Chapter 341: The Pendant’s Hole
It had been two days since Felicia had arrived at her new temporary home. She had observed Vinicio and Idola’s movements and schedules while acting normally.
Currently, Felicia was having lunch in the kitchen, and Idola was serving her food. She glanced at her servant, who was smiling while watching her eat. She had also noticed that Idola had followed her wherever she went, even if she took a sh^t.
’Is she spying on me?’ Felicia thought while eating a piece of meat. Her eyes glided toward the window where Vinicio’s body was seen guarding the door.
They were in a remote area where houses were distant from one another. The place was surrounded by plants, and the breeze was nice. It was a peaceful place to stay and enjoy, but it was quite dull if you were into city life.
"Is there something you need, My Lady?" Idola asked and stepped forward when she saw Felicia staring into space.
"No, thank you," Felicia replied and continued eating. Even though she was alone and away from civilization, she felt like there was a shackle attached to her neck, and no matter how much she wanted to let go, she couldn’t.
After eating, Felicia stood up and wiped her mouth clean. "I would like to check the garden. The flowers are blooming beautifully," she stated and went ahead. She glanced at Idola, who had panicked since she needed to tend to the dishes and accompany Felicia simultaneously.
"Oh, you can stay here and finish the chores, Idola. You don’t need to come along," Felicia stated with a smile before grabbing a basket used to store-picked flowers.
"But... my Lady," Idola pursed her lips since she wanted to say something but chose not to.
"Is there something wrong, Idola?" Felicia asked, and Idola shook her head violently.
"Nothing, my Lady," Idola stated with a forced smile before scurrying to clean the plates.
Felicia used the time to get ahead. She planned to look around the area in preparation for her plan. She wanted to know which part was best to hide if she went away.
When Felicia opened the door and stepped outside, Vinicio followed her from behind. She stopped walking and looked at him.
"No need to follow me, Knight Vinicio. I’m just picking flowers in the garden," Felicia stated nicely, but Vinicio was not moving away.
"It’s my duty to protect you, My Lady, and you can call me by my name," Vinicio stated and bowed at her.
Felicia turned around and gritted her teeth. She was annoyed but couldn’t do anything to make him stop. She slowly went to the garden at the back of the house. The area was vast and beautiful that she could read a book and nap in peace.
But Felicia couldn’t enjoy the scenery when she had a mission in mind. She walked toward the bushes blooming with different flowers. She started picking the petals, but her eyes were roaming in front of her where trees were growing.
Then Felicia proceeded to the following location. She did that until she had occupied most spaces, and all that was left to do was go deeper. She looked behind and saw Vinicio standing not far from her. His eyes were not leaving her even a single second.
’Why are they acting as if I’m about to do something stupid,’ Felicia thought and rolled her eyes, which made her realize something. She assumed that she successfully manipulated Rosina and Vicenzo into thinking she wanted some alone time, but based on the events that happened too fast.
Felicia had concluded that Rosina had been suspecting her the whole time when her character suddenly changed in a single night.
"Sh^t!" Felicia cursed and slapped her cheeks since she wasn’t careful enough. "Okay, I can’t back down yet. I already started this," she added in a whisper.
Felicia looked behind once again to check on Vinicio, and he was still looking at her like a predator. She smiled and gestured for him to come near her.
"I would like to have some tea on this bench. Can you bring me some?" Felicia stated before sitting down and placing the basket on her side.
Vinicio looked back at the house, they were quite far, but he couldn’t say no to Felicia. "My Lady, we’ll have to wait for Idola to come here so I won’t have to leave you alone," he stated.
"Vinicio, I’m no longer a kid," Felicia stated with a smile.
Both looked into each other’s eyes as Vinicio contemplated what he would do. After a few seconds, he lowered his head.
"I will be back, but please, don’t stray too far from this place," Vinicio stated sternly.
"Yes, of course," Felicia nodded her head.
"Okay," Vinicio replied before looking at Felicia one more time before running toward the house.
Felicia ensured that Vinicio was out of sight before sprinting toward the deeper part of the forest.
The more she went deeper, the place became dark and musty, but Felicia didn’t care. As she ran, she looked around to find something worthwhile and didn’t realize a root was in front of her.
Felicia’s tripped on the tree root and fell to the ground, but she was able to use her hand to cover her face. She didn’t want to be covered in dirt that would make Vinicio suspicious of her.
"Sh^t! Why is everything so hard!" Felicia stated in frustration. She sighed deeply as she stood and patted her clothes to remove the dirt. She checked herself and nodded with relief that her clothes remained clean.
"This place! All I can see are d@mn trees," Felicia stated in annoyance since she was expecting something more, such as caves or old abandoned houses, that she could use to hide from her servants.
Felicia bit her finger and returned to the bench since Vinicio might return soon. She sprinted as fast as she could and was delighted that Vinicio was nowhere in sight. She sat down and started playing with the flowers as a facade.
After a while, Vinicio came back with Idola. They were carrying tea and biscuits for her to eat.
"My Lady, we’ve arrived. I apologize if it took a while since I was making these biscuits. They’re still warm," Idola exclaimed with pride in her voice. She offered the biscuits, and it smelled too good.
"Thank you, please, join me," Idola stated, gesturing for them to sit and eat with her.
"No, we’re not allowed," Idola waved her hand in shock.
"I insist," Felicia stated and tapped on the bench. She smiled as she watched Idola and Vinicio sit in front of her.
Idola began unwrapping the basket to take out the food.
Felicia glanced toward Vinicio and saw him looking down at her shoes. She followed his gaze and saw dirt covering her soles. She immediately hid her feet and acted as if nothing had happened.
’Should I just kill them both?’ Felicia thought as she sipped her tea. She felt it was harder to move when she needed to be careful not to get caught.
That idea made Felicia excited, but she shook her head to remove it from her head. ’Felissa’s reputation will be tainted,’ she thought.
All that time, Vinicio didn’t say a word for the rest of the day.
When the night came, Felicia got out of bed, opened her bedside cabinet, and pulled out a book. She opened it, and Rosina’s necklace was found inside.
"Let’s see if you’re really useful to me," Felicia said, looking at the pendant. She stared at it for several minutes but didn’t know what to do.
"Ah! I forgot how to use this! Lady Vanda didn’t give any instructions either!" Felicia exclaimed in frustration and threw the pendant back on the book she had torn apart to create a space to hide the item.
Felicia scratched her finger on the page by doing so, creating a small sliced wound. Blood slowly dripped from the skin and dropped on the pendant before she sucked her finger.
"Ouch!" Felicia stated and licked the wound that healed after a few seconds. She was about to close the book and sleep when she saw the pendant glowing a little.
With curiosity, Felicia took the necklace, and immediately, the bed opened into a portal, and she was swallowed inside. She was screaming in shock and fear when seeing the hole closed up above her.
Felicia didn’t know where it would take her, and she felt her body getting thrown out. She landed on a hard ground with a loud stud.
"Ah! That hurts!" Felicia exclaimed and touched her broken back. When she opened her eyes, she was outside the house, and the moon shone brightly in the sky. She hurriedly sat up, looked around, and noticed she was back on the garden’s bench.
"Oh. my goddess. Did I just unlock its powers?" Felicia exclaimed in amazement, looking at the pendant in her hand. The glow vanished, and it went back to normal.
