Chapter 326: The Doll To Control

Felissa and Vicenzo entered the pack house, and the members all looked at them with surprise. It took a few minutes before Felissa convinced them to keep their mouth shut from mind-linking her parents.

They were currently walking toward Alpha Aroldo’s bedroom, Felissa’s father.

"Are you ready?" Felissa asked when they reached the door. She looked at Vicenzo nervously, and cold sweat formed on her forehead. She was nervous about introducing Vicenzo but wasn’t ready to face her father’s condition. Based on her mother’s mind-link, Aroldo was in a terrible state and was closer to his deathbed.

"I am," Vicenzo replied with a tight smile. He was worried but didn’t want to show it to Felissa. He also noticed her nervousness and discomfort based on her facial expressions. Unconsciously, he pulled her into a tight hug. "Don’t worry too much, no matter what happens. I will be here for you," he added.

Felissa felt her chest lighten and breathed a sigh of relief, and she hugged Vicenzo back. "Thank you," she replied.

Both of them stood for a few seconds and slowly opened the door, but before it was fully opened, they heard a series of laughter.

Felissa paused and looked at Vicenzo, who was also looking at her.

"Hahaha! Ah! It’s good that you arrived here at our pack. We expect your arrival," Renata’s voice echoed, and her words struck Felissa’s head.

Felissa immediately closed the door and put her ears on the surface to eavesdrop on her parent’s conversation. She could feel her heart beating loudly and wished it was not what she was thinking.

"What are you doing?" Vicenzo whispered in confusion. He didn’t understand what was happening but felt it was bad news.

Felissa put her index finger on her lips to hush him and gestured to follow her action. Vicenzo complied and put his ears on the door surface, enhancing his hearing.

"I am delighted to receive a letter from you, Alpha and Luna Nucci," a familiar voice spoke.

"...Fabio," Felissa muttered, and that was enough for her to burst the door open and see Fabio sitting across from her parents, who were smiling widely.

"What do you think you’re doing!?" Felissa yelled with her eyes widened in anger. She wasn’t able to control her emotions since she knew what the visit meant.

"Ah! My dear, you didn’t notify us of your arrival!" Renata exclaimed and stood up quickly, covering Aroldo’s body to hide him.

Felissa glared at her mother and then moved her gaze toward Fabio, who acted as if he was innocent.

"Father, don’t tell me you’re involved in this!" Felissa stated firmly, moved to the side, and saw Aroldo hiding the liquor he had been drinking behind the sofa.

"Oh, daughter. We just wanted to talk to Lord Fabio," Aroldo stated awkwardly and couldn’t look straight into Felissa’s eyes.

Felissa opened her mouth to speak, but no words were heard. She couldn’t believe what she had seen. Her father’s face was clear with no hint of sickness, and his skin was glowing instead; overall, he had a better complexion than before, as if he wasn’t sick in the first place.

That made Felissa confused since she was told her father was dying, only to see him well and even drinking an alcoholic drink.

"I don’t want to destroy the family reunion. So I will take my leave," Fabio stated and stood up, but Felissa stopped him with one glare.

"Since you’re all here. I have something to discuss," Felissa stated firmly in a raised tone. She was angry but tried her best to control her emotions.

"What is it, dear?" Renata asked softly. They were shocked at Felissa’s arrival that they couldn’t prepare themselves and were nervous about the outcome.

Felissa didn’t reply and went to the door where Vicenzo stood with furrowed eyebrows. He was raging inside that Fabio had the guts to enter the Midnight pack after he had been exposed to his intentions.

"I found my mate, and we will get married tomorrow," Felissa said, pulling Vicenzo with her. He was shocked by her statement but couldn’t react to her sentence since he needed to prepare himself for the introduction.

Vicenzo looked at Felissa’s parents, who were shocked to see him.

"Oh, Sir Vicenzo?" Fabio stated with an amused voice. He was surprised since he was there when Vicenzo kept ignoring and rejecting Felissa during the Mating Event.

Vicenzo ignored Fabio and lowered his head to Felissa’s parents as a sign of respect.

"Hello, Alpha and Luna Nucci. I am Vicenzo Luro, a knight," Vicenzo introduced himself firmly and stood up straight to show his dominance.

Aroldo and Renata had their mouth wide open while looking up at Vicenzo since he was taller than them. Then, they looked at one another with a troubled look.

"My dear, let’s go to the other room and talk," Aroldo stated softly to prevent chaos, but Renata had other plans.

"Is this what we taught you all these years? Of all the decent men in the entire Werewolf realm, you picked a common knight!?" Renata shouted in disbelief and looked at Vicenzo with disgust.

"Mother! My mate is chosen by the Moon Goddess—" Felissa tried to reason out, but she was cut off.

"Nonsense! We can choose a wolf to marry! You are being brainwashed by that awful Queen!" Renata added with an excessive gasp to show her dissatisfaction. She didn’t like Rosina after all.

"Don’t talk like that to my friend," Felissa practically shook while controlling her emotions. She always hated if her loved ones were being trashed by another, even if it was her mother.

"Look at our daughter! She never talked back to us before, but now she did!" Renata looked at Aroldo and complained.

Aroldo opened his mouth to reply, but he just looked down in the end, and that action made Felissa disappointed in him. She thought her father was on her side, but it was a mistake.

"You’re a disappointment, Felissa! How disgraceful! Your father and I won’t approve of your marriage with this.... commoner! You will be married to Lord Fabio at once! That’s our final decision! Now, go to your room!" Renata shouted and pointed at the door.

Everyone in the room stayed silent and focused on Felissa, who had her head down.

"Tell me, you were lying when you said that father is dying and his condition worsens," Felissa muttered and fisted her fists together.

"We are your parents. We never lie!" Renata shouted with anger.

"Felissa," Vicenzo grabbed Felissa’s hand to comfort her, but when Renata saw that action, she immediately went toward them and pushed Vicenzo away, causing him to lose balance and fall backwards.

"Mother!" Felissa shouted and was about to go beside Vicenzo when she was yanked back by Renata.

"Stop it! Behave!" Renata dragged Felissa away from Vicenzo and took a white pill from a pouch. "Eat this and become a good girl!" she added.

Felissa’s mind was in chaos and disarray. She looked at the pills and noticed they were the same ones she had taken if she couldn’t control herself and became a different person.

"Is this the way you control me, mother?" Felissa stated angrily as she realized that those pills did nothing but make her a puppet to her parents, a doll to control.
