Chapter 194: The Palecrest Dungeon

Draco watched Bertrando’s form sleeping on the bed. He was having a cold sweat and was feverish.

"I want to know who was that," Cirino stated as he sighed deeply.

Draco had told Cirino what he and Bertrando had talked about in the forest.

"But we won’t be to know. Let’s be cautious if that person is one of us. It’s fine for now since our plans have been going smoothly," Draco stated and turned his back. There wreeTheta’s present in the room and tending to Bertrando’s needs to keep him alive.

"Should we proceed with our plan?" Cirino asked, which made Draco stop walking.

Draco looked back. He was hesitant to continue their plan of attacking the 11th pack, knowing Bertrando was ill and Rosina was nowhere to be found.

"Let’s wait and prepare for another two days. This will give us more time to set everything straight. For sure, the Palace is preparing as well," Draco replied before getting out of the door.

Bertrando was supposed to give commands to the 13th pack while Draco would work on the 12th pack, but since Bertrando was unwell, the responsibility fell into Cirino’s hands.

"Gino," Draco stated and immediately, a man with chocolate brown hair appeared on the side.

"Yes, Your Highness," Gino Luoni, Draco’s Beta, stated and lowered his head in respect.

"Go to the Sabrecrown Pack and mind-link me what was happening there. Make sure no one will notice you," Draco whispered and gave Gino a white ore that could help strengthen the mind-link from a distance and a black ore to remove Gino’s scent.

"I will not disappoint you, Your Highness," Gino bowed in respect before returning to his tent and preparing himself to leave immediately.

Draco’s men with ranks had been on standby. Even though it hurt their pride that they became weren’t the ones that were on duty with their given positions. They took it in since they trusted their leader, Draco, to set his foot into victory and take the crown of the Werewolf realm.

"I should go visit the prisoners," Draco muttered to himself before walking toward the 12th pack’s dungeon, where multiple cells were unoccupied primarily at first, but now, it was full of she-wolves and pups.

Draco lit the torch to give light to the place. The she-wolves cowered in fear and held their pups dearly. At the center of the room were the cells that contained Cleto, Natale and Rico. He made sure to put them in separate enclosures to avoid physical abuse from each other.

"Cleto, how are you?" Draco stated and kicked the cell to create a sound and woke up Celto, who was sleeping.

"Ah, the Prince is finally here," Cleto started laughing, but his side hurt from the wound he attained. He groaned in pain and cursed since his wolf was healing the cut slowly.

Rico and Natale had woken up as well and were staring at Draco.

"Are you here to brag about you getting this pack? The Palace won’t stay still after knowing what you have done! Haha!" Cleto exclaimed in amusement. He gave Draco a sneer before laying back on the ground. He was confident that the Sabrecrown would come to their aid after not receiving a reply from their letter.

The packs already discussed the possibility of the 13th pack attacking the 12th pack as their first target to gain power and reduce the manpower of the Sabrecrown.

The Palace had stated that if a pack couldn’t reply in three days, they had been attacking, and troops would be sent as aid and spy to see what had happened.

Little did Cleto know that Rosina had already handed the reply to the Queen, but Draco didn’t know about it.

"You seem confident," Draco commented when he noticed the relaxed aura between Cleto and Rico.

"Of course! Be ready because the Sabrecrown will come here and have your head on a silver platter," Rico stated with a huge grin as they started laughing, but Cleto looked at him in disbelief.

"I guess your son answered my question," Draco replied with a smirk, which caused Cleto to be irritated.

"You’re a f^cking useless son!" Cleto shouted and rammed the bars that separated him from Rico.

Rico yelped in surprise. He didn’t know what he had done wrong since he thought they were supposed to make Draco frightened for his own life.

"You just gave away our— never mind," Cleto sighed in disbelief. He looked at Draco with a taunting look. "I guess you need to prepare now," he laughed.

Draco’s face hardened, and he glanced at Natale, who remained silent in her cell. She looked at Draco with a soft gaze and gave him a smile.

"Hello," Natale stated, and her warm voice irritated Cleto.

Cleto’s arm went through the bars and was about to grab Natale’s hair and pull her toward him. He planned to beat the sh^t out of her for talking to Draco, their enemy, but Natale was able to crawl to the edge.

"Come here, b^tch!" Cleto shouted and tried to reach Natale, but she crawled away from him as far as she could in that tiny cage.

Draco saw it all, and he wasn’t naive to the gossip that surrounded the abuse surrounding the Alpha to his Luna.

"Stop your sh^t!" Draco shouted and kicked the cage in an attempt to stop Cleto.

Cleto growled at him for interrupting his business. No one had tried to stop him from abusing his wife except Rosina.

"RAWR!" Draco growled back louder, and his dominance seeped out from his pores. Even though Cleto was a previous Alpha, Draco was a Prince with a royal bloodline, far superior to most wolves.

"Keep your tail between your legs, Cleto. The only reason you’re still alive is that you are my mate’s father, and your life is for her to decide," Draco stated deep and firm, making sure his words were clear.

"HAHA! Ah, the little Prince is trying to be scary," Cleto scoffed and started laughing sarcastically toward the act of dominance from Draco. "Prince Draco, don’t forget that you’re only a third Prince with a blade on your neck," he stated, referring to the Queen plotting to end Draco’s life.

Draco sighed deeply to calm his emotions since he knew Cleto was triggering him, and he didn’t want Cleto to get the reaction he wanted to see.

"Well, you must also not forget that you only get that Alpha position because your wife is a noble. Without her, you are nothing but a low-ranking wolf that can be replaced any time of the day," Draco stated and looked at Cleto from top to bottom. He liked how Cleto’s face was torn with hatred and rage.

"YOU!" Cleto stood up and was about to grab Draco’s collar, but he couldn’t when Draco took a step back.

"Now, you are nothing without this pack, Cleto. Remember that," Draco added before opening Natale’s cell and extending his hand for her to take.

"Let me change you into a much farther cell," Draco whispered, pulling Natale upward when she grabbed him.

"B^tch! Stay on that freaking cage!" Cleto shouted and held on to the silver bars while trying to reach his wife.

Natale didn’t say a word or glance at her family. She followed Draco into the other cell, which was farthest from Cleto and closer to the entrance door of the dungeon.

"I can’t bring up upstairs since it will cause chaos among the other wolves. We need to wait for Rosina’s arrival before we decide what will happen to the pack members," Draco whispered softly before opening the cell and letting Natale enter.

"It’s alright. I don’t complain," Natale stated and placed herself at the edge to make herself comfortable.

Draco wanted to give Natale a blanket to fight the cold, but he didn’t want to be seen as someone that had favouritism. After all, they were all prisoners stripped from their rankings when the Palecrest pack lost the war.

"Okay," Draco nodded before getting out of the dungeon and glanced at Cleto and Rico, who were whispering to one another.

Draco sighed before closing the door, and the dungeon turned dark again. He placed the torch on the side before going out.

The Palecrest dungeon entrance was on the ground floor and led to the underground.

Draco came out of the entrance and breathed the fresh air. He looked back at the dark hallway before walking out. Since they postponed their plans to attack the 11th pack in two days. He decided to venture the whole pack house.

"This is my way to know Rosina’s background and to be closer to her," Draco muttered to himself before walking up back to Rosina’s room as his first place to check out.

"I hope I will find something that will make me understand you more, Rosina," Draco smiled sadly. He knew it was hard for him to communicate since Rosina didn’t tell him anything about her life.
