Chapter 265: The Pup’s Blood
Chapter 265: The Pup’s Blood
Rosina and Draco were outside the closed Palace door. The guards were holding the knob while waiting for the exact moment.
"Are you ready?" Draco asked with a lovely smile on his face. He was excited at that moment after dreaming of walking with Rosina by his side.
"Yes, I am," Rosina replied with a forced smile. She was a bit nervous, not because of the crown, but because if someone decided to cause chaos to stop the coronation, she couldn’t contribute anything.
"That’s good. Whatever happens, I’ll be by your side," Draco whispered and held Rosina’s hand tightly, reassuring her safety.
Rosina appreciated the gesture and inhaled deeply as the gigantic door opened. She gasped upon seeing the red roses everywhere, and the wolves inside had a rose brooch on their clothes.
"Let’s go," Draco whispered and started walking on the red carpet. His eyes glanced at the knights standing on the walls, guarding the place. He was also not confident about having a peaceful coronation ceremony since the enemies might take advantage of the event to get inside the Palace.
Rosina’s eyes glanced around. She was hoping to see Felissa, but no matter where she looked. She couldn’t see her, even smell Felissa’s scent.
At the center was Rocco, standing between his Beta and Delta, holding two pillows on which the crowns were sitting. Cinzia was supposed to be there to give Rosina her crown since she was the previous Queen, but she was absent.
When Rosina and Draco reached the center. They knelt on the ground and lowered their heads.
"We are here today to witness the new ruler of the Werewolf realm. Prince Draco Violante and his mate, Princess Rosina Violante, will take the throne from now on," Rocco shouted as the room remained dead silent.
"Being the King means you will carry a huge and heavy responsibility on your back and become someone the wolves can depend on in terms of their safety. A King they can depend on to lead them to greatness!" Rocco exclaimed. His voice boomed in the room, showing his dominance. "Draco Violante, are you willing to take this responsibility?" he added.
"Yes," Draco answered firmly while keeping his head down.
Rocco nodded. He grabbed the crown on his Beta side and showed it to everyone.
"My son, you are the rightful heir to the throne," Rocco whispered before putting the crown on Draco’s head. Everyone started clapping, while some cheered.
Draco stood up and bowed to his father before facing everyone. He lowered his head in respect and waited for Rosina’s turn.
"The King’s mate and the Queen of this realm. She will stand as the mother of all werewolves and pups. Her gentle side will give comfort to the pack like a delicate flower. She will support her husband’s decision and promise to be loyal only to him. Rosina Violante, are you willing to take this responsibility?" Rocco stated gentler.
Rosina raised an eyebrow at Rocco’s words. ’I’m the only one who needs to be loyal while the King can fuck around and have mistresses?’ she thought before glaring at Draco, smiling innocently.
Everyone started whispering around when Rosina didn’t reply instantly, but she didn’t care.
Rosina lifted her head and looked straight at Rocco. "I will support my mate and be loyal to him if he does the same to me. Then, I will accept the responsibility in my heart," she stated loudly, enough for everyone to hear.
"What are you doing?" Rocco whispered in panic, but he was acting calmly.
"Everything should be fair, Lord Rocco," Rosina replied and glanced at Draco, waiting for his answer.
"I will be loyal to you for eternity," Draco replied in a heartbeat. Even though he liked to f^ck women and played around most of the time. He changed that attitude for Rosina.
"Ah, then everything is settled," Rocco coughed and forced a smile. He took the Queen’s crown and was about to put it into Rosina’s head when a voice shouted among the crown.
"STOP THIS!"
Everyone turned around to look who was the source of the voice. A woman stepped out from the seat and stood on the red carpet, holding a newborn baby in her arms.
"King Draco, I’m here to tell you about your child with me!" the woman shouted and walked to the center, but the knights stopped her.
Draco and Rocco’s faces hardened, but Rosina remained calm. She stood up and looked at the woman’s face.
"I don’t remember her," Rosina muttered while trying to recall where she had seen the lady.
"Please! Your Majesty, don’t neglect your pup!" the woman cried out while showing the baby to the crowd.
"Draco, do you know that woman?" Rocco called his son’s name firmly. He didn’t like what was happening since it ruined the ceremony, but he was concerned about Rosina.
Draco opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. He knew who that lady was, and they had f^cked a long time ago.
"Yes," Draco replied softly. He could feel his heartbeat beating loudly. He was afraid Rosina would leave him again because of the current issue.
"Then you should check the baby’s blood," Rosina replied and looked at the crown on Rocco’s hand. "I think we should hold off the ceremony after everything is done," she added with a gentle smile.
Rosina faced the woman. "Knights, let her come forward," she stated, which surprised the wolves. They thought Rosina would become crazy, but she was calm.
The knights stepped aside and let the woman go.
The woman glared at the knights and started walking. She had eye contact with Rosina and glared at her. When she was closer, she announced her name.
"I am Trice Pisano, Daughter of Alpha Pisano in Mystic Pack!" she announced her name in a boastful voice. She took pride in her nobility and rank in the realm.
The Mystic pack was next to the Sabrecrown in terms of ranking and power after attacking the previous Alpha and its members.
Rosina smiled before walking to the other side of the room, where another door was located. The knights opened them for her. She didn’t want to get involved in Draco’s problem.
"Ah, that’s unexpected," Rosina breathed out and sat on the sofa in one of the Palace rooms. She wasn’t mad that Draco might have had a child with another woman due to his background as a woman lover.
Also, Rosina was in the same situation. She rubbed her belly and thought about the chance the pup was not Draco’s blood.
"I can think about the future chaos that will happen after all this drama," Rosina whispered and chuckled in amusement. She covered her eyes with her arm and was about to take a rest when the door burst open.
"Rosina! I can explain!" Draco barged in with cold sweat on his forehead. He ensured that Rosina would stay with him until the issue was resolved.
"You don’t have to explain yourself, Draco. I can understand since I’m in the same shoes as you right now. I believe you need to prioritize the baby’s blood first. I’ll be here," Rosina stated to reassure Draco. She just didn’t want to face the woman since she got a bad vibe from her.
"I... Alright. I’ll be back," Draco kissed Rosina’s forehead before rushing outside.
When the door opened. Rosina could hear the commotion outside, and the chaos since the pup could become one of the true royal children and had a chance to the crown. This also meant that the Mystic pack would gain power in the Palace under Draco’s ordinance.
They could become a hindrance to Draco’s rule and another problem he needed to take in, especially since they were once one of Cinzia’s supporters.
"Your Majesty, the King sent me here," Fina entered the room timidly. She looked troubled since the outside had a few nobles arguing.
A Theta was also called to examine whether the pup’s blood belonged to Draco, but it would take time. It would take a lot of effort from the Theta since they needed to connect to the Moon Goddess.
In doing so, they needed to wait until the moon shone through the sky.
"Oh, Fina. How are you?" Rosina asked while leaning back on the sofa.
"Your Majesty, I am fine, but how are you taking this situation?" Fina asked in concern. She panicked earlier when the woman appeared out of nowhere as if it was planned.
"Hmm, I’m good. As long as it’s resolved, then there’s nothing to worry about," Rosina stated with a shrug. She didn’t care how Draco processed everything, but she couldn’t ignore how her wolf howled in pain.
That also made Rosina’s heart feel pain and aching, but she tried to ignore them. She didn’t want to be seen as affected by the current situation since it would appear she was weak.
"Thank goodness. I will prepare some tea and warm milk for you, Your Majesty," Fina said with a bow before walking toward the kitchen.
