Chapter 278: The Want to Eat With Me

Felissa furrowed her eyebrows and thought about the gossip she had heard earlier.

"It’s confusing," Felissa whispered while biting her nails. "Fabio wants to find a suitable wife, which is not how it’s supposed to be. New rules state that one should find and marry their true mate," she added and sighed deeply.

"This makes me wonder if I’m really his true mate," Felissa turned to the side and hugged herself in a fetal position. Somehow, she felt uncomfortable with Fabio’s proposal.

Felissa closed her eyes and tried to forget everything, but the memories of her encounter with Vicenzo came back like a broken record.

"Ah! Why!? So embarrassing!" Felissa took a pillow and screamed out her feelings. She wanted to pinch herself for acting weird and clumsy in front of Vicenzo. "Oh, but why am I so affected by him!?" she added.

Felissa felt frustrated that she felt that way. It added to her confusion, and she didn’t like it.

"Ah, should I ask Rosina about this too?" Felissa whispered and sat up.

"Umm, my Lady?" Idola whispered timidly with an awkward smile. Her head was peeking through the door with her body hidden behind.

"Ah, Idola. Why are you here?" Felissa asked and composed herself, acting as if she had just arrived.

"I came here to check on you, my Lady, to see if you have arrived from the ball. I knocked multiple times since I heard your voice, but I have yet to hear anyone answer. So I tried peeking... I apologize for my behavior, Lady Felissa," Idola explained frantically since she was panicking if Felissa would punish her for peeking inside the room without her permission.

’She must have seen me talking to myself,’ Felissa thought while staring at Idola’s face.

"I won’t do it again, Lady Felissa," Idola added and knelt down. Fear was seeping out of her pores.

"It’s alright," Felissa grinned and gestured for Idola to come inside. After all, she needed to change her clothes and go to bed.

"I’ll help you change, Lady Felissa," Idola muttered and slowly closed the door behind her. She untied Felissa’s ribbon and helped her change.

All that time, both of them were silent.

Idola tried to be respectful while Felissa’s mind drifted away into blank thoughts.

"My Lady, you can take a rest," Idola stated and stepped back before bowing.

"Thank you, Idola. You may leave," Felissa replied and waved Idola goodbye. When she was alone, her smile vanished from her lips.

*Cough*

Felissa covered her mouth to prevent her vomit from ruining her dress. She looked at her hand and saw blood on it.

"Oh, I forgot," Felissa stated in surprise. She wiped the blood as if she was used to it. She went to her luggage and rummaged inside. She took a small wooden box wrapped in a pouch.

*Cough cough*

Felissa coughed another set of blood, but she didn’t mind it. She grabbed a towel and made sure to wipe it away. She opened the box that contained mini pills in white color.

She grabbed one and swallowed it whole.

"Ugh, I should remind myself not to forget it," Felissa scolded herself and burped. She didn’t feel any pain in her body or have diseases that could relate to her symptoms.

Felissa lay on the bed while looking at the ceiling. She was starting to feel better after taking the pill, and it made her sleepy.

The following day, Felissa woke up feeling grumpy. She stretched her body since she felt her muscles aching, especially her knee joint.

There was a lot of dirt on the bedsheets, with several leaves crumpling around.

"Ugh! Why do I feel so groggy?" Felissa muttered and wiped her face, only to feel something rough. That was when she looked at her hand and saw dirt had dried up.

"Oh, no!" Felissa exclaimed and rushed toward the mirror to see her reflection. She gasped at what she saw.

Felissa was coated with dirt, and her clean nightgown turned brown.

"What did I do this time, ugh!" Felissa whispered and leaned closer to the window. She saw dried blood in her mouth and quickly wiped it away. She breathed deeply before looking back at the bed where the mess was evident.

Felissa hurriedly grabbed the fabric and pulled it away. She folded them and tucked them inside her luggage so no one would know especially Idola. She didn’t want to cause suspicion in the Palace.

"This will do. Now, I need to take a shower," Felissa talked to herself before running toward the bathroom and scrubbing all dirt from her body.

It was still far too early, but she wanted to get ready and know what she had done that time.

Felissa wore simple attire and braided her hair before going out. She saw Idola walking toward her room, pushing a cart with the prepared breakfast.

"My Lady, you are up!" Idola exclaimed and yawned deeply.

"Ah, yes. I sleep very well that I end up waking early," Felissa replied with a lie and acted like she was still sleepy.

"Where do you want to eat your breakfast, my Lady?" Idola asked and tilted her head.

"Ah," Felissa pursed her lips. She wasn’t hungry yet but didn’t want to act suspicious. She smiled gently and gave an answer. "I’ll eat at the garden pavilion."

"Alright," Idola chirped and bowed her head, gesturing for Felissa to walk ahead of her.

Felissa smiled and ignored a couple of stares from the she-wolves around, who were already awake then. She found a nearby pavilion and settled herself there.

Idola placed the warm meal in front of Felissa and stood at the side, waiting if Felissa needed her to do something.

Felissa’s eyes glanced around, looking to see if something different was going on. She looked back at Idola and grinned.

"Please, have a seat. I can’t finish my food, so perhaps, you can eat with me," Felissa stated and gestured toward the seat before her.

"My Lady, I can’t do that," Idola rejected since she felt her rank was too low to dine with a noble.

"Don’t worry, I want you to eat with me... please," Felissa stated firmly to make Idola agree. She needed to make their relationship a bit more comfortable so she could use Idola to get her needed information.
