Chapter 323: The Surrender and Freedom
Everyone remained silent since their mission was finally over. Caj had Cinzia on his back.
"Now, give me, Lady Felissa," Rosina stated and opened her palms toward Caj, whose eyes were struck into his sister.
"No, I will give Lady Felissa to you in exchange for my sister," Caj stated firmly.
"Ah, that seems unfair on my side," Rosina giggled and looked at Caj with disappointment.
"Lady Felissa is important to you, correct? Then her value is doubled. Now, give me my sister," Caj demanded. He was trying his best to get the best possible outcome for him.
"I give up then," Rosina raised both hands in surrender, making Trice’s body fall to the ground.
"Trice!" Caj shouted and was about to run toward his sister when a loud growl echoed in the forest.
A gigantic wolf emerged from the bush and sprinted faster than the wind toward them. The wolf had long grey fur that glided in the air. It tackled the other wolves nearby to get closer to Caj.
"What the heck!" Caj cursed and stepped back to prepare himself. He drew out his sword and aimed it toward the wolf when it attacked the two wolves holding Felissa.
"Vicenzo!" Caj shouted when he realized who it was, but it was too late.
Vincenzo’s wolf grabbed Felissa by his mouth and ran behind Rosina toward the 13th pack to keep Felissa away from danger.
"What are you doing? Catch him!" Caj commanded his men, but they couldn’t move.
A couple of skeleton hands appeared from the ground and grabbed the men’s feet, which made them unable to move from their spot.
Seeing that, Caj stared at Rosina, who had a wide grin on her face.
"I admire your determination, Lord Caj, but you can’t defeat me. I will await your next move," Rosina stated playfully before raising her hand, which made a skeleton barrier appeared and covered the entire 13th pack.
"I will not lose to you!" Caj screamed in rage until he could no longer see them on the other side.
"I suggest you and your men run, or you will die," Rosina’s faint voice was heard. After she warned, the undead arose from the ground and made their way up.
Caj and his men gasped in fear since they faced an unknown enemy that they hadn’t fought before. That was enough to make them rethink their life choices that could save them from death.
"What are you all doing!? Fight them!" Cinzia shouted and clung behind Caj in desperation to stay alive. She didn’t care about those men and wanted to use them to buy time for escape.
Caj stared at Cinzia with blazing eyes. He disliked what she had said.
"Men, don’t bother fighting those monsters. Round up and escape on the other side," Caj commanded, and his men followed him. He was about to move, but Cinzia pulled him back.
"What about me!?" Cinzia shouted and pointed at herself with wide eyes. She thought they would sacrifice themselves for her.
"I think it’s time for you to run, Your Majesty," Caj replied sarcastically before running away quickly since the undead was getting closer to them.
"Wait!" Cinzia called out, but her voice was ignored. She was still in silver chains, which made it hard for her to run with them. "Tsk! That low-life really left me here!" she grumbled before trying to move as fast as she could.
On the other side, Rosina was snickering. Those undead that she operated were just a display to scare them off. They were not suited for a battle.
"Finally," Rosina breathed in relief, knowing it would be peaceful for a couple of days. She glanced down and looked at Trice’s unconscious body.
"I pity you, Lady Trice. It seems like your brother doesn’t care about you," Rosina crouched and whispered those words to add fuel to the fire.
Trice was hurt by Caj’s decision. Even though she knew how important Cinzia was on Caj’s mission, it still hurt her. She realized that her life was nothing in their family. After she was used to stop the new Monarch’s coronation day, which turned into a failure, her reputation was damaged.
Trice became known as a sl^t in the entire realm.
"But be glad. You won’t remain here in the 13th pack. After all, you’re a pest in my eyes," Rosina stated before flicking her finger, turning Trice into an orb. She created another portal of black smoke and tossed Trice inside without care.
Rosina could still remember what had happened on her coronation day as it was supposed to be a memorable and joyful day of her life, only to be ruined by them.
"My Queen," the man stated with his head lowered. He was one of the warriors that guarded Cinzia. He had concern all over his face.
"Don’t worry, it will be fine," Rosina replied with a smirk before walking back to the Castle and meeting Vicenzo and Felissa. When she arrived, she saw them sitting on the pavilion.
"Your Majesty!" Vicenzo stood up and lowered his head. He was naked, with only a thin layer of cloth covering his manhood, which was ripped from Felissa’s skirt. "I apologize for what happened today. It’s my mistake!" he screamed.
Felissa could feel Vicenzo’s guilt coming from his pores. "You don’t have to overthink. You saved Felissa from them, and that’s enough, but it damages their trust in you as their spy," she stated and crossed her arms.
"Ah... yes," Vicenzo muttered, his shoulders slumped together in defeat since he didn’t think of any consequences before taking action.
"Rosina, what will happen now?" Felissa asked because she feared another war would erupt since Cinzia was finally free.
"Well, we’re going to wait for them to move... I guess," Rosina shrugged and sat next to them.
"Your Majesty, we should work for different plans to counter their attacks. It won’t take long," Vicenzo stated firmly. He didn’t want to destroy the current peace in the pack and would do everything for a better future for himself and his future family with Felissa.
