Chapter 186: The Innocent White Room
Chapter 186: The Innocent White Room
Rosina crossed her legs upon sitting on the sofa with a dead wolf lying on the floor in the living room. Before her was Draco standing while looking at her.
"Where should we start?" Rosina asked with a furrowed eyebrow, indicating for Draco to start explaining what had happened.
"Well, it’s simple," Draco shrugged and sat across Rosina. Both ignored the dead bodies lying nearby as if they were nothing but mere decorations.
"And what is it?" Rosina raised an eyebrow.
"Hmm, I talked with Bertrando and Cirino about you. We’re concerned about your well-being about going alone. We don’t know what your plans are. Aside from that, since the 12th pack will attack us, we decided to attack first without prior warning," Draco stated with pride as he watched Rosina’s lips purse in a thin line.
"Also, seems like the timing is perfect since the pack is busy with something," Draco added with a smirk. He knew that Rosina must have done something for the Palecrest pack members and even the Alpha to lower their guard that day.
Rosina scoffed and rolled her eyes. She knew Draco was playing mind games with her, but she wouldn’t take the bait. After all, she had sex with another man.
"Alright, I won’t ask," Draco raised both his hands in surrender since he didn’t want to put pressure on Rosina. Although, he couldn’t help but worry.
"I was surprised since I thought the 13th pack was preparing for defence, but I don’t hate the idea of attacking first since it was successful," Rosina stated, directing the topic away from her.
"Yes, indeed. Now, we have the 12th pack in our hands," Draco chuckled and stretched his body. "So, what should we do with your family. I want you to decide."
Rosina gulped. Deep inside, she wanted to kill Cleto, but she wouldn’t say it directly.
"Well, let them stay as a prisoner. We can think of something for them to be useful to us," Rosina stated flatly, showing no sign of love or remorse for her family.
"Alright, then I shall do that," Draco stood up to start working on the aftermath of the battle since they needed to clean up the mess.
"Leave the dead bodies in one place. Don’t burn or bury them," Rosina stated and followed Draco.
Draco looked back with a confused look. It was common practice between werewolves to set a funeral, if possible, for the dead since they were all going to the same place in the Moon Goddess realm.
"Why?" this time, Draco asked. He wanted to know the reason behind it.
Rosina bit the inner corner of her lips. She couldn’t tell Draco the truth. "Because I want to be the one to prepare their funeral," she stated, but it was a lie.
Draco smiled and pat Rosina’s head. "I will set them in the middle of the forest for privacy," he said before walking away.
Rosina waved him goodbye before her smile vanished. She hurriedly returned to Cleto’s office and grabbed the letter from the Palace.
"Okay, change of plans," Rosina sat on the chair and grabbed a paper from the cabinet. She took out the feather and dipped the tip in the blank ink.
[Your Majesty, your rewards are very flattering, but we need a lot of time to prepare. Our troops decided to expand our territory through the forest to reach the 13th pack, trap them and secure our victory. Give us fourteen days at most.]
Rosina finished the letter with the Palecrest seal to make it look formal. She put the letter inside the envelope and locked it tight. All she needed to do was deliver the letter to the Monarchs.
"So, how will I do it?" Rosina muttered and leaned back on the chair. She thought that if she decided to leave again, Draco would follow her.
Somehow, she regretted temporarily letting Draco into her life since all the rules they set in their contractual marriage vanished, and he became protective of her.
Rosina hated it.
"I could feel the chains in my neck," Rosina whispered and touched the skin of her neck, but no chain was in there. She closed her eyes and rested her mind.
"I needed to get away from here and avoid Draco," Rosina sighed deeply and looked at the letter. She glanced outside the huge window that overlooked the entire pack and saw the warriors cleaning up the dead bodies, carrying them to the forest.
"Another batch of warriors. Vanda will be glad to see this huge number," Rosina chuckled before leaving Cleto’s office.
On the same floor, Rosina was curious about what was inside Cleto and Natale’s room since she had never been there since she was young, or so she thought.
Rosina felt true freedom when she opened Cleto’s room which looked normal. The room was entirely white, from walls to types of furniture aside from one door, which had black paint.
"This is an unusual color for someone abusive. Too innocent," Rosina commented, indicating about the white color of Cleto’s room. She went ahead and opened the cabinets to see his wardrobe.
Rosina cracked her head and started digging into Cleto’s clothes and throwing them outside. She was searching for one thing in mind.
"Where is that box of gold?" Rosina uttered and opened another drawer. She was referring to the money that the Palace supplied to the Palecrest pack in preparation for the war.
"He doesn’t have a treasury because this pack is poor and struggling," Rosina whispered while rummaging through all of Cleto’s stuff without missing a piece, but she found no treasure. Although, she saw silver blades and a lot of wine hidden behind the closet.
Rosina was disappointed since she didn’t even find a single penny. Her eyes stared at the black door and kicked it open. Inside was Natale’s room, which looked the same as Cleto’s room, but a bit smaller.
Rosina was about to enter, but a stench stopped her from going inside. "Ugh, why does her room smell like this? It’s rotten!" she complained and was about to walk away when her gut feeling told her to come inside.
