Chapter 244: The Versions

Orso’s consciousness was going in and out due to blood loss, but he was trying his best to stay awake for his sister, Ara.

Rosina grinned. For her, killing Orso instantly was a blessing. She wanted him to suffer until the very end of his life.

"Ara, will you be a good girl and come to me?" Rosina gestured for her to come closer with her index finger.

"Ara... go... run," Orso whispered helplessly. He didn’t want to give up so fast.

Rosina rolled her eyes. She was getting impatient since she took some time playing with them. She grabbed Ara’s hair, pulling her back when she tried to run away.

"Times up. You two don’t deserve another minute," Rosina stated and faced Orso, who was crying.

"Ple-please... Let my... sis-sister go," Orso whispered in desperation. His tearful eyes stared at Ara, who was struggling to break free from Rosina’s grasp.

"Let me gooo!" Ara screamed loudly in a high-pitched tone, which hurt Rosina’s ears.

"Aist!" Rosina sneered in anger, which made Ara shut up.

"Let me show you the result of your betrayal, Orso," Rosina stated menacingly. She lifted Ara by her neck and used her other hand to pinch her chin, forcing Ara’s mouth open.

"No... please, no. NO!!!" Orso screamed, using his remaining strength. He watched as his sister’s life was taken from her own body.

Rosina’s mouth opened, and she inhaled Ara’s soul in the form of a white cloud of smoke; entering her body. Her wasted energy was revived, and she felt renewed.

"NOOO!!!" Orso screamed one last time before his body limped when he saw Ara’s body turned mummified. He was devastated to see his sister killed, and he couldn’t do anything.

Rosina inhaled in satisfaction after she absorbed every bit of Ara’s soul into her body. She flicked her finger and removed her power, holding Orso down.

Orso’s body slumped to the ground. He could barely lift his head from weakness.

"Here’s your sister," Rosina stated and placed Ara’s mummified-looking body beside Orso.

Orso cried silently while gazing at his sister with blurry eyes. He forcefully lifted his hand and caressed Ara’s cheeks.

"You’re... a monster," Orso whispered lowly. His voice was so weak that a regular wolf wouldn’t hear him, but Rosina did.

"HAHAHAHAHA!!!!" Rosina laughed so loud. She glared at Orso, and her eyes glowed brighter. "It’s amusing how everyone thinks I’m the monster. I’m not born this way. You and all those sh^ts I killed and about to kill made me who I am today," she added.

Rosina’s voice vibrated as she said those words. All of her past hunted her, but now. She embraced them like a cloud of cold pillows on a warm night.

But that didn’t mean Rosina would forgive those who did her harm. She wanted revenge, and she liked it sweet.

Orso glared at Rosina, but he had no strength to speak. He wanted to spend his last moment with his sister and ignored Rosina. It pained him to see what Ara had become, and it was more painful than his physical wound.

"Kill me... please," Orso whispered silently. He didn’t want to suffer any longer since it brought him pain to see what his sister experienced because of him.

Rosina looked at Orso with no emotions on her face. She felt nothing for him; even her rage disappeared. She was like an empty shell that stared at a pest.

"No, you die," Rosina stated nonchalantly and watched as Orso’s soul left his body slowly, letting him feel both physical and emotional pain.

"This is what you deserve for betraying me," Rosina stated. Her voice was full of hatred and disgust.

Rosina’s body felt drained and tired of everything. She wanted to feel at peace and live her life away from all the drama.

"Ah! I hate this place," Rosina muttered and looked at the broken ceiling.

"But this place can feed you blood and flesh," a voice echoed behind Rosina. The bright room darkened as all the candle’s fire died, and the windows closed, dimming the area.

Rosina turned and saw a tiny girl wearing tattered clothes with handcuffs on both her wrists and ankles. She had scars and bruises on her frail body.

"You," Rosina took a step back since she saw her younger version, where she was battered by Cleto every day like a bag of rice. Her head started aching when she tried to avoid her since it was the usual thing she did.

Rosina turned around and saw another girl. This time, she was a bit taller and was holding a cloth.

"Revenge for our baby. Nobody deserves a happy ending," her version stated.

Rosina remained silent. Since she unlocked the memory and let it consume her. The versions of her past could freely show themselves, waiting to be accepted.

"I-" Rosina took a step backwards and felt intense energy. She glanced back, and a new version of herself appeared.

"For our mate," the version stated. It was Rosina’s self before she died, and she was reborn into a new rendition of herself.

That version was Rosina’s weakness. It was the time when she lost hope to live and accepted death. That was her limit.

A tear streamed down Rosina’s eyes. She walked into the third version and couldn’t help but cry.

"We found him," Rosina whispered with a cheerful smile, pertaining to Draco.

The version smiled back and looked at Rosina’s womb. "You will be a great mother," she said.

All three versions of Rosina’s part came forward and touched her body.

"Accept us," they said in unison.

Rosina closed her eyes. She didn’t want to run away anymore. She wanted to face her fears and embrace who she really was without hiding them.

"I accept all of you," Rosina whispered with a sigh of peace. She felt a heavy burden lifted from her mind and chest.

The three versions beamed with happiness before their body glowed in bright light and became an orb of soul, entering Rosina’s body.

All of them became one.
