Chapter 30: The Greco’s Condition
Chapter 30: The Greco’s Condition
Their carriage stopped in front of the Palace. Rosina thought they would go to Draco’s place, but she was wrong. They went down and entered the palace gate since the guards were already notified of their arrival.
"Alpha and Luna Greco of Palecrest pack," a young man dressed in a black suit greeted them at the entrance. "I’m Ferro Lucchesi, the third Prince butler. Please follow me."
Rosina’s parents looked confused at the sudden involvement of the Prince since they didn’t know that he was the one who mated Rosina. All they learned was they needed to be presented to the Monarchy for the approval and blessings to the wedding.
Cleto glanced and glared back at Rosina, but she didn’t mind him. Rosina continued walking, and they arrived at a giant golden door.
Ferro knocked twice and presented their names. "Your Highness, they have arrived," he opened the door and stepped to the side to give space for the Greco family to enter.
Cleto grumbled before entering the room while Natale smiled at Ferro and followed her husband.
Rosina looked at Ferro and realized that his scent was there when she was in the cabin. She smiled and bowed a little before going inside the room.
Rosina was amazed at the place’s interior design, especially since the room was painted black and gold.
"Third Prince, you had called for us?" Cleto stated and cleared his throat.
The royal chair behind the table was facing the back. Many papers and documents were scattered on the table, and a fancy black candle lit on the side gave a rosy scent.
Rosina glanced around the room. It looked like no one was around, but Draco’s scent lingered in the air, which meant he was there.
"I see you have arrived, Alpha Greco," Draco’s stated and turned the chair around and faced them with a huge smile.
"Your highness," they stated and bowed in respect since he was in a higher position.
"You might be confused why I called you here in my office, but first, have a seat," Draco stated and gestured toward the sofa in front of them. He stood up and sat on the other side, while the Greco family at the opposite.
"Your highness, did my daughter cause trouble during her stay?" Natale whispered nervously. She was nervous that they would get punished or pay an amount for what Rosina might have done.
Draco smiled before taking out a piece of paper and placing it in front of Cleto since he was the Alpha.
"You see, your daughter became my mate, but before, I will take her with me. I have conditions set to be approved by you as her parents," Draco stated and crossed his legs. His dominance radiated out of his body and consumed Cleto. After all, both of them held power.
When they heard that Draco was Rosina’s mate. They looked at her in surprise and disbelief. They didn’t expect that Rosina would get someone with a higher rank than them.
"Your highness, Prince Draco, are you certain this girl is your mate?" Cleto stated. He chuckled while shaking his head with amusement.
"Are you questioning my choice, Alpha Greco?" Draco’s voice deepened as he hinted at how Rosina was treated by her parents. "She’s a fine and lovely woman."
"Prince Draco, I do not intend to offend you, but Rosina is weak and couldn’t handle herself very well. She might become a burden to you and your place on the throne," Cleto was delighted that Rosina had gotten herself a mate, but having a Prince as her partner meant they would be connected to the Palace. Supported the Prince if he decided to join the war for the Crown.
Draco’s brow raised upon hearing what Cleto had stated. His eyes glanced at Rosina, who was sitting quietly on the side. He never saw Rosina as a weak wolf but rather a strong one.
"Oh really?" Draco said and chuckled. He was trying to stop himself from laughing since it would be inappropriate in that situation.
"Yes, I hope you will consider this, You highness," Cleto stated and glared at Rosina, who was trying to act friendly.
"Well, Alpha Greco. I have decided that Rosina will be my mate. Read my conditions, and we’ll get over this," Draco forced a smile and slid an ink for them to sign.
"My conditions are simple. Lady Rosina will stay here in my care until the day of our marriage. It would depend on her if she decided to visit you. I don’t want unexpected visits; if you want to see your daughter, send a letter a week in advance since we need to decide if we should accept it or not," Draco stated firmly, making sure his words were clear. At the same time, he was observing Cleto’s facial expression at his words.
"Of course, the dowry will be given before the wedding, but..." Draco paused, and his eyes went to Rosina. "I don’t want you to attend our wedding."
"What!?" Natale exclaimed in shock. She immediately looked at her daughter for any reaction, but Rosina stayed calm and composed. "This is madness. Why would you prevent us from attending our daughter’s wedding!?"
"Shut up, Natale!" Cleto yelled since he got irritated at Natale’s loud voice while thinking. Natale immediately closed her mouth and grabbed Rosina’s hand with a thought that would comfort her daughter, but Rosina slowly removed her hand.
"Those are my conditions. If you disagree, I won’t give you the dowry," Draco smirked and rubbed his chin while waiting for Cleto’s answer.
"The dowry, how much is it?" Cleto muttered while gritting his teeth.
"Enough for you to survive for fifty years and can accumulate to your son’s dowry for his mate," Draco answered, and it was enough for Cleto to compromise.
Cleto sighed, took the ink, and signed the paper with his name and thumbprint. He slid the piece toward Natale, but she shook her head.
"I want to attend my daughter’s wedding!" Natale shouted in frustration that her husband agreed to the conditions because of the money.
Draco was about to speak when Rosina stood up. Gaining their attention toward her. She walked ahead and stood at the back of Draco’s chair.
"Mother, please don’t make trouble and agree with the conditions. After all, I don’t want all of you there at my wedding. I appreciate you forgetting that you have a daughter just like you acted before." Rosina said nonchalantly. She didn’t act fearful or kind since she won’t be seeing them again.
