Chapter 222: The Package
Chapter 222: The Package
Cinzia, the Queen, combed her hair in front of the gigantic mirror. She had just woken up from sleep and was trying to calm down. She massaged her face, lifting the facial muscles upward for a youthful glow.
"Ah, today is a bright day. No more stress," Cinzia whispered and took a deep breath.
They had been working with the prisoners and made sure to keep them in place by torturing them. Some died in the process, but she didn’t care.
Cinzia’s day was ruined when all the captured prisoners said Rosina was the culprit behind the escape, and she initially thought that Rosina had died.
"That poor b^tch," Cinzia grumbled and held the comb too tight, causing the wood to break. She sighed deeply and let out a breath.
When Cinzia heard Rosina’s name being mentioned. It caused her too much stress knowing she should have killed her.
"Appol! Come here!" Cinzia shouted with a grumble. She called one of her minions, who was standing behind the door, waiting to be contacted by her master.
"Your Majesty, I’m here," Appol stated as she knelt on the floor in submissiveness.
"What’s the update for today?" Cinzia asked with a forced smile. She sniffed the scented candle beside her table to help her relax.
Appol pursed her lips. She was hesitant to answer, but she needed to. "Your Majesty, there’s a package waiting for you outside. The sender is from the 10th pack," she stated softly.
"A package!? Why didn’t you tell me instantly!" Cinzia shouted and threw the broken hairbrush into Appol’s head.
Appol braced for the impact since it wasn’t the first time the Queen hurt her. She couldn’t say anything or fight back since she was only a lowly wolf getting paid by the Monarchy.
It was Appol’s job, and she needed to suck it all in.
"Well, I need to see it as soon as possible!" Cinzia exclaimed and rolled her eyes. She flicked her fingers, calling the other three she-wolves.
They entered and immediately bowed. All four of them started working on the Queen’s attire that day until she was satisfied with the outcome.
If Cinzia was dissatisfied with their work. She wanted to redo everything no matter how long it took, and it bothered some members, especially if there was a meeting.
"Make it simple and quick! I need to see that package! For sure, it’s full of clothes and jewelry!" Cinzia exclaimed in excitement. Her minions fastened their movement, and a few minutes later, all was done.
"Tsk, you’re all useless!" Cinzia grumbled and looked at her reflection with a smug. She wasn’t pleased with her hair, but her clothes made her look expensive due to all the gems attached to the fabric.
Cinzia went out of the door in a hurry, and behind were her four minions. They were her servants and bodyguards as well. Although other Palace servants aided her with different needs, but she wanted to call for them instead, rather than tailing behind her.
"Ah, I wonder what’s the purpose of their gift," Cinzia muttered with delight and clasped her hands together. She looked out of the window and saw the vast rectangular box outside. It was made of wood and had a giant red ribbon in the middle.
"Ah, Alpha Leo is charming with this gift...." Cinzia stated softly with a flirty tone, but her expression changed to distaste as she whispered. "Unlike my husband."
Cinzia stopped walking as she took another deep breath and slowly let them out before she ruined her own day by thinking about the King.
"Let’s go," Cinzia muttered and strutted quickly outside.
The knights and servants around lowered their heads upon her arrival, which made her feel even better. She had always liked the power she held.
"Where is the sender?" Cinzia asked and looked around, but she saw no one.
"They left as soon as they delivered the gift. We didn’t open this since it was from the Alpha," the knight informed as he stepped to the side and let Cinzia look at the package, but they were still in front since they needed to protect the Queen in case the box that deadly things inside.
"What are you waiting for? Open it! Hurry! Tsk!" Cinzia shouted and smacked the knight’s head at the back. She was getting impatient, and that triggered her annoyance.
The knight sucked it up with a nod. Him and the other knights present went to lift the lid. It was heavy and was sealed tight.
"Oh, my goddess! You’re all bulky men, yet, struggle to open a simple lid!?" Cinzia shouted and gestured for the knights to hurry up, which they did since they didn’t want to experience Cinzia’s brutality.
The knights counted one to three before forcibly lifting the lid and throwing it at the back.
Cinzia immediately pushed the knights away to see what it was. Since the package was huge, they couldn’t see what was inside, and they needed to lean in closer.
"Just tip it over!" Cinzia shouted since she didn’t want to get her hands dirty.
The knights nodded and pushed the package over, and what they saw caused several servants watching to scream in fear.
Inside was a man with a mummified body. He looked like he had been dead for months to years, but he was still breathing.
"OH, GODDESS! HOW RUDE OF THEM TO SEND ME A CORPSE!!!" Cinzia screamed with anger and horror mixed together. She was breathing heavily since she was stressed out by what she saw. She turned around and was about to leave when a knight spoke.
"Your Majesty, this man is alive!" the knight said with a panic and cradled the man’s body in his lap.
"Should I care? Dug him his grave!" Cinzia rolled her eyes. She couldn’t look at the mummified man for another second since he disgusted her.
"Your Majesty... This is Alpha Leo of the Beloric pack!" the knights screamed and showed Cinzia the letter he found in the man’s hand.
