicia put her hand over her mouth to stop herself from making any noise. She climbed over the bed, covered the pendant with the blanket and put the book at her side. She closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.

After a few seconds, the door creaked open, and Idola peeked inside. When she saw that Felicia was fast asleep, she sighed in relief and closed the door. She had heard voices in Felicia’s room, making her think something was occurring.

Felicia waited fifteen minutes to ensure that Idola was no longer there. What had happened made her confident that Idola was indeed keeping an eye on her.

"Oh, my goddess," Felicia whispered and opened her eyes. No one was in her room, but Idola’s scent faintly lingered in the air. She grabbed the pendant underneath the blanket to confirm it was still there.

’Is Rosina behind this?’ Felicia thought as she gritted her teeth. She knew Idola would never be that strict with her whereabouts before, but now, it changed.

Felicia sat up in the bed with a smile on her face. Even though she knew that Rosina was making her servants a spy. She was confident her plan wouldn’t be discovered because of the necklace.

"Tomorrow, I will start learning how to control you," Felicia whispered to the pendant before wearing it around her neck and putting it inside her clothes. She made herself comfortable in bed as she was about to take a good night’s sleep.

But little did Felicia know that someone was looking at her by the window.

The following day, Felicia stared at Idola, who was serving her breakfast. "Tell me, what’s your schedule for the whole day?" she asked with a smile.

"Schedule? I need to tend the house and your well-being, My Lady," Idola replied with a forced smile.

"I see. Did you have a good night’s sleep?" Felicia asked while putting butter on her toast.

Idola froze in her spot, and her hands visibly shook, but she tried to hide it. "I- Uh, yes, My Lady," she replied and turned her back, acting as if she was doing something to avoid Felicia’s eye contact.

"That’s great. I didn’t sleep well last night since there have been bugs coming to my room in the middle of the night," Felicia stated nonchalantly as she ate her food.

Idola snapped her head into her master, but Felicia’s facial expression was delighted at the delicious food she was eating. No hint of sarcasm on her face.

"Ah... I will check your room later to see if the bugs are still there," Idola stated awkwardly as she stood by the corner.

Felicia smiled and didn’t reply. After eating, she returned to her room and locked the door. She didn’t need to go outside for them to follow her.

"Now, let’s get to practice," Felicia whispered, taking out the necklace. She made a wound in her finger and placed it on the pendant, which started to glow.

Felicia closed his eyes and imagined the bench in the garden. She prepared herself as the hole swallowed her and threw her off outside. When she opened her eyes, she was back on the bench.

"Yes!" Felicia exclaimed in delight as she laughed wholeheartedly. She had finally known how to trigger the necklace but was kinda creep out by the blood required for payment. That made her wonder if Rosina hurt herself most of the time to trigger the necklace’s power.

"Oh, well," Felicia shrugged the thought and looked back at the house. She could see Idola’s figure washing the dishes in the kitchen. She smiled timidly before walking to the deeper part of the forest.

"The packs are connected by forests. I need to get out of this area," Felicia stated as she walked along. She had expected to find a road or nearby houses, but they were all trees, and the more she walked, she saw something from afar.

"Huh?" Felicia’s eyes widened when she saw a metal barrier around the area. "What the h^ck is this?" she added and hid behind a tree.

Felicia crouched down and put her palm on the ground to feel any vibration or movement. She needed to clarify if there was a knight or guard around her. It took her a while, but when she sensed that everything was fine, she went closer to the barrier.

"Why will they put a barrier here? This looks like a fence to keep something out... or in," Felicia muttered as her breath raged. She didn’t know what to expect if she moved further, but her gut feeling told her to stop.

Felicia took a step back, and when she turned around, she came face to face with Vinicio.

"My Lady, what are you doing in this area?" Vinicio asked while walking toward her. His eyes were glaring daggers, and his face was stern.

"Vinicio... where are we?" Felicia asked with worry in her voice. She never had felt that kind of fear in her life.

"My Lady, let’s go back in the house," Vinicio stated calmly as he took a deep breath. He extended his arm for Felicia to grab.

"No, I want to know where we are and what this place is," Felicia demanded as she stepped back, but she was trapped between Vinicio and the fenced barrier.

Vinicio stopped moving, looked at Felicia in the eye, and saw the determination to know the truth. "There’s nothing wrong with this place, Lady, but you must come with me first, and I will tell you everything you need to know. Besides, I have something to propose to you," he stated and stepped back to let Felicia walk ahead.

Felicia was reluctant but went along with him since she wanted to know the truth. She had expected they would return to the house, but Vinicio led her to the other side of the forest, where there was an old bonfire.

"Please, have a seat," Vinicio stated and gestured toward the logs around the bonfire. He gathered sticks, wood and dried leaves around them and put them all in the middle. Then he started a fire.

"Tell me everything," Felicia stated sternly and watched Vinicio’s movement.

"Before I tell you. I want to hear what you plan to do," Vinicio stated while pushing the woods together to let them burn more.

Felicia scoffed and rolled her eyes. "No, I know what you’re doing. You’ll want to squeeze all information about my agendas and lied to me afterwards," she stated with pure rage in her voice.

"You’re overthinking, Lady Felissa. You don’t have to project your way into me. I am an honest man, and I want something in return," Vinicio stated and looked at Felicia.

Both of them remained silent as Felicia weighed the pros and cons of her next move. Then, she sat up straight after a while and stared at the flames.

"I don’t mean any harm. Her Majesty, Rosina... is a dear friend of mine, and I want to help her even if it’s little. I know you knew that the enemies are starting to move to attack the Palace, right?" Felicia stated with her voice rising. She leaned closer to Vinicio to stare at his reaction.

"Yes, I know what you mean, but it’s dangerous for you to get involved in this kind of situation," Vinicio sighed and explained the reality to Felicia. He didn’t want her entangled since he knew the outcome if she went to the wrong side of the war.

"I know, but I’m not going to fight them face-to-face! That’s too much for me!" Felicia waved her hands in front of her as she shook her head.

"Then, what are you planning?" Vinicio asked in curiosity as he got interested in what Felicia would say.

"If I tell you, do you promise to keep it a secret? I’m giving you information, and I expected you to be accountable for it," Felicia said, crossing her arms. She didn’t fully trust Vinicio, but she was trying to find someone she could count on since she knew Idola was spying on her.

"I promise to keep it a secret, but I can’t guarantee to let you do something risky since I am responsible for your safety," Vinicio replied as they got into their deal.
