Chapter 223: The Theta Named Jelo [Reward Chapter]

Cinzia was pacing back and forth outside the given cell in the dungeon. They placed Leo’s mummified body there to hide from the public eye. She didn’t want another gossip to spread out regarding the Palace matters. She had also contained the servants that had seen the body in the cells.

"Tsk, where is that d^mb King!?" Cinzia whispered and kept on biting her nails due to anxiousness. She was waiting for Rocco, the King, to arrive after she asked the knight to inform him about what had happened.

A man went out of the room with a loud sigh. He was the Palace Theta and was assigned to check on Leo’s body.

"How is he, Jelo?" Cinzia asked frantically. She pushed Jelo to the corner, away from the knight’s ears.

"Your Majesty," Jelo said in a deep voice and looked down at the Queen’s hand placed on his chest.

"Oh," Cinzia realized what she had done and immediately stepped back with an awkward smile. She cleared her throat and acted as if nothing had happened. She glanced at the knights around and noticed they were not looking at them.

"What’s his status?" Cinzia stated firmly.

"Well, I’ll say it directly. He’s dying, and I don’t know if he will last till tomorrow," Jelo sighed. He did everything he could, but it wasn’t effective, no matter what type of medicine he used. He tried contacting Leo’s wolf to help heal his body, but he realized Leo’s wolf was nowhere to be found.

"Do you have a clue at the cause of his condition? This might be infectious," Cinzia stated in concern and started scratching her skin. She didn’t want to be infected by any disease.

"Well, I don’t know. This isn’t the first time that happened," Jelo whispered while rubbing his chin. He was thinking about the first time he had seen a body that looked precisely to Leo.

"What!? Why I didn’t know about it?" Cinzia gasped and felt betrayed that Jelo didn’t say a word.

"It was a worker in Heaven’s tavern. Her body was similar to Leo, but she was dead when her body arrived at my clinic. So we burned her body," Jelo informed and watched Cinzia irritated face.

"You must have gotten something before you burn her?" Cinzia crossed her arms over her chest.

"No, we don’t. Although, their features showed as if someone had sucked all of their souls. Since that woman is already dead, there’s nothing we can do, but the case with Alpha Leo is different. He’s still alive, and I noticed something," Jelo stated firmly. The two of them were immersed in the conversation that they didn’t notice someone approaching them.

"What did you notice?" a firm and deep voice spoke and caught everyone’s attention.

"Your Majesty, the King!" everyone stated and lowered their head to the highest Monarch in the realm, except Cinzia, who stood still.

"My King," Cinzia forced a smile and took a step back to create a massive gap between her and Jelo.

Rocco glanced at Cinzia but didn’t acknowledge her. His focus went to Jelo, who he waited to continue his words.

"Your Majesty, my King and Queen. Upon inspection of Alpha Leo’s body, I notice that his wolf is nowhere to be found as if it isn’t there in the first place," Jelo explained with lowered head.

"What do you mean?" Rocco asked further and walked forward toward the door. He wanted to see Alpha Leo’s condition. After all, they had known each other for long since they were young.

"Hmm, I don’t know if this is correct, but my conclusion was that Alpha Leo... has turned into a human," Jelo pursed his lips with his eyes tight shut. He didn’t know how the Monarchs would react, especially since the word ’human’ was involved.

Werewolves despised humans.

"What!?" Cinzia exclaimed in horror, but she immediately lowered her voice when Rocco looked at her with disgust since she acted outside her role as the Queen everyone looked up to.

"Explain further, Jelo and raise your head. You don’t need to bow," Rocco stated and gave Jelo a small smile before gesturing toward the knights to open the private cell door that contained Leo’s body.

Rocco entered, followed by Jelo. The knights stayed outside to give them privacy.

"Cinzia, come here," Rocco said firmly, demanding Cinzia to follow his command.

Cinzia gritted her teeth. She didn’t want to enter since Leo’s appearance was creeping her out. She was disgusted but couldn’t do anything other than follow Rocco’s words.

"Did the knights see the person who delivered the package?" Rocco asked while gazing at Leo’s body before him.

"It’s a woman. She wears a black hood covering her face so no one knows her identity. She rides the 10th pack’s carriage, which makes everyone not question her intentions. These are the information from the knights," Jelo replied as Rocco nodded his head.

"A woman?" Cinzia asked. She was behind the two men and made sure not to see Leo’s appearance. "She might be Rosina! She let the prisoners escape the dungeon. This may be her next step!" she exclaimed.

"Hmm," Rocco hummed. His appearance looked cold and unbothered, but inside he was thinking primarily about Draco’s condition since everyone thought he was dead.

"Do you have an idea why Princess Rosina is doing this? We need to gather all the information we need to find the answer to our questions," Jelo said and covered Leo’s body with a white cloth up to his chest.

"Hah! Maybe this is her revenge since Draco is already dead!" Cinzia exclaimed, and her voice sounded like she was sure of it. The next thing she knew, the pain was felt on her cheeks.

Rocco slapped her. He looked at her with distaste and anger, but he didn’t specify his reason because Cinzia knew it.

Jelo took a step back and turned around. He didn’t want to interfere with the couple and respected their private matters, but deep inside, he wanted to kill Rocco for hurting Cinzia.
