Chapter 236: The Worries of Both
Rosina was pacing back and forth inside her old room since the darkness comforted her troubled mind.
"What should I do?" Rosina whispered to herself while biting her nails. She had been thinking of a plan for the last two days, but nothing better would come out of her head.
"Rosina, are you in there?" Draco’s worried voice called out behind the metal door. He knocked twice and leaned his ears to hear if Rosina was inside.
"Ah... yeah?" Rosina replied and opened the door. She put on a cheerful face and made sure it would look natural.
"Are you okay? I notice you have been distant quite a bit," Draco stated softly and looked at Rosina’s body to see if she was unhealthy.
"I’m just worried about the war. I want this to be over," Rosina sighed and rested her head on Draco’s chest.
"I see. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything," Draco replied and patted Rosina’s head. "Also, I saw something in your bag. I didn’t pry, though. When I lifted it up, this fell over," he said and showed Rosina a piece of paper.
Rosina looked up, and her eyes widened. It was the poster from the Sabrecrown, which showed she was wanted.
"Have you looked at it?" Rosina asked and stared at Draco, to which he nodded.
"I don’t know what to say or question about this," Draco sighed and opened the poster, which showed the number of coins on Rosina’s head. "But this is a tempting amount of money placed on your head," he added.
"I know. I’m not that cheap," Rosina shrugged and didn’t make it a big deal.
"Do you know what will happen if this reaches our pack members?" Draco asked. He wanted to make Rosina understand the situation she was in.
Rosina furrowed her eyebrows and thought about it. "Are you saying that perhaps a wolf will be interested in the money and tell the Sabrecrown where I am?" she asked.
"Exactly. Even though they are our men, we can’t know what’s happening in their minds. Many have fallen into the betrayal of the person they thought they could trust. I want to be careful at all costs and keep you safe," Draco stated, tearing the poster apart and crumpling it to pieces.
Rosina pursed her lips while looking at the paper. She remembered what Orso did, which boiled her blood with rage.
"Don’t worry, I’ll take care of my issues. You must focus on the bigger picture, Draco," Rosina smiled and patted Draco’s shoulder.
"Yes, I know. I’m here to tell you about our next plan," Draco replied and pulled Rosina out of the darkroom since he didn’t like the aura inside.
"Okay," Rosina followed him and led her outside, where the knights and warriors had been preparing themselves.
"We plan to attack the Sabrecrown pack. If we attack the 10th pack, they will surely prepare for our arrival, which can lessen our chances of winning, especially since the Palace had put a notice. The best move will be going to the crown," Draco explained and waited for Rosina’s thoughts. He saw her expression harden.
"I see, but there’s a higher chance that you will fail. Numbers aside, the Sabrecrown is not an easy enemy," Rosina stated and looked at the orange sky.
"I know, but I’m willing to take the gamble," Draco replied and sighed deeply. He fidgeted his fingers and showed his worries to Rosina.
"I understand," Rosina grabbed his hand and pressed it slightly. "I’ll be here to support you," she said with a smile.
"About that... Rosina, I want you to stay here when we go to war with the Sabrecrown," Draco stated and grabbed Rosina’s wrist to make her stay in case she walked out.
"What? Why?" Rosina stated furiously. She couldn’t believe Draco would want her to stay.
"I know you are a skilled wolf, but this war is more dangerous. I want you to be safe, no matter what," Draco stated firmly. He was serious about letting Rosina stay in the 12th or 13th pack.
"No, I want to come. I will be a valuable warrior in the troop," Rosina insisted. She knew Draco and his men would be on the losing end if she didn’t come with them.
"Rosina, I have so many questions in my mind as to who you really are. I don’t want to pressure you and wait until you tell me the truth. Aside from that, I don’t want the Palace to know you’re not a regular werewolf. Goddess knows what they will do to you," Draco said seriously. He always let Rosina get away with what she wanted to do, but this time. He wanted her to follow his command.
Rosina pursed her lips. She stared into Draco’s eyes and saw that she had no escape from their conversation.
"When will you attack the Palace?" Rosina asked and looked away.
"In two days. We will blend into the darkness and hit the province side of the Sabrecrown before going to the city and go straight to the Palace," Draco replied.
"What if you go straight to the Palace? Seizing the Monarchs is much faster to gain victory," Rosina replied with a curious glance.
"That is a good plan too, but the pack members will not back down and surrender. They will fight until the end, which can lead to freeing the Monarchs, but if there are no pack members left. The Monarchs will do nothing but surrender," Draco replied, which made Rosina nod.
"I see. It’s a tough thing to do. I wish you good luck. May the Moon Goddess bless you," Rosina said and caressed Draco’s face before kissing him.
"You are enough to be my lucky charm. I will make sure to win this war, Rosina, and give you the whole realm," Draco stated lovingly before kissing Rosina’s knuckle passionately.
Rosina breathed slowly, letting out her worries. She wanted to know if it was the being’s plan to let Draco attack the Sabrecrown, but if it was, the Blood Moon would occur, and Rosina didn’t want that to happen by the time Draco was in action since it would endanger his life.
