Chapter 250: The Monster to Kill
Chapter 250: The Monster to Kill
Draco left the pack house and saw the Blood Moon shining through the realm. He was suddenly nervous since he was concerned about Rosina’s well-being.
"Something is happening in this realm," Draco muttered and looked at his men, preparing themselves for battle.
"Draco," Bertrando called out. He went beside Draco and gazed at the Moon. "Will we continue our plan?" he asked in concern.
"Yes, we will. The Blood Moon will strengthen our forces," Draco replied and headed out to where his troops were waiting for him.
Their bodies started to change. Their muscles became bulkier than usual, making their physical strength enormous.
"We shall go to the Sabrecrown right now!" Draco exclaimed in a firm voice to show his dominance. Everyone nodded their head in agreement.
"To Victory!!!" Draco screamed and was followed by his men.
They ran to the Sabrecrown pack through the forest and avoided the other packs on their way.
After an hour of continuous running, they saw a pile of smoke forming in the sky and a red hue on the bottom.
"What is happening!?" Bertrando stated when he saw the sky.
"Fire... The Sabrecrown is on fire!" Draco replied, and his heart began beating loudly. His mind went straight to Rosina if she was involved in what was happening.
"We should take advantage of this," Cirino stated with delight since the Sabrecrown was already in shambles if they arrived soon.
"Cirino, can you mind linking your mate and ask if Rosina is still in her room," Draco stated firmly. He prayed to the Moon Goddess that Rosina wouldn’t betray her promise.
Cirino nodded before he stared into space. He mind linked Tonia and asked about Rosina’s condition.
On the other side, Tonia went to the prayer room and saw the two guards lying unconscious on the floor. She panicked and tried to open the door, but it was locked. She bent down and checked the gap.
’Rosina is still here,’ Tonia mind linked back in relief. She tried to wake up the two guards, but they were unresponsive. Although. She didn’t pay too much attention to it.
Cirino informed Draco about Rosina.
"I see," Draco nodded, but his wolf was not convinced. It wanted to see their mate so badly to ensure her safety.
Draco and his troops continued running. When they got closer to the Sabrecrown’s border. A group of five knights approached them.
Instantly, the 13th pack warriors went into a defensive position, but the knights stood still. Their eyes stared at Draco, and they knelt on the ground.
"Your Highness, Prince Draco. We have a message for you," a knight in the middle stated.
"What is it?" Draco raised his hand to signal his troops to remain calm. He was observing the knights since there might be a hidden motive behind their actions.
Draco saw the knights body were shaking. Their eyes were full of tears, but their facial expression was the most concerning.
"Prince Gastone informed us to relay a message to you. He said you should get your wife," the knight replied. He didn’t know its meaning, but he wanted the war to end.
Draco’s mouth hung open in surprise that Rosina was involved again. He stared at his men, who heard the conversation, especially Cirino.
"My mate saw a figure inside the room where Rosina was supposed to be sitting," Cirino stated since everyone looked at him for an explanation.
"Can you contact Tonia again? Relay the message to me afterwards. Tell her to make sure Rosina was indeed inside," Draco stated frantically. He didn’t like what was happening.
"Your Highness, please come with us!" the knight exclaimed while still kneeling.
Draco gritted his teeth. He was irritated by Gastone’s use of his mate’s name to lure him out. He looked at his troops and didn’t want to risk their lives if something happened to him.
"Cirino and Gino, come with me. The rest of you stay outside the border. Wait for us," Draco announced, and everyone followed.
"Thank you! Your Highness!" the knights cried out before they stood up and led Draco inside the Palace using the secret tunnel, which meant they couldn’t see the undead.
It took a bit of time before Draco arrived inside the Palace. The knight opened the door, and inside was Gastone staring emotionless at the table.
"Gastone, where is my wife!?" Draco shouted and grasped Gastone’s collar, pulling him close.
"Brother! Your back!!!" Gastone shouted and hugged Draco tightly, but he was pushed back.
"Where is my wife!!!?" Draco shouted again, but Gastone only laughed at him.
"Come with me," Gastone gestured for Draco to follow him on the balcony to show what was happening to the pack.
Draco fisted his hands but complied since he needed answers. He went outside and gasped at what he saw.
"What... What are those?" Draco asked and glanced at Gastone, who looked traumatized.
Cirino and Gino followed outside the balcony to see what was happening.
"Ah! Monsters!" Gino screamed and staggered backwards.
Draco inhaled to calm his raging heart. "I ask you again, Gastone. Where is my wife!?" he asked impatiently.
"I can ask you the same thing. You should have to keep her by your side most of the time," Gastone said nonchalantly.
"YOU!!!" Draco lost his patience and was about to punch Gastone when Cirino spoke.
"Draco, I received Tonia’s mind link," Cirino stated with a trembling voice.
"What?" Draco asked and lowered his fist that was an inch distance from Gastone’s cheeks.
"The two guards are unconscious when Tonia arrives at the room, and they won’t wake up no matter how much she tries. The door room was locked, but she could see a figure inside. Since we mind linked her again. Tonia forcefully rips the door open, and inside is... Vanda," Cirino informed as he turned pale. Tonia was screaming in the mind link and blamed herself for being irresponsible, which added to his stress.
"Vanda," Draco whispered in disbelief. His chest felt pain, knowing Rosina didn’t keep her promise.
Draco faced Gastone. This time, he was more collected and calm.
"Gastone, tell me, where is my wife, Rosina?" Draco asked slowly. He was trying not to get angry, but he couldn’t help to feel frustrated.
Gastone opened his mouth to tell Draco the truth, but he held back. He looked at the chaos before him that looked like he was already in hell.
The knights tried their best to prevent the undead from entering the Palace, but it wouldn’t take long before they were defeated. The other nobles already flee to the forest, along with the Monarchs.
"Rosina... is captured by those monsters," Gastone pointed toward the undead with a trembling finger.
Draco gritted his teeth while looking at the undead, killing the knights gradually. "This kind of monster must have a leader. Do you know who it is?" he asked.
Gastone’s eyes widened, and he had a cold sweat. He raised his arms and pointed to the sky. From afar was Rosina’s demon form that had no resemblance to her original physical form.
"What kind of monster is that!?" Gino exclaimed in shock since it was the first time they saw someone looking so horrid.
"It’s... a demon," Gastone whispered and closed his eyes while gathering the strength to face Draco. He wasn’t naive to Rosina’s plan.
Gastone knew that Rosina wanted to claim the Sabrecrown pack and give the leadership to Draco. He didn’t want to give up his crown and would do everything to keep it under his hand. For him, he was willing to make Draco kill his own mate for his own gain.
"How do you know?" Draco asked with a squinted look. He was curious about Gastone’s actions and wanted to ask more questions when the gate burst open, and the undead army crept inside, looking for their next meal.
"Sh^t," Draco cursed and ran inside the Palace, but saw Gastone kept staring at them. He grabbed Gastone’s arm and dragged him inside.
Gino and Cirino were breathing heavily. They couldn’t believe what they saw.
"Why are they attacking Sabrecrown anyway?" Gino asked while walking back and forth. He was worried about his family living in the pack since he couldn’t contact them.
All eyes went to Gastone to see if he had any answers, but he shook his head.
"We need to stop the master for this to end. I want Rosina back," Draco stated firmly. He pushed the thought that Rosina broke her promise and focused on finding a way to defeat the master.
"Gino, inform the others about Sabrecrown’s current situation and our plan to fight back," Draco stated and glanced back at the window. He saw the demon’s figure flying back to the palace grounds.
"Your Highness, your life will be endangered if you fight this war. Our numbers are not enough to stop them," Gino stated in concern.
"No, all I want is Rosina. This pack can burn to hell," Draco spoke with hatred and looked at Gastone. "You can always have your crown, Gastone. No one will take it from you. Good luck," he added before going out of the room.
