Chapter 226: The Jealousy
Chapter 226: The Jealousy
Rosina pursed her lips to stop laughing, but she couldn’t. She burst out and nearly fell to the floor as she couldn’t contain herself.
"Ah, what a letter," Rosina wiped the tears from her eyes and composed herself. "They were suspecting me, along with the 13th pack. Well, they are not wrong," she added.
Rosina folded the letter and inserted it back into the envelope. She walked toward the pack house and saw the warriors and other knights acting like good pack members.
When they saw her, their defensive drama broke. They sighed in relief they no longer had to work for that.
Rosina gestured to them that the plan failed by making an ’X’ with her arms. She proceeded to the pack house, where Draco was waiting at the entrance.
Draco looked at Rosina wearing his wig. He smiled since she looked beautiful wearing it.
"No one came?" Draco asked as he approached Rosina on the way.
"Someone did. It’s your brother," Rosina smiled menacingly. She could see how Draco’s eyebrows furrowed together.
"Who?" Draco asked curiously as they entered the pack house and went straight to the living room where Natale and Silvio were waiting.
"Rosina," Natale said when she saw her daughter coming in.
Rosina nodded at her as she sat down on the sofa. She took out the letter and placed it on the table.
"Prince Luron came to the borders alone and handed me this letter. He was about to enter the pack and visit, but he changed his mind and ran away," Rosina informed with a shrug. She didn’t know the reason for Luron’s action, but she didn’t care to know.
"Luron!?" Draco exclaimed in surprise. "Are you sure he’s the one who came here?" he asked.
"Yes, I know, and I’m sure of it," Rosina rolled her eyes since Draco doubted her words.
"Luron has been imprisoned in the Palace dungeon for years. How come he— Wait, how did you know it was him?" Draco asked when he realized Rosina’s word of choice.
Rosina shrugged and focused back on the letter. "Read this, and you will know," she said and leaned back.
Draco remembered what his Beta told him about what had happened to the Sabrecrown Palace and Rosina’s involvement. He didn’t pay attention to it since he didn’t believe it was Rosina’s doing, but hearing what she said then showed that it was really her.
"What?" Rosina asked when she noticed that Draco had been staring at her with a look of disbelief.
"Nothing. I assumed you met Luron back in the dungeon," Draco stated with a laugh and pulled the letter toward him and unfolded it.
Rosina didn’t answer and shrugged it off.
Draco started reading the letter and passed it to Natale, which she and Silvio read.
"They were suspecting the 12th pack for hiding Rosina," Natale muttered and looked at her daughter. She didn’t know what Rosina had been doing all along, but she got a hint that she had changed so far and wasn’t questioning it.
"Hmm, seems like it, but overall. They are getting cautious," Draco replied and hummed. He was thinking of their next step since they acquired the 11th pack. Their goal was to set foot into the 10th pack, but since the letter was delivered.
All packs would double the security of their borders.
"Do you have any plans?" Natale asked and glanced at her daughter. Somehow, she felt proud to see the personality development of Rosina, not knowing she had that attitude from the trauma she received from her dark past.
Natale thought Rosina had healed from all the abuse she had gotten when she was a child. Little did she know that Rosina was not the daughter she once knew.
"Attack the 10th pack before they strengthen their base," Draco answered and glanced at Rosina, who didn’t react.
Rosina began to fidget with her fingers. She was okay with Draco’s plan but worried about what Vanda had told her. She glanced at the window behind them that showed the dark cloud in the early morning.
"When will you plan to attack?" Rosina asked and looked at Draco.
"Tonight. The 10th pack might still be preparing. We need to attack when they are still weak," Draco replied, but their attention shifted to Silvio, who cleared his throat.
"Your Highnesses," Silvio greeted and looked at Draco and Rosina. "I don’t think we can go with the plan," he said softly.
"How’re the warriors?" Draco asked in curiosity. He knew the warriors were still drained from the last battle and needed rest to regain their strength.
"Many are still healing, Your Highness. If the plan continues, several warrior wolves and knights will be removed since they still have recovery injuries. This will lessen the manpower and might affect the battle," Silvio explained slowly and ensured his words were clear and precise.
"I see. Thank you for that, Silvio," Draco nodded in approval. He didn’t want to force his troops, too, since he didn’t want them to die a useless death.
All three of them glanced at Rosina, who was silent and kept fidgeting. Her facial expressions showed worry and anxiety.
Rosina was concerned about when the blood moon would arrive since she needed to be away from anyone as far as possible to create less damage.
"Rosina?" Draco asked and was about to touch her back, but she flinched away.
Rosina hurriedly stood up and forced a smile. "I think it’s better to hold on for a while and focus on strengthening our packs. We can think of a good plan soon," she said before leaving the room.
"Rosina, wait!" Draco called out, but she ignored him.
They knew something bothered Rosina, but they wanted to give her space. Although Draco was concerned that something happened between Rosina and Luron.
’I will kill that @sshole if he touches Rosina,’ Draco thought with rage, and his wolf agreed. He clenched his fists and smiled at Silvio and Natale before leaving to meet with Bertrando and Cirino.
