Chapter 274: The Sir with Green Hair
Chapter 274: The Sir with Green Hair
Felissa took a cocktail from the waiter and drank it in one gulp. She had finished talking to Rosina, and her mindset changed.
"Hah! Why do I even need a man to marry when I can lead the pack on my own? It’s my parent’s pack anyway," Felissa muttered and grabbed a bit of the dessert section. She didn’t want to eat dinner since she was not hungry after that talk.
After a few minutes, the music stopped, and everyone focused on the center where Rosina and Draco came out in their extravagant tailored clothes but with less jewellery.
Felissa’s attention shifted, and she gazed at Rosina lovingly. She was grateful that she helped her gain knowledge for her next move, but she needed a lot of strength to do so. Especially since she was afraid of her own mother.
"Ladies and Gentle, we have gathered here today to celebrate another wonderful Mating Event, the Season of Gratitude," the announcer stated loudly, followed by a greeting orchestra.
The guests clapped their hands. Others felt forced, while some were excited to see the new Monarch.
After all, it was a werewolf instinct to follow the strongest, and the weak would be thrown to the side.
Rosina gazed at the crowd and was surprised at the number of participants in every pack after driving the Sabrecrown pack members near extinction.
Draco and Rosina grabbed a glass of white wine and raised it into the air.
"Let’s toast to a better future to come!" Draco exclaimed, and everyone raised their glasses. He took a sip, and everyone followed. He didn’t want to say other flowery words since he hated it.
They went down and started talking to the other guest to get to know them and separate the allies and enemies.
At the same time, Felissa wanted to talk to Rosina and share her plans, but when she was walking. She bumped into a man so hard she nearly fell to the floor, face first.
Felissa closed her eyes and expected an impact, but she felt strong hands capture her body. She peeked through her eyes and saw a familiar face.
"You!" Felissa exclaimed in surprise, and a red hue crept into her cheeks at how close their faces were.
Some wolves nearby gossiped when they saw what had happened. Due to Felissa’s embarrassment, she pushed the man away and ran toward the garden to save her face.
"Kyah! What just happened!" Felissa exclaimed while patting her flustered face. Her heartbeat was beating so loud, as if it was made of drums.
"Are you okay?" a female voice was heard behind Felissa.
"Ah! Yes!" Felissa replied and turned around to see an unknown woman she had never met.
"I saw you alone in the garden. I’m worried that something happened to you," the woman stated shyly, with concern on her face.
"Ah, I’m fine. I just need a breath of fresh air," Felissa replied with a giggle. She walked toward the woman and raised her hand in front of her. "By the way, I’m Felissa Nucci."
"Ah, are you the daughter of Alpha Nucci of Midnight pack?" the woman exclaimed in shock and lowered her head.
"Ah, yes, but don’t mind my title," Felissa stated shyly and didn’t want the woman to feel little due to their differences.
"Thank you, Lady Felissa. My name is Vanda, just a humble commoner," Vanda replied and curtsied.
"Hello, Vanda. Nice knowing you here," Felissa stated softly. She felt good knowing someone had talked to her that night since she felt alone and isolated without Rosina by her side.
"You too. How’s the night for you?" Vanda asked and clasped her hands together in excitement.
"Ah, It’s alright. I haven’t seen any sight of my mate," Felissa replied with a sigh.
"Don’t worry. I know you will find him soon, or you already found him," Vanda stated with a grin, but she hid her smile with her hair.
"Ah, I don’t know. I’ll stay here for a couple of minutes," Felissa replied with a forced smile. She was still awkward going back inside after that incident, but most of all, she didn’t want to see that man again.
"I see. Then I shall return since I’m starving," Vanda stated before waving Felissa goodbye and going back inside.
Felissa smiled and sighed deeply at the night’s cold air. She looked above the sky and witnessed the moon that shone brightly in the realm.
"I wonder what food is served inside," Felissa muttered and licked her lips. She wasn’t hungry earlier, but she was now.
"Here," a familiar voice spoke, bringing shivers down Felissa’s spine.
Felissa flinched and slowly turned around to see the green-haired man again, carrying a plate full of various food and utensils.
"Ah! Who are you!?" Felissa exclaimed and stepped back to create distance between them.
"You don’t need to know. This is your food. Don’t worry, I didn’t poison them," the man shrugged and forcefully handed Felissa the plate.
"I didn’t ask for this," Felissa muttered and confusedly grabbed the plate.
"A woman came over to me and said you want food, but then she vanished out of nowhere," the man turned his back and was about to leave, but Felissa spoke.
"Thank you for saving me earlier," Felissa muttered and bit her lips.
The man glanced back at her with a cold expression. "You’re heavy," he said before walking away.
"Heavy? Wah! What a prick," Felissa exasperated in disbelief at the man’s reply. "I’M NOT FAT!" she shouted, but the man ignored her.
Felissa pouted and felt a sting in her chest, but she shrugged it off. She found the nearest chair and ate the food grumpily while pinching her stomach to see if there was fat formed in her flesh.
The thought of her getting heavier made Felissa stop eating to manage her weight.
"Wait, why am I so affected by that man!? He’s a stranger!" Felissa exclaimed and continued eating her food. She didn’t know why she was worked up by the man’s opinion and how he looked at her, which made Felissa pissed with herself.
After Felissa was done eating. She went back inside while holding her emptied plate. She glanced around, hoping she wouldn’t meet that man again, but fate had other plans.
"Ah, look who it is. A Lady entering a man’s toilet," a mocking voice boosted on the crowd.
Felissa stopped walking and looked at the source. She saw the other man who saw her back in the man’s toilet. She hurriedly covered herself using her palm and walked away, hoping she wouldn’t get humiliated more.
"Oh, Goddess, please no," Felissa muttered while closing her eyes shut, desiring it would all go away until her thoughts stopped when she bumped into another man.
Felissa looked up, and it was the green-haired man. She took a step back to get away, but she was held tightly by him in her waist, which got Felissa confused.
"Ah, Sir Vicenzo. We meet again," the man stated and curtsied.
"Vicenzo?" Felissa muttered and looked back at the man. She finally knew his name and saw how Vicenzo’s body shivered when she spoke the word.
"Don’t embarrass Lady Felissa in public, Lord Fabio Zetticci," Vicenzo stated firmly, and his voice showed dominance that showed protection.
Lord Fabio Zetticci was the second son of Alpha Zetticci of Skykrill pack, 6th rank.
"I don’t mean harm to the lady," Fabio stated softly. His attitude changed when he knew Felissa was a noble lady and the only daughter of the Midnight pack.
"Ah, I think it’s alright. I need to go, Felissa stated, pushing Vicenzo away in a hurry. She felt her heart was about to collapse from too much beating and was afraid Vicenzo would hear them.
Vicenzo looked at Felissa, retreating without a word. He ignored everyone as he walked to the opposite side since he didn’t want to mingle in the crowd anymore.
On the other side, Rosina was looking through the curtain upstairs. She left the interaction to the guest in Draco’s hand since it tired her out to talk nonstop for the whole night.
"Let me guess, you are part of this?" Rosina stated, and a figure appeared from the darkness.
"What do you mean? I’m just enjoying myself in this Mating Event. I have always dreamed of going here for years," Vanda stated with a grin and drank a glass of red wine.
"You sure do," Rosina replied with a smirk of interest. Her eyes glanced at Vicenzo’s figure from afar.
"I bet this Mating Event will be fun," Vanda giggled in excitement since she could hint at what would happen in the next few days.
"I guess you finally found your next target," Rosina stated while rolling her eyes. She didn’t mind Vanda playing around with the werewolves since the outcome would be on the good side.
"Who knows," Vanda shrugged and stepped into the darkness while waving her hand. "I’ll see you tomorrow. I’ll go to sleep," she added before completely disappearing into the night.
Rosina pursed her lips and drank apple juice. She didn’t announce her pregnancy to the public since Vanda warned her a couple of days before the event to open to keep it a secret since the enemies might use the opportunity to strike back at their vulnerability.
"I hope this event will bring me a fruitful result in the future," Rosina muttered before closing the window and returning to her room. She felt tired, and her body was aching from her pregnancy and work.
