Chapter 285: The Indirect Rejection

Vicenzo used his arm to prevent Felissa from kissing him. He covered his head and used his free hand to push her away.

"What the heck!" Vicenzo exclaimed and glared at Felissa. He was already on the verge of breaking his self-control, and Felissa was not helping at all.

"Vi...cenzo," Felissa whispered before her eyes closed from exhaustion.

"Lady Felissa?" Vicenzo called out and touched Felissa’s shoulder to see if she was conscious, but she wasn’t moving. He sighed in relief that his struggles were over. He looked at Felissa and saw her facial expression turn to bliss while enjoying the cold floor that cooled her body.

"Ah, you’re making me crazy," Vicenzo stated, lying on the floor beside Felissa. His smile vanished and was replaced with a troubled expression. "I’m sorry, Lady Felissa," he whispered.

Vicenzo sat up and lifted Felissa’s body from the floor, and put her on the bed. He didn’t tuck the blanket that time to prevent her body from heating up again. He went out of the room after making sure that she was okay.

The next day, everyone gathered in the garden where the event’s last day would be held. Those who found their mates were lined up on the other table, while the unmatched wolves were on the other side.

Rosina stood at the center and looked at the guests enjoying their lunch. Her eyes gazed at the crowd and noticed Vicenzo and Felissa were missing.

Fabio was standing at the back, frantically looking around for Felissa.

"Seems like today is going to be fun," Rosina whispered to Fina, standing beside her.

"There’s a lot of new mated wolves, Your Majesty," Fina whispered, fanning Rosina with a feather for some air.

"Yes, how’s your brother doing?" Rosina asked and glanced at Fina, who had a slight blush on her cheeks.

"My brother has been doing well, but he struggled to handle the sword for a long time," Fina explained shyly.

Rosina had Enric, Fina’s younger brother train to become a future knight. It was an honor to be recommended by royalty to train at such a young age, and it made Fina indebted to Rosina for her kindness.

"Hmm, it’s alright. Tell him to slow down and enjoy his youth for a while," Rosina giggled and remembered how adorable Enric was when she met him.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Fina giggled and continued her work.

Rosina smiled and stood up, clicking her glass to gather everyone’s attention.

"Hello, my lovely guest. Are you enjoying these past days inside the Palace?" Rosina stated loudly with a gentle smile.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" the guest stated in unison.

"That’s great! Today is the last Season of the Event, and we are delighted to see many wolves have found their true mates!" Rosina exclaimed and clapped, which everyone followed.

Everyone cheered on the mated wolves, but the singles had several jealous faces.

"But, all couples must present their partners to me by the night’s end. I’ll give my blessings," Rosina grinned and raised her glass before drinking the apple juice that looked like wine since she was still hiding the fact that she was pregnant.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" everyone exclaimed and thought there was a gift for them, but little did they know the truth.

"Now, please enjoy the feast and let’s meet each other tonight," Rosina stated before waving the guest goodbye, which responded to her. She noticed that even though they gave her a smile, she could sense they were hostile to her presence.

’Now, which one of you here is a spy from the enemy,’ Rosina thought before glancing back at the guests one last time before leaving. She was supposed to be with them, but she needed to take care of her needs first for the baby.

On the other hand, Draco was working on the Palace and secretly sending out troops around the pack to know who was making a move against them.

Aside from that, there were multiple instances where spies were caught sneaking around the Palace for possible pieces of information. They were all sent to the dungeon; sometimes, Rosina would play with them to satisfy her needs.

"How’s Lady Felissa, Fina?" Rosina whispered while walking toward the Palace.

"Lady Felissa was gone from her room this morning. I heard from the servants that she returned to the building," Fina answered softly.

"I see, thank you," Rosina smirked, and they continued walking.

Back in the garden, Fabio was pissed. He was looking around, but there was no sight of Felissa. He felt she embarrassed him for ditching the lunch, which was supposed to be the time they could show the guest that they were mates.

"Where is that b^tch?" Fabio whispered aggressively while gritting his teeth. He didn’t want to sit on either side of the table for two reasons. First, he didn’t want to be seen as a single wolf if he sat at the unmated table. His pride couldn’t take it upon knowing several wolves knew about Felissa. Second, he wanted to avoid sitting on the mated table since he was alone.

That problem made Fabio irritated, and his pressure rose up to incredible heights. He was also hungry.

In the end, Fabio walked away after Rosina left the place. He went to the women’s building to search for Felissa. He wanted to ensure she would attend the ball later at night.

"I will kill that b^tch if she won’t show her face!" Fabio exclaimed upon arriving at the woman’s building, which was empty since all she-wolves were eating in the garden.

Fabio looked around to make sure no one was nearby. He was about to go inside the door when someone tugged him back.

"Lord Fabio!" a high-pitched voice yelled and pulled Fabio’s shirt.

Fabio turned back and saw Dona grasping his shirt. "Ah, Lady Dona," he stated and bowed down.

"Don’t be ridiculous, Lord Fabio. I know why you are here," Dona stated firmly and walked closer to him.

"I’m here to see my mate," Fabio replied sternly, but he couldn’t keep eye contact with her and ended up looking to the side.

"Don’t be stup1d! I am your true mate!" Dona exclaimed loudly. She wasn’t scared if someone heard their conversation. She was delighted to know that her mate was Fabio since he was a noble, but he had his eyes on another she-wolf.

"And? Do you have something for me?" Fabio crossed his arms and raised his eyebrow.

"What? I am your true mate that the Moon Goddess gives you!" Dona felt helpless since Fabio was not acknowledging her.

"Ridiculous! We are supposed to find a potential mate that can give us men something. You, Lady Dona, have nothing but a noble title. You’re a spoiled brat that got house arrest. You bring me nothing but disappointments and humiliation!" Fabio shouted, his saliva flying into Dona’s face. He spoke with so much disgust that he broke Dona’s heart to pieces.

"But the rules...." Dona whispered and paused since she was hurting deep inside. Her wolf was crying out loud in pain.

"F^ck the rules! How can that Queen from a low-rank pack know about true mates?" Fabio exclaimed with his eyes wide open. He didn’t like how Dona was not letting him go.

"But..." Dona tried to reason out, but Fabio growled at her threateningly.

"You should be happy that I told you you’re my mate, but Lady Dona, you are becoming a pest," Fabio growled and gritted his teeth. "You must be content with that, and let me be. You can always get a second chance, mate, if you’re lucky enough," he added before turning his back on Dona.

"You’re so cruel," Dona whispered softly since all her energy had vanished from her body. She felt drained, and helpless watching her long-awaited mate indirectly reject her.

While that was happening, Felissa was eavesdropping behind the wall by the window. She was supposed to go out when she saw Fabio through the glass. She hurriedly hid but didn’t expect Dona’s appearance.

’That’s why Lady Dona wants to talk to me,’ Felissa thought upon hearing their entire conversation. She felt terrible for Dona since she sounded sad and miserable while Fabio was cold.

Felissa sighed. She hurriedly closed the door’s lock to prevent Fabio from entering inside. She didn’t want to face him, or else she would bite his flesh.

"Why is this door locked? Ugh!" Fabio complained and tried to kick the door open, which made Felissa flinch at his aggressive action.

"Lady Felissa! Come out! I know you’re in there!" Fabio screamed and proceeded to knock on the door.

There was no one inside except Felissa and the female guards rounding up, which meant that if Fabio could enter inside, he would be doomed.

’What should I do!?’ Felissa thought before running away and went straight to her room, locking the door and made sure to spray thick perfume to mask her possible scent from lingering in the air.
