Chapter 26: The Queen’s Kiss

Rosina was frozen at her spot when the Queen stood in front of her. She could smell the sweet scent of strawberry coming from her.

"Raise your head, child," Cinzia Violante, the Queen, spoke softly with a smirk.

Rosina followed, lifted her head, and looked directly into the Queen’s eyes, staring back at her.

The Queen’s smirk grew, and she glanced at Rosina’s gown and figure. She touched Rosina’s cheeks, caressing them before kissing her forehead.

Rosina was shocked at the gesture and watched as the Queen winked at her before returning to the throne. She could hear the loud gasps and murmurs from the crowd, but she didn’t know the motive behind the Queen’s actions.

Rosina smiled before bowing again and returning to her assigned seat, which was in the first row. She saw how the King glanced at her with a small smile, which she smiled back and bowed her head in return.

"Let’s welcome the gentlemen!" the herald announced, and the door opened for male wolves to grace the monarchy.

Their presentation was different from the she-wolves. The first one to enter was the highest rank among the wolves.

Rosina’s eyes watched the first two men that led the two lines of wolves. A familiar scent hit her nose, and she realized their identity. Her eyes widened when the handsome man glanced at her and winked before bowing in front of the monarchy.

The blonde-haired man stepped in front, curtsied, and the herald announced their names.

"Crown Prince Gastone Violante!"

Gastone, aka Stone, gave a soft smile after fixing himself. "Your majesty, King and Queen Violante. I, the Crown Prince, had not yet found the mate destined to marry, but I met some decent ladies to get to know better in the following days.

"That’s great!" Rocco Violante, the King, laughed and smiled at his son. You could see the pride in the King and Queen’s eyes.

"Third Prince Drago Violante!"

Drago, aka Dragon, stepped forward to present himself. He smiled playfully and was about to speak when the King talked first.

"I expected you had found someone in this event, son," Rocco groaned and shook his head when Drago laughed playfully.

"Father, you won’t be disappointed, but I couldn’t present her today to you since I planned to ask for her hand from her parents first," Drago stated with a soft smile. His face showed that he was in love, making the King laugh, but the Queen glared and rolled her eyes toward Drago.

"Then I’ll wait patiently," Rocco smiled and gestured for them to proceed to the introduction.

Rosina stared at Draco’s figure sitting on the other side of the room. It didn’t take long before his eyes met hers. She immediately avoided his gaze and focused on the other men. That was when she realized that most men had their eyes on her.

’That’s why he was confident of killing since he’s a Prince,’ Rosina thought upon remembering what Draco did to Amato and Amo.

Rosina stayed still even though she was annoyed at the stares directed toward her. She decided to check Allegra and her minions around since her brother went missing overnight and Felissa was present at the event.

Rosina was worried that Allegra would come to Felissa and make a scene for her missing brother, but no matter how she looked around and searched for Allegra’s scent. There was none inside the room, but she saw Femia and Fulvia in the back row. They looked miserable with substantial black bags under their eyes.

Something clicked inside Rosina, and her eyes instantly went toward Draco, who was already looking at her. He smirked playfully and winked at her.

Rosina’s instinct told her that Draco was behind the disappearance of Allegra, and she wouldn’t be surprised if it was true, but she wanted to know why.

The introduction goes on, and several men presented the women they wanted to mate with and got the blessing from the monarchy.

Since there are around ninety participants in the event. It took a while for the event to end. Those who didn’t find any mates got bored from the long wait.

Rosina was sitting there and was fidgeting on her gown to kill her boredom. The person sitting next to her was ignoring her presence even when Rosina tried to have a conversation earlier.

Rosina’s eyes darted toward in front and to the man Draco was talking to. His hair was blonde like gold, and he had similar bright blue eyes.

’He’s the Crown Prince and Draco’s sibling. Did I meet him before? He looks familiar,’ Rosina thought and tried to remember the people she had met at the event.

’Gastone... Stone!’ Rosina gasped when she learned his real identity of Stone. The guy she thought was great to become mated with.

Rosina tried to stay composed even though she wanted to get out of the room. The amount of revelation and thinking was enough for her to feel tired.

"That concludes the end of the introduction. I hope all of you will find the one you’re destined to be with," King Rocco stated and exited the place immediately, leaving the Queen behind. It was evident that he was tired from sitting for hours.

The Queen forced a smile and went to entertain some noble ladies. Everyone bowed and started socializing. Rosina wanted to escape, but the Queen went toward her with a smile.

"Lady Rosina, do you know what it means if the Queen kissed a she-wolf during the introduction?" Queen Cinzia stated with a smirk.

"Your majesty, I don’t know what it means," Rosina answered truthfully since she had no clue what the kiss’s purpose was.

"It means you are the moon of the night. A fine lady so beautiful and elegant, like a rare gem in the midst of— " Queen Cinzia coughed as a cover from her words. "I hope you will find someone to mate with soon since you have my blessing."
