Chapter 225: The Letter of Suspicion

Chapter 225: The Letter of Suspicion

Rosina drew an apple on the soil with a stick. She had been sitting at the edge of the 12th pack’s border wearing a blonde wig from Draco. She pulled the cloak closer to her body when the cold wind hit her skin.

"Ah, it’s freezing," Rosina whispered and shivered. She dropped the stick and leaned back, looking at the grey clouds in the sky. "Looks like a storm is coming," she added.

Rosina had been sitting there for hours in that same place, and her back had been aching.

"Ugh, when will they come!?" Rosina groaned and stood up. She looked around to find an open space to lie on. She walked a few steps toward the area where the grass was thicker.

"This is the place," Rosina sighed with contentment as she lay on the soft grass and closed her eyes, feeling the coldness on her skin, but that didn’t bother her.

Rosina heightened her senses to know if someone was nearby. It was her gut feeling that someone from the Palace would check the Palecrest pack’s condition since the Beloric pack had been attacked based on the letter she wrote and put on Leo’s hand before his body was sent to the Sabrecrown, specifically to the Queen.

A snap of a twig was heard from afar, but Rosina was able to listen to it. She opened her eyes and stared in the direction where it originated. She took a big sniff to know the scent of the wolf.

"Ah, they’re here," Rosina stated and stood up. She fixed her hair and dusted the cloak she was wearing.

It didn’t take long before a figure arrived at the border’s edge. He was alone and wearing a dark robe that covered his face.

Rosina deepened her voice and acted as if she was in defence. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" she shouted and extended her claws.

"Drop your guard, pup. I am Prince Luron Violante of Sabrecrown pack," he stated firmly and showed his face.

Rosina raised an eyebrow. She remembered the man before her as he was the one who s3xually abused Sal in the cell, but she needed to act like it was her first time to meet him.

"I need to know if you’re telling the truth," Rosina stated fiercely and kept her guard up. "If you’re a Prince, why are you not riding a carriage? That’s suspicious," she added and gave a squinted look.

Luron flicked his tongue. He was pissed that Rosina didn’t believe him, but he couldn’t blame her since no royal family member would arrive at another pack without a royal carriage as a sign of status.

"Alright," Luron sighed in defeat and pulled out the Sabrecrown seal the Queen gave him to show to the packs he would visit as proof.

Rosina glanced at the seal and immediately retracted her claws. She lowered her head and stepped to the side.

"Your Highness, I’ll escort you to the pack house," Rosina stated and gestured for Luron to walk first since he had a higher status than her fake identity.

Luron nodded and was about to step forward when he felt his wolf cowered in fear. His goosebumps trailed all over his skin, and his spine felt an electric shock.

Overall, Luron felt fear coming inside the 12th pack. He was tasked to bring the letter to the Alphas from the Queen. He didn’t have problems entering the other packs, but knowing he would be joining the place where Rosina might be brought fear to his core.

Luron didn’t want to risk his life, especially since he was alone with no knights to save his life and didn’t have enough strength to fight on his own.

"Wait!" Luron exclaimed and stopped walking. He stared at Rosina’s face for a few seconds before deciding what to do.

Luron took two steps back and cleared his throat. He took something from his bag and gave it to Rosina.

"Give this letter to the Alpha and make sure he will read it since it’s a very important letter from the Sabrecrown pack," Luron stated firmly. He looked at Rosina’s face once more, and he concluded that he could trust her.

"This is a significant letter, Your Highness. You must deliver this letter yourself," Rosina stated and stepped back since she rejected the letter.

Rosina had planned to ambush anyone the Palace sent to the 12th pack, but Luron was backing out, which made Rosina’s plan to fail.

"No, I don’t need to bother with this anymore. My job is done," Luron stated and pushed the letter toward Rosina’s chest before turning around and walking away as fast as he could.

Rosina extended her hand to grab Luron, but it was too late. She couldn’t help but laugh at how Luron was dashing away from her.

"Well, he did the right thing. He just saved his own life," Rosina muttered while shaking her head in amusement. She looked at the letter while walking back to the pack house to tell them the plan had failed.

Rosina opened the letter carefully and look what was written inside. She immediately smelled Cinzia’s scent attached to the notes.

"Uhuh, seems like they took my threat seriously. Fascinating," Rosina muttered and flipped the letter, reading it.

’Dear Palecrest pack,

We are delighted to hear about your preparations for the war. I hope we get a good result from you after you attack the 13th pack. Your actions will significantly improve our winning outcomes.

We are here to inform you that our enemy started moving and killed Alpha Leo of the Beloric pack. We can’t connect to his son, Goron or his mate. We assumed they were dead, and our enemies now surrounded the pack.

We warn you to keep your guards up since they might attack anytime to strengthen their forces.

Also, we would like to hear if you have any news regarding your daughter.

Sincerely,

The Queen of Sabrecrown Pack’
