Chapter 298: The Pack News
The following day, Felissa walked toward Rosina’s office carrying a book she had bought. Behind her was Vicenzo striding slowly to match her phase.
Felissa didn’t say many words, and her energy deflated from what had happened, but most of all, she saw Fabio back in the pack and would probably deal with him again.
"Your Majesty," Felissa whispered behind the door to notify her presence since Silvio was nowhere to be seen.
"Come in," Rosina replied, and the door opened.
Silvio stared down at her and toward Vicenzo. He was inside the room, along with Draco and Gino, the Beta.
"Eck!" Felissa was surprised that Draco was there and stepped back, but she bumped into Vicenzo’s body.
"Lady," Vicenzo whispered with a furrowed eyebrow.
"Ah! Your Majesty, King and Queen Violante," Felissa stated and hurriedly lowered her head, followed by Vicenzo.
"It’s nice seeing you again, Lady Felissa. It’s been a while," Draco chuckled while seeping his black coffee. He eyed Vicenzo at the back, who stood next to Silvio.
"Ni-nice seeing you too, Your Majesty," Felissa nervously lowered her head again toward Draco.
"Haha! You never change, Felissa. I still remember how you wore that bright and tacky orange-colored dress back in the—"Draco wasn’t able to continue speaking when Rosina threw a cookie toward him, which he catched with grace.
"Excuse my husband," Rosina glared playfully toward Draco to stop embarrassing Felissa. She looked back at her with a smile. "It seems you have gotten the book," she added.
"Yes," Felissa replied and handed the book to Rosina.
"Thank you. It’s a good book. "You should have bought one for yourself," Rosina stated, putting the book on the table.
"Ah, yeah. I took one. Although, Sir Vicenzo paid for it," Felissa whispered with a pout.
"I see. Then, Sir Vicenzo, how much do I owe you?" Rosina asked, but Vicenzo shook his head.
"It’s alright, Your Majesty," Vicenzo replied sternly.
"Hmm, alright. My husband can increase your salary for this month as compensation," Rosina stated and glanced at Draco, who nearly choked on his coffee.
Draco was about to argue, but if Rosina decided. It would be done.
"You don’t have to, Your Majesty," Vicenzo tried to reject, but Rosina didn’t give in.
"I insist," Rosina replied, her voice slightly go higher, which made Vicenzo agree in the end.
"It’s nice to see you two here together," Felissa grinned while looking at how carefree Draco and Rosina were together. "I’m a bit jealous," she whispered, and the pressure on her chest went up.
"Felissa, are you okay?" Rosina asked when she saw the change in Felissa’s expression. Although, she couldn’t ignore Felissa’s last words.
"Yes, I am fine. Can I have some drinks?" Felissa stated while holding her neck.
Rosina hurriedly gave her a cup of warm milk for Felissa to drink. She began patting her back as comfort.
"You shouldn’t be jealous, Lady Felissa. One day, you will meet your mate, and he will love you wholeheartedly; plus, you get to experience those cringe stuff together," Rosina stated with a smile. She had seen the face of Felissa’s mate, but she didn’t catch a glimpse of him in the pack.
"That will take a while," Felissa chuckled and put the cup back on the table.
"At least you have a future to look forward to. For now, you should focus on the present," Rosina looked at Vicenzo with a smile.
"Ugh, yeah. I need to get back to my pack. Ah! I don’t want to!" Felissa groaned and slumped back on the sofa.
"Well, you can’t run away forever," Rosina replied, patting Felissa’s head.
"O-okay," Felissa smiled and wanted to change the subject. "Is there some latest news about the pack?" she asked.
Rosina and Draco glanced at each other. They were talking about the recent incident that was reported to the Palace.
"Well, there’s a lot that happened. I don’t think it’s worth talking about," Rosina stated, trying to dodge the topic, but Draco spoke about it.
"A group of wolves were killed last night. Their arms are decapitated, leaving them to die in the cold night. A she-wolf stepped forward and told the knights what had happened. Seems like someone unknown killed them," Draco explained with a laugh. It wasn’t unusual for dead bodies to be found in the pack.
"Oh! Really? Does the knight catch the culprit?" Felissa asked in concern.
"No, the she-wolf said that he has grey-colored hair," Rosina stated, and somehow, she remembered Felissa’s mate, who also had grey hair in the vision.
"I want to ask about the victims. You said they are a group of men," Felissa whispered while trying to put the pieces of information together.
"Yes, a baker from the nearby shop told us that those groups are harassing wolves, most preferably, the she-wolves. Some pitied them, while some said they deserved it," Draco explained to answer Felissa’s questions.
Felissa turned to Vicenzo with a knowing look.
"Is there something you want to tell us?" Rosina asked when she saw the eye exchange between the two.
Vicenzo stepped forward to speak. "Your Majesty, when we went yesterday to the bookstore. Lady Felissa wants to buy some bread. Hence, something happened there that involved a group of men that harassed her," he explained.
"Did you do your job?" Draco asked and eyed Vicenzo since he was a knight with a duty to protect.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Vicenzo replied and lowered his head.
"Lady Felissa, are you alright?" Rosina asked in concern and looked at Felissa’s body to see if she was hurt.
"Yes, Sir Vicenzo was there for me," Felissa replied with a cheerful smile, which made Rosina sigh in belief.
"Hmm, it’s funny how their families seek justice," Draco laughed at their audacity to ask for fairness after harassing she-wolves in the pack.
"I don’t even need to dwell on this matter," Rosina replied with a shrug. She was looking at Vicenzo in her peripheral vision. After all, there was still something about him that Rosina found odd.
