Chapter 251: The Royal Seal
Chapter 251: The Royal Seal
Rosina watched the Sabrecrown pack fall to its ruins. She looked far ahead where the pack houses of the other packs could be seen.
"Should I attack them or make them serve me?" Rosina muttered while rubbing her chin. Then she felt a pressure below her when a huge boulder was thrown her way. She tried to avoid it, but her left wing was hit on.
"Ah!" Rosina exclaimed, and she started to spiral downwards. She made sure to land safely on the ground. She looked at where the boulder came from but was shocked to see who was in front of her.
’Draco!’ Rosina thought in shock. She was surprised to see her mate, along with his troops. They were surrounding her.
"Where is Rosina? I know you have her!" Draco shouted and took a step forward. His troops were in their offensive action in case Rosina would attack.
Rosina tilted her in confusion, and she realized Draco didn’t recognize it was her. She didn’t mind it since her appearance was completely different.
"Why are you here?" Rosina asked and glanced at the Palace. She could see Gastone’s figure from afar, watching them. That got her a hint that Gastone might have manipulated Draco from attacking her.
Although, Rosina didn’t have the strength to admit it was her. She didn’t want Draco to see what she had become, specifically since she broke her promise to him.
"I’m here to get my mate!" Draco shouted and drew out his silver sword, aiming at her throat.
Rosina looked straight into Draco’s eyes and saw the fire of determination. She felt warmth in her heart, knowing Draco would do anything for her.
"I don’t have your mate," Rosina answered with a shrug, but Draco wouldn’t believe her.
"You’re lying! Rosina came here when you attacked this pack!" Draco shouted, and all his knights drew out their swords, forcing Rosina to surrender.
"I told you I don’t have your mate," Rosina rolled her eyes. She spread her arms and made several undead circles around them.
"I don’t have any business from you, Draco. I suggest you and your troops evacuate this place," Rosina stated, hoping Draco would stop pursuing what he intended to do. After all, she made the attack for his sake.
"I don’t receive orders from you," Draco furrowed his eyebrows while looking around the undead warriors and knights standing around them, but they weren’t moving.
Deep inside, Draco wanted to know the demon’s real intention.
Rosina sighed deeply. She felt trapped in a situation she couldn’t escape. She didn’t want to hurt any of them, but Rosina was willing to kill a few of them if they would become a hindrance.
"I told you many times. I don’t have your mate," Rosina crossed her arms while taking time to heal her wings.
"What did you attack this pack?" Draco asked to feed his curiosity.
"HAHAHA!" Rosina laughed loudly. Her eyes looked crazily before snapping her attention back to Draco. "Isn’t it obvious? I’m here to take Sabrecrown," she stated with a smirk.
The troops looked at one another since they both had the same goal, which meant Rosina was an enemy in their eyes, a competitor.
Draco’s face hardened, and after a few seconds, he lowered his sword. "After you take this pack. What will you do next?" he asked.
Rosina was taken aback by Draco’s question. She kept staring at him to know what was on his mind, but he was harder to read.
"Does it matter?" Rosina asked with a smirk. She wanted to act like a bad person and wanted Draco to fight her in the end. Then she would act dead and give Draco the leadership before showing herself.
But Rosina was worried about one thing.
She didn’t know if she could go back to her human form.
Draco raised his hand, signalling his troops to lower their sword and retract their claws.
"Yes, we have the same motive in this pack, but you’re able to invade first. Let’s team up," Draco stated firmly and extended his hand for a shake. His troops were shocked at his bravery while facing the monstrous face of Rosina.
Rosina smiled sweetly. She looked at Draco’s hand waiting for her, but she didn’t touch him because if she did, he would know that she was Rosina.
"I don’t mind teaming up with you, but don’t become a burden to my plans," Rosina stated firmly before spreading her healed wings and flying to the sky.
Draco looked up and saw Rosina fly toward the Palace. The undead around them followed her as well, ignoring his troops.
"Draco, are you sure about this?" Bertrando whispered while glancing around. He could feel his body hair standing at the sight of the undead.
"If that woman doesn’t have plans to harm us. Then we should take advantage of it, or we’ll be dead as well," Draco replied and started walking to the Palace.
Draco wanted to use the opportunity to let someone dirty their hands. He wasn’t naive to think he could beat their enemy, and his top priority was finding Rosina. He believed Gastone kept Rosina hidden and used him as bait to kill the demon attacking the Sabrecrown pack.
"We must find Rosina at all costs. We can deal with that demon later," Draco stated, letting his high ranking men command the troops in groups to spread out when they reached the Palace.
The knights kept using all their weapons, but they did nothing. In the end, they were killed and turned into undead.
Draco noticed that the undead was ignoring him and his troops, letting them roam freely, which was frightening initially. He didn’t waste time before barging inside Gastone’s room.
"I’ll give you the crown! Please, don’t kill me!" Gastone exclaimed as tears and snot streamed down his face. He was afraid his life would end that way. He lowered his pride and gave up his crown, hoping it would save him.
Rosina smiled and dragged Gastone toward the table where the royal seal was located. She knew Draco was at the door but chose to ignore him. Her focus was on making Gastone’s title transferred to Draco.
"You make the right decision, Gastone," Rosina stated with a grin before taking a blank paper and the file that contained Gastone’s name as the Crown Prince. "You know what to do," she added.
Rosina flicked her finger, and a chain appeared on Gastone’s neck, binding him to their deal.
Gastone sat on the sofa and grabbed the feather with trembling hands. He dipped it into the ink but stopped since he didn’t know what to write. He looked at Rosina with tears in his eyes.
"I... I don’t know...." Gastone muttered with helpless eyes.
Rosina slammed her hands into the table and growled at him, showing her pointed teeth and elongated tongue.
"Use that brain of yours, or I’ll make you an undead for you to work properly," Rosina whispered menacingly, which made Gastone shiver in fear.
Gastone started writing a will about him transferring his title as the Crown Prince to Draco, his brother. Then put the royal seal with red ink on the side. He added the paper to the file and put his signature, proving he was willing to give up his crown.
Gastone felt like the world, and the Moon Goddess abandoned him for good. His eyes became hazy as he was getting nauseous.
"My parents are still alive... They will come... back," Gastone whispered before losing consciousness.
Rosina took the file with a smirk. She ensured that everything was in place and that no mistake was in the letter.
"What are you doing?" Draco finally asked. He was alone since he made his men wait outside.
"I’ve done my part. It’s over now," Rosina stated with an evil laugh and waved the letter, but Draco didn’t know what it was. She walked toward him and slammed the letter into Draco’s chest before leaving the room.
Rosina planned to search for the Monarchs and other nobles who might oppose Draco’s leadership. Then there were the other remaining packs.
Draco looked at the paper and read what was stated. His eyes grew wider when he knew the title of the Crown Prince was his.
"Who are you!?" Draco shouted, but when he looked back, Rosina was nowhere to be found.
Draco was about to find Rosina when a series of growls echoed outside. He went to the balcony and saw the wolves from other packs fighting the undead.
"The reinforcement arrived!" Draco exclaimed and gritted his teeth. He rolled the letter and put it on his chest before jumping down as a shortcut.
"Your Highness, what should we do?" Gino approached Draco with a worried look.
"We will talk to their captain if they try to fight us. We have no choice but to kill them," Draco replied with a glare.
"Then how about those monsters?" Gino asked since he was still concerned about them.
"Don’t worry. They are our allies," Draco replied and patted Gino’s shoulder before walking toward the gate to meet the captain.
