Chapter 275: The Pink Dress

The next day held the first day of the Mating Event. Every male and female wolf prepared to stroll around the Palace, where merchants set up mini-stores for the guest to enjoy themselves and have a little date time.

The surrounding place looked like a mini city where everyone could get to know one another without being awkward in the public’s eye.

It was one of Rosina’s ideas that came to life. After all, the Palace area was vast, with preoccupied spaces left behind.

Guests were roaming around and exploring the locations while talking to the other guest to find their mates. From all the optimistic aura radiating from the crowd, one wolf was miserable.

Felissa gazed outside her window and retreated back into her bed. She wanted to go out and look around since the smell of burning food tortured her nose.

"Ah! I want to have fun too!" Felissa whined and kicked her foot on the blanket. She was frustrated because she felt imprisoned in the event she was supposed to enjoy.

*Knock knock*

A knock disrupted Felissa’s thoughts. She fixed herself before letting the person in.

Idola entered with a shy smile. "My Lady, I bring you breakfast in bed," she stated and pushed the cart inside the room.

"Thank you, Idola," Felissa replied with a smile before sitting in front of the table. She looked at her food with tired eyes.

The food looked good, but Felissa didn’t find them appetizing.

"Is there something wrong, My Lady?" Idola asked when she noticed Felissa’s saddened expression.

"I kinda want to go outside," Felissa replied with a heavy side. She picked a slice of apple and munched it.

"You can always go outside, My Lady," Idola stated while tilting her head to the side. She was confused since Felissa said it in a way as if she couldn’t go out.

"I know.... But," Felissa paused. She didn’t want to meet Fabio or Vicenzo in the crowd. She had gathered quite an attention yesterday, and she didn’t want to add embarrassment.

"Is there something wrong, My Lady?" Idola asked in concern since Felissa’s well-being was in her care.

"Ah, it’s nothing. Can you come with me to the event and check out some stores around?" Felissa grinned in excitement at her idea.

"My Lady, I’m not allowed to join...." Idola muttered softly since they were banned from mingling with the guest while at work, even though most of the servants wanted to check out the places.

"It’s fine. You’re with me, and I ask you to accompany me there!" Felissa chirped with excitement. She wanted to use Idola as a shield if the two men were around; plus, she would stay calm strolling alone.

"O-okay, My Lady. I will prepare your clothes," Idola stated and hurriedly fetched Felissa’s attire for the day.

Felissa’s gloomy aura became jolly since she was looking forward to her trip. She changed her clothes and fixed her attire.

The thought of finding her mate was thrown entirely from Felissa’s mind. She went outside and walked toward the venue with Idola following behind her.

"Wah! The place is so nice!" Felissa exclaimed with excitement and inhaled a sum of air that contained the smell of roasted meat. "Idola, come with me," she added before running in a specific direction.

Idola squirmed in awkwardness since she was wearing servant attire while the rest wore elegant dresses. She felt self-conscious and out of place.

"Idola?" Felissa called out when she noticed that Idola stayed in her place while grasping her clothes. That was when she saw Idola must feel left out because even the commoners were dressed nicely. That thought made Felissa feel bad since she was responsible for taking Idola with her.

"Ah, I apologize, my Lady," Idola flinched and bowed her head before running toward Felissa. She felt her head down and avoided any eye contact.

Felissa smiled softly before grabbing Idola’s hand and pulling her toward a stall that sold already-made clothes.

"Ah, young miss! Welcome to my humble shop. Can I interest you with these lovely gowns for today’s event?" the merchant stated and showed Felissa a pink gown that had ribbons around the fabric.

"Do you think this dress is beautiful?" Felissa asked curiously and faced Idola, asking for her opinion.

"I-I think it’s a beautiful dress," Idola replied timidly.

Felissa could see the glint in Idola’s eyes when she saw the dress. "Great! I’ll take it," she replied and grabbed Idola’s shoulder.

"My Lady?" Idola called out in confusion.

"Can you help me try it on? I want to see how it looks in a female’s body, but I don’t want to remove my dress," Felissa pouted and pushed Idola inside the dressing room.

The merchant needed clarification, but he followed Felissa’s instructions as long as she purchased the dress.

After a few minutes, Idola went out wearing the garments that tightly fit her body shape.

"You look beautiful," Felissa complimented sincerely since the dress looked like it was made for Idola.

"Umm, My Lady, I have tried the dress. Can I take it off now?" Idola replied awkwardly.

"Why? You don’t like it?" Felissa asked, and her smile vanished, thinking Idola disliked the entire attire.

"No, I-I like them. I’m afraid I’ll get them dirty if I wear these clothes for long," Idola explained awkwardly while trying not to dirty the dress.

"It’s my gift to you. I hope you like it," Felissa stated with a grin. She pulled Idola’s arm and walked toward the other stalls nearby.

"My Lady, I can’t receive something like this. It’s too expensive," Idola argued since her guilt was eating her alive.

"I already paid for it. Besides, you look beautiful in that color. It suits you," Felissa grinned and stopped walking when she saw that Idola was still hesitant to receive her gift. "It’s a bad thing to reject a gift, Idola," she added before walking again.

In the end, Idola accepted the gift with a grateful heart.
