Chapter 217: The World Collapse [Reward Chapter]
"Ack! Motherf^cker!" Goron cursed as his body was thrown against the tree. He puked more blood from all the internal bleeding he got.
Draco stared at him with fierce eyes. His knuckles were full of blood and cut from the impact each time he beat Goron.
"Either you give up or keep fighting, but you already know the outcome of this fight," Draco stated and walked closer as Goron crawled backwards, but his back hit the tree.
"Haha! By this time. My father will reach the 10th pack to ask for help. You lose this time, Prince Draco," Goron said sarcastically and laughed joyfully.
"Do you think your life is worth all of this?" Draco asked in amusement. He knelt with one leg to match Goron’s head.
Goron’s lips trembled as his pride was acting up. He wanted to act tough and pushed himself with unrealistic thoughts.
Draco sighed as he could see the strong determination in Goron’s eyes. "I see. You’re not giving up. As much as I want to play with you. My time is limited," he said softly.
"You already lost the war, Prince Draco. You must accept it!" Goron shouted, and some blood spit onto Draco’s face.
Draco chuckled and wiped the blood away. "Well, I don’t give up that easily," he said before instantly putting his hand into Goron’s neck and adding a slight pressure.
"F^ck!" Goron cursed and grabbed Draco’s arm, pulling him away from him.
"I’m a little jealous of you and Beri’s interaction. I wish I could act cute with my mate, too," Draco stated with a grin.
"Ro-rosina?" Goron’s questioned and dug his claws into Draco’s skin in an attempt to set himself free.
Draco smiled. "Yes," he replied, and his smile vanished, replaced by a look of jealousy. "That’s why you should die. So that Beri will experience what it’s like to be miserable," he added.
"N-no! NO!" Goron shouted and struggled to escape when Beri’s image flashed in his mind. He had forgotten about her while he fought with Draco.
"Please, l-let me go. I w-won’t stop you a-anymore!" Goron pleaded with tears forming in his eyes, but Draco was heartless.
"Too late for that," Draco smiled evilly and leaned closer. "You waste my time fighting you, but since I’m a good person. I’ll make sure to kill as painlessly as possible," he said before tightening his hand on Goron’s neck.
Goron’s struggled to breathe. His saliva drooled as he forced his last strength to rip Draco’s hand from his neck, but it wasn’t enough. His eyes rolled back as his last struggle stopped when Draco snapped his neck.
Draco removed his hand and watched Goron’s body fall to the ground.
"I told you to stay in the room. This is the price you pay for being hard-headed," Draco stated before leaving the site and running to catch up with Leo.
On the other side, Beri was sitting on the sofa while praying to the Moon Goddess to protect Goron from harm.
"Moon Goddess, please," Beri whispered with tears in her eyes. Multiple scenarios played in her head when he felt a painful pang in his chest. She felt like someone had ripped her heart into pieces.
"Ah! What’s happening!?" Beri shouted as she fell down the sofa due to the extreme pain. She felt something snap inside her, the red string that bound mates together.
"Goddess!" Beri’s vision started to get blurry, and her consciousness was slipping in and out. At first, she was confused at the sudden feeling, but then she realized that she felt empty inside, as if half of her had died.
"N-no! No! Goron!" Beri screamed and lifted herself. Her body was trembling from losing strength, but that didn’t stop her from walking forward. She didn’t care about everything as her focus was finding Goron.
When Beri went out of the pack house. Dead bodies piled on the ground, coloring the glass red and their lifeless eyes stared at the moon shining brightly in the sky.
"You ignore my prayers, Moon Goddess," Beri whispered. She felt betrayed that no matter how much she begged for Goron’s protection, the Moon Goddess didn’t respond to her prayers.
Beri ignored the battle happening before her. She ventured toward the forest while following Goron’s scent that kept getting fainter. Her heartbeat began to fasten every time she took a step.
"Beri!" a voice screamed her name.
Beri turned around and saw her friend, who joined the battle.
"Oh goddess, you’re alive!" Beri exclaimed and was about to run toward her friend, but a gigantic wolf appeared and ate her friend, throwing her body to the side.
Beri took a step back with shaky eyes. She was shocked that a she-wolf she had known for years had died before her eyes.
The wolf that killed Beri’s friend growled at her but didn’t pursue her since he wasn’t done with his prey.
Beri’s ears started ringing, and she felt nauseous. She fell to the ground and puked all the food she had eaten earlier. The feeling overwhelmed her so much that it made her feel sick.
"I need to get away," Beri whispered and forced herself to start running, following Goron’s scent.
Draco’s men that were nearby, looked at Beri but didn’t attack her. Draco instructed them not to harm the pups and she-wolves except if they joined the battle and attacked them.
Beri continued running until she smelled Goron’s scent getting stronger. That was when she saw a hand behind the tree. She stopped running while preparing herself.
"Please... no," Beri closed her eyes to stop thinking about the worst-case scenario. She took slow steps and kept wishing she would still see Goron’s adorable smile she always loved.
"Goron, my love," Beri whispered as she reached the tree. Her world collapsed as she saw Goron’s lifeless body. "Oh, my goddess! Goron!!! Wah!" she screamed as tears burst from her eyes.
Beri knelt on the ground and cradled Goron’s body.
"Please wake up. Please, don’t leave me," Beri shook Goron’s body as she was still in denial and thought everything was a dream.
That was when Beri smelled Draco’s faint scent on Goron’s skin.
