Chapter 294: The Carry
Chapter 294: The Carry
Felissa was walking in the hallway toward Rosina’s office. She tried her best to walk normally without making it obvious that she felt excited walking along with Vicenzo.
The walk took some time, but Felissa felt it needed to be longer. They arrived at Rosina’s room, and Silvio was standing outside.
Silvio looked at Felissa before opening the door without a word. Rosina was expecting Felissa that day and notified Silvio of her possible arrival.
Vincenzo lowered his head at Silvio since he was his senior.
"Rosi— I mean, Your Majesty, Queen Rosina," Felissa stated quickly to undo her mistake. She curtsied and timidly went forward to Rosina’s table.
"Yes, do you need something, Lady Felissa?" Rosina giggled at Felissa’s mistake. Although, she didn’t mind being called without a title.
"Umm," Felissa glanced at Vicenzo behind her and hinted Rosina to talk to her alone.
"Alright. Sir Vicenzo, can you leave us for a second?" Rosina stated with a smile.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Vicenzo bowed before leaving the room and stood at the other side of the door.
"Is there something wrong?" Rosina asked in concern, but it was only a facade. She knew what Felissa wanted to talk about.
"Rosina. Kyah! Thank you for putting Sir Vicenzo as my personal knight. I don’t expect something like that since I never requested one," Felissa whispered and played with her finger.
"Well, you need a knight to prevent Lord Fabio from pestering you. Although I heard he went back to his pack, but I don’t know if he will come back here to the Palace," Rosina stated and continued working on the stacks of papers on her desk.
"You must be pretty busy. I’m sorry to disturb you," Felissa muttered and felt guilty for barging in. "Is there anything I can help you with while I’m in the Palace?" she added with glee.
Rosina stopped working and looked at Felissa with a smirk. "Well, perhaps you can help me with something," she stated while acting as if she was thinking.
"Tell me! I’ll do it straight away!" Felissa exclaimed with stars in her eyes. She was thrilled that she was able to help Rosina in small ways.
"I want to read a book found in a bookstore in the pack, but I forgot the name," Rosina stated, leaning back on her chair.
"What’s the book title?" Felissa asked with determination.
"Hmm, it’s a fictional novel titled The Bite," Rosina stated and couldn’t help but smile.
"Oh, The Bite. I’m not familiar with novels, but I’ll try my best! Leave it to me!" Felissa exclaimed and curtsied before leaving the room in a hurry.
Rosina was about to speak since she wasn’t able to give the author’s name, but Felissa was already outside.
"Ah, that lady," Rosina stated while shaking her head in amusement. She returned to her duties as if nothing had happened in the first place.
On the other side, while Vicenzo was following her behind, Felissa was sprinting to get the job done.
"Lady, please slow down, or you’ll get hurt," Vicenzo exclaimed in dread since Felissa wore a long dress and heels.
"We need to hurry," Felissa replied and turned back to see Vicenzo’s face, but doing so, led her to step into the fabric, causing her to trip.
"Ah!" Felissa yelled and prepared for an impact but felt nothing besides warmth. Opening her eyes, she saw Vicenzo’s face an inch before her.
They stared at one another briefly before Vicenzo pulled Felissa upward.
"Are you okay, my Lady?" Vicenzo asked, but his tone was cold and distant.
"Ye-yes," Felissa replied and lowered her head in shame. She was embarrassed and felt mortified that Vicenzo saw her like that.
"You should slow down," Vicenzo stated with a hardened expression. His eyebrows furrowed together and made Felissa terrified that he might be furious.
"I will," Felissa whispered lowly, took a step and winched in pain. She tried to hide her expression, but Vicenzo took notice of it.
Without a word, Vicenzo lifted Felissa’s body as if she weighted nothing and went to the other direction where the Theta’s were located.
"Where are we going?" Felissa asked, but Vicenzo didn’t answer. She felt the anger radiating on Vicenzo’s pores and was scared.
Felissa didn’t want to cause too much trouble, knowing that Vicenzo didn’t like her that much. She didn’t say a word afterwards and waited for where Vicenzo would bring her.
Vicenzo entered the Theta’s room and placed her on one of the empty beds. A Theta approached him to know what was going on.
"This Lady hurt her ankle," Vicenzo explained and pointed at Felissa’s ankle, which was currently reddish.
"I will look at it immediately," the Theta stated and examined Felissa’s ankle and took some potions and herbs to soothe it down.
"Lady, you should rest for now and avoid walking for a long time," the Theta stated while wrapping a bandage on the ankle.
"For sure, it will heal fast," Felissa said to reassure herself that everything would be okay.
"Yes, my Lady, but for the meantime, please let your knight carry you for long walks," the Theta said before standing up and looking at Vicenzo.
"Yes, I will do it," Vicenzo replied, which satisfied the Theta since all they cared about were their patients.
"That’s great," the Theta replied and gave an ointment to Felissa before leaving the bed.
"I’ll bring you to your chamber," Vicenzo informed and was about to lift Felissa, but she stopped him.
"No, we must not. I promised the Queen I’ll buy her the novel she wanted," Felissa explained for Vicenzo to understand that she still needed to go.
"You can explain to the Queen that you won’t be able to walk for the next few days because of that injury," Vicenzo argued since she wanted Felissa to rest and not push herself.
"No, I want to do this today. As for you, Sir Vicenzo. You will be going to carry me around," Felissa crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow while stating that phrase, leaving Vicenzo speechless.
