Chapter 28: The Nightwalker
Chapter 28: The Nightwalker
Draco dropped Rosina in the garden for her to stroll since she didn’t want him to drop her at the building since new gossip would explode again, and she didn’t want it to happen.
After the introduction, those who were mated and blessed by the monarchy returned home to start their lives as a couple. Those who were left were the unmated wolves trying to enjoy their remaining time on the palace grounds. Some went to the city to buy some stuff before returning to their respective packs.
Rosina stared at the building and entered the hall. It was quiet and deserted, which fits her liking. She was about to go on the stairs when a familiar scent reached her nose. She turned around and saw Gastone walking toward her with a soft smile.
"Crown Prince," Rosina greeted and curtsied.
"Lady Rosina, your beauty behind the mask was stunning," Gastone complimented and tucked a single strand of hair behind her ears.
"Thank you," Rosina stated and took two steps back to create some space between them.
That action made Gastone furrow his eyebrow but didn’t make a big deal out of it. "How are you?"
"I feel exhausted from the long hours of sitting. Would you mind if I take my rest first, Crown Prince?" Rosina stated softly to not hurt Gastone’s feelings about her indirect rejection.
"You may, Lady Rosina. Take a good rest," Gastone stated and waved Rosina goodbye when she curtsied and walked away.
Gastone’s smile drooped down, and his gentle eyes were replaced with boredom. He cracked his head to the side, went out of the building, and rode the carriage waiting for him outside.
Rosina sighed deeply when she realized that Gastone was gone. She wouldn’t mind his presence if the mating contract between Draco and her wasn’t validated yet.
Rosina returned to her room to fix her things since there would be changes soon, and she wanted to prepare for it. She opened the door and was surprised that Sal and Fina were inside and were packing her things.
"Lady Rose," they greeted and bowed.
"What are you two doing?" Rosina asked with a smile. Her eyes roamed around the room, and it was spot clean.
"We are cleaning and arranging the room since you won’t be using this anymore," Sal answered with a giggle. Their eyes bare sparkles of excitement that Rosina started to be creeped out by them.
"Is there something I need to know?" Rosina asked, but before the servants could answer. A knock on the door was heard.
Sal ran and opened the saw, and outside was another male servant with a small box in hand.
"A special delivery for Lady Rosina Greco," the servant stated and handed the box to Sal. He bowed down and left the scene.
Sal carefully handed the box to Rosina and smiled widely in excitement.
Rosina took the box and noticed a small note at the top. She opened it and saw Draco’s handwriting.
```
Hello Lady Rosina,
This will be the key to your new room. Your servants will guide you to your new place today. Enjoy~
Your beloved mate.
```
"We are pleased to hear that you became the third Prince, mate," Fina said with delight. Both her and Sal bowed in respect since Rosina’s status would increase in nobility.
Rosina was speechless at the sudden change. It was too fast for her, and she felt that Draco had prepared everything ahead of time.
"The news had spread faster than I expected," Rosina muttered with a laugh.
"The third Prince servant notified us earlier to pack your stuff since you will be transferring into his home," Fina explained. She tried to act calm but couldn’t help but be delighted by the news. After all, their servant rank would also be affected positively.
"Then, we shall go now," Rosina stated and took the key from the box.
"Lady Rosina, we should prepare first for the arrival of your parents," Fina stated and showed Rosina a simple pink gown she had prepared.
Rosina looked at her current dress and noticed some dirt stain on the bottom. She wanted to skip the meeting with her parents since she didn’t like them, but she needed to follow the rules stated in the contract agreement.
"Okay," Rosina agreed and let the servants change her clothes even though she wanted to do it herself.
Rosina was surprised that her servants decided to dress her in simplicity when they wanted extravagant styles before.
"This dress, I didn’t own this one," Rosina stated while looking at herself in the mirror.
"That dress was sent earlier by the third Prince, Lady Rosina," Sal answered dreamily while trying to hide her squeal. "He wanted you to wear this today."
’He really planned all of this,’ Rosina thought and sighed loudly. She didn’t mind it since it would lessen her thinking and work efforts.
After she was done fixing her appearance, Rosina went out of the room to go meet Felissa. That was when she saw another noble come out of her room. She was wearing a red gown, and her two servants were behind her.
Rosina was about to greet her when their eyes met, but the lady rolled her eyes and went away without a word.
"Lady Melania Palmiotto, from the Nightwalker pack," Sal whispered behind to give Rosina some information.
"Thanks," Rosina smiled and continued walking toward Felissa’s room, which was not far from hers.
’Nightwalker is ranked third in the Ethereal realm. No wonder her attitude was rude,’ Rosina thought while shaking her head.
There were thirteen packs total inside the realm. The upper and lower six packs were divided into two, while the thirteenth pack was considered dead and inhabitable.
Rosina and Felissa’s pack belonged to the lower rank packs, and those higher nobles tended to look down on them.
"I heard she was aiming to get the Crown Prince’s attention but failed," Sal whispered behind and giggled behind, while enjoying the gossip.
