Chapter 201: The Personal Guard
Chapter 201: The Personal Guard
Cleto’s face was torn at Natale’s words. He never expected her to speak hurtful words against him since he was used to her being submissive.
"Ah, that stings," Draco muttered while making a grimaced face. He had witnessed a break up of a couple that had been married for years, but he finally knew that Cleto and Natale weren’t mates, which he thought they were at first.
Cleto didn’t reply since his chest was in pain. He didn’t want to show them that he was affected by Natale’s words, but he didn’t have the strength to show any action. That made him remain silent.
"Proceed," Draco gestured toward his men to continue their fun with Cleto.
"Father! Mother is just a b^tch. Don’t mind her words!" Rico yelled angrily. He was expecting Cleto to react, but he received silence instead.
Duilio was about to put the mouth strap again, but Draco stopped him.
"Cleto doesn’t need that one anymore," Draco stated and leaned back as Duilio nodded and placed the item on the table.
Draco could see that Cleto was affected by what had happened. After all, it was a rejection on Natale’s part, but he was amused to know that Cleto was confident that his wife wouldn’t leave him even if he was trash.
"I’ll start," Biagio grabbed a dagger with a silver blade and stabbed Cleto’s thighs, but he did not react.
Cleto stared straight into space as if his soul had left his body.
Biagio and Duilio looked at one another before facing Draco.
"You can do what you want with him, but make sure he will live. It would be boring if he died immediately," Draco stated with a sigh before standing up since he needed to talk to Natale about the plan tomorrow.
"Yes, Your Highness," Biagio and Duilio nodded and bowed at Draco.
"Draco, you’re a f^cking monster! Let my father go!" Rico screamed so loud that it was painful to the ears.
Draco glanced back at Rico with a bored look. "I know," he replied before going outside.
Upon getting up to the pack house. Draco saw Natale sitting in the living room and crying. He envisioned her getting hurt from blurting out her emotions.
"Natale," Draco stated softly and sat on the sofa before Natale.
Natale looked up at him and wiped her tears. She didn’t recognize his presence since she was coping with her emotions.
"Draco, I apologize for my behaviour back there. I am on edge and can’t hold it anymore," Natale explained and gave Draco a sad smile.
"It’s alright. As long as you’re fine with it," Draco stated for comfort. He didn’t know much about comforting another person since his environment wasn’t as good.
"Thank you. Well, let’s skip this awkward stage of my relationship. Let’s talk about your plan and my role for tomorrow," Natale fixed herself and took a deep breath to focus on what they would talk about.
"Well, as I have stated. I need you to meet with the 11th pack’s representative. You can use my men as a decoy, but they will ask for Cleto’s appearance, which he can’t come, of course," Draco explained. He knew that Natale understood his point.
"I see. Then I can tell them that Cleto went to survey the 13th pack himself and other pack warriors with Rico," Natale stated in agreement.
"Is this the first time that the 11th pack visit?" Draco asked since it would be more complex if the 11th pack knew someone in the 12th pack and noticed that they were gone.
"Yes," Natale nodded.
"Okay. Then, it’s settled. I’ll assign a wolf guard for you. I hope this won’t hurt your feelings, but I’m trying to be careful," Draco stated softly and smiled. He still didn’t trust Natale completely, and he wouldn’t take a risk for everything.
"I’m fine with that," Natale stated. She understood Draco’s position but wouldn’t betray him since she didn’t want to get back in Cleto’s arms. Especially since she knew what would happen to her if Cleto regained his position as an Alpha or even as simple as escaping from Draco’s hands.
Draco blinked multiple times before using his energy to mind-link Silvio to come into the pack house. He assigned Silvio to guard the pack’s border to look out if an enemy decided to creep between the 12th and 13th pack’s forest.
After several minutes of waiting, Silvio arrived with sweat dripping from his forehead.
"Your Highness, I apologize for my late arrival," Silvio stated and bowed deeply to show his sincerity.
"I don’t mind it. I have a new task for you. This is Natale Greco, Rosina’s mother," Draco stated, gesturing toward Natale and introducing her.
Silvio glanced at the frail woman and immediately bowed. "Lu— Ma’am. I am Silvio Locatello, Princess Rosina’s personal guard," he stated with pride.
"Ah, Sir Silvio. Nice to finally meet you. I heard about your battle against the nobles to work under my daughter," Natale smiled widely. She was curious about what kind of person Silvio was when she heard about the gossip surrounding Rosina’s actions at that time. It was negative gossip, but she didn’t mind it.
"It’s an honor to become the Princess’s personal guard," Silvio replied with a firm voice.
"I hope she isn’t giving you a hard time," Natale giggled. She was only joking around to lighten up the atmosphere between them, but she noticed Silvio’s face hardened.
"Uh, yes. The Princess is.... Easy to deal with," Silvio pursed his lips and glanced at Draco. He couldn’t tell the truth to Natale’s face because he got a hint that Natale didn’t know about Rosina’s true nature and attitude.
"Ah, that’s a relief. Rosina has always been a good pup, and I hope she will live her life to the fullest," Natale said with a deep breath since tears threatened to drop. All she wanted was happiness for her beloved daughter. After all, she had been through a lot at the hands of her father.
