Chapter 198: The Leather Belt
Chapter 198: The Leather Belt
"Ah!!!" Draco shouted as he woke up in that same room. "Rosina! Rosina!" he turned around aggressively to look for his mate, but he was back in reality.
Before him was Vanda crouching down with a smile on her face.
"Welcome back, Draco," Vanda smiled at a knowing look. She waved at Draco to show that he was back.
Draco looked at her with wide eyes while his brain tried to register what had happened. He sat up and looked around the place.
"Did I fall asleep?" Draco asked and felt a terrible headache; his joints were aching, especially his hands.
"Hmm, you can guess," Vanda grinned and sat across from him. She watched as Draco tried to put the pieces together.
Draco looked at his hand. Part of his skin was reddish, and he could still feel the burn he got from touching the silver metal. That’s when he realized it wasn’t just a dream.
"It’s real," Draco gasped as realization befell him. He looked at Vanda as tears streamed down from his eyes. He didn’t want to cry and show his vulnerability, but he couldn’t help it, especially when memories of Rosina getting beat up by Cleto flashed into his mind.
Vanda smiled and nodded her head. "Well, you helped Rosina escape the abuse, but what happened next is still not a happy ending," she stated with a sigh.
Vanda grabbed a handkerchief from her pocket and gave it to Draco. "Don’t cry, or else I’ll feel bad," she stated and giggled.
"Thank you," Draco breathed deeply while wiping his tears with the handkerchief. "I-I just can’t believe what I have seen," he added.
"I know. It was tough to look at," Vanda agreed with a nod. She stood up and wore her black hood back. "Well, I need to go now. Say hi to Rosina for me," she went to the window’s opening and waved at Draco.
"Wait! I need to ask you something!" Draco yelled, but Vanda ignored him.
"Goodbye, Draco. That kiss was good, by the way," Vanda winked at him before letting herself fall.
Draco ran to grab her, but when he looked down. Vanda was nowhere to be found.
"What are you?" Draco whispered. He stepped back and sat on the ground, massaging his scalp. He was confused and anxious as well.
But Draco shrugged those questions since he had one thing on his mind.
"Cleto must pay for what he has done," Draco growled and fisted his hand so hard that it bled. His wolf was howling in pain and wanted to comfort their mate, but Rosina wasn’t there.
"Now, I understand a bit of her past, but what happened after she escaped this pack," Draco questioned himself, but there was no answer. He forced himself to stand up and walked out of the room, but he couldn’t help but look at the area where Rosina was lying in the past.
Draco looked at the rusted chains that were cut in half. His eyebrows furrowed as he picked it up, ignoring the string. His claw marks were there.
"Wait... That was in the past, but how did my actions affect the future?" Draco muttered in confusion. "Am I the reason why Rosina was able to escape? Ugh!"
Draco groaned and dropped the chains. That thought gave him a headache; he didn’t know what to think. The time frame between the two events was years, yet it was connected.
"Goddess, who are you, Vanda?" Draco sighed heavily to release his frustrations. He had so many questions regarding Vanda’s identity and how she was able to take his spirit away from his body.
Draco’s body shivered as he tried to shake the thought. He went out of the room with a heavy heart and carefully closed the door, but before he pushed the shelve back in place. He saw the candle he used.
"Your fire... died," Draco whispered, but he didn’t take it. He left it in there since it was part of what had happened.
Draco stepped back and looked at the shelve as if nothing was hidden behind it. He went to look into Cleto’s closet to search for an item.
"I will make sure to let you taste your own medicine," Draco stated with hatred while rummaging through Cleto’s clothes and other items until he wound a small drawer. He pulled it out, and a set of different kinds of belts were displayed.
"Guess you like belts so much," Draco commented with a scoff. He looked for the belt that was familiar to him until his eyes landed on the item in the middle. He took it out and felt the heaviness of the leather and metal bonded together.
Draco’s hands trembled as he tried whipping the belt’s edge on his skin. He instantly felt the pain, and by that, he understood Rosina’s pain, and he was amazed at how she handled each impact on her skin.
"You don’t deserve it, Rosina... You don’t," Draco whispered and breathed heavily since he could feel the tears threatening to come out. He felt weak and vulnerable.
Draco felt that he wasn’t a man for crying.
"Ugh," Draco removed his own belt and used Cleto’s belt instead. He saw the wine hidden in the cabinet and took two bottles with him.
Draco went downstairs and was approached by Cirino.
"Draco, we received news from the Scouts that the 11th pack were planning to visit the 12th pack tomorrow," Cirino informed with a troubled expression.
"Okay," Draco nodded and gave a bottle of wine to Cirino. "I found this in that f^cker’s room," he stated with pure hatred.
"Draco, we need to prepare for the arrival of the 11th pack!" Cirino exclaimed since he was nervous at the sudden information he received from the Scouts.
"Don’t worry. I have a plan," Draco replied and tapped Cirino’s shoulder before going to the dungeon’s location.
Cirino couldn’t help but notice the change in Draco’s aura, which screamed ’murder’.
