Chapter 161: The Damsel In Distress
Rosina looked up at the sky and watched the bright moon shine above. She was currently in the forest decorated with white flowers attached to the trees with a black bow.
A white cloth was laid in front of her, leading to the altar where Pepe was waiting for her.
"Are you still sure about this?" Vanda asked Rosina. She was tasked to fix Rosina’s veil and gown behind her.
"Do you think I can do anything reckless without exposing what we are?" Rosina whispered back and gestured toward the men around them.
Four warrior wolves surrounded them to secure that they wouldn’t run away from the wedding and made sure that everything would go smoothly.
"Hmm," Vanda shrugged since she wasn’t the one getting married. "I hope whatever plan you have won’t backfire."
"I hope too," Rosina laughed nervously since she was betting everything to the plan where 60% might fail.
Rosina looked at the silver chains on her arms that were covered by the bouquet of white roses.
’Gosh, this looks more like a funeral than a wedding,’ Rosina thought and couldn’t help but laugh at her current situation.
Vanda looked at Rosina, laughing. "I see. You have finally lost your mind."
"Nah, I’m still far from the limit," Rosina laughed as she walked when the piano started. She strolled and made sure to spare more time for her plan to come.
Rosina looked at the pack members standing around and looked at her with pitied eyes. They knew what had happened inside the Castle, but they couldn’t go against Pepe since he was their King, and they had no place to go if they decided to leave the pack.
’Come on,’ Rosina thought and took a deep breath. Her eyes were looking over the dark forest, waiting for her savior. She was already pinched her finger on the rose’s thorn in case she failed and needed to escape by opening a portal when Pepe was about to mark her.
On the other hand, Vanda enjoyed the wedding since it was her first time attending one.
Pepe glared at Rosina’s form since she was walking like a worm, and that pissed him off. He had the urge to grab and drag her to the altar.
’He’s pissed,’ Rosina thought when she felt the burning glare of Pepe under her veil, and his suffocating King aura was making everyone uncomfortable, especially the Omegas on standby.
"Rosina, are you really sure about—" Vanda whispered, but when she tried to get closer to Rosina. A male wolf pulled her back to create some distance.
Vanda almost tripped from the force and couldn’t help but hissed at the wolf.
"Vanda," Rosina glanced back. Her words made Vanda calm down and get back to her senses.
Vanda raised both of her hands in surrender and continued walking while trying to make Rosina’s veil untangled.
When Rosina was closer to the altar, she tried to take baby steps while looking at Pepe’s pissed facial expression. Seeing that he was getting annoyed every second was making Rosina feel delightful.
"Okay, that’s enough!" Pepe exclaimed and rushed toward Rosina. He grabbed her arm and dragged her to the altar without caring if he was seen as a monster at his own wedding.
The pack members gasped at what they saw, and murmurs started to echo in the forest.
Rosina glanced at the crowd and smirked since what Pepe did ruin his name and reputation even more. She began to act scared and whimpered in pain to show that she was abused.
"Please, Pepe! Take me back to my husband!" Rosina cried out and pulled herself away from him, but his grip tightened.
"NO! YOU’RE MINE!" Pepe shouted, followed by baring his fangs to threaten Rosina.
"I thought you’re a good man behind that royal facade of yours, but you’re just a piece of sh^t," Rosina whispered aggressively.
"You can’t run away from me," Pepe smiled creepily, ignoring her words.
"I wonder what it feels like forcing a she-wolf that your father f^cked to marry you," Rosina smirked when she saw Pepe’s face crumpled with hate.
Pepe growled and grabbed Rosina’s neck, pulling her close. "Don’t test my patience, sl^t."
"And you’re marrying a sl^t," Rosina smirked and smiled. Pepe was the only one who could see her facial expression.
"I will mark you and make sure you’ll suffer your whole life," Pepe stated before pulling Rosina close and beginning the marriage ceremony when he heard a commotion from the forest.
A warrior wolf came out while breathing heavily from running and had wounds all over his body.
"My King! We are under attack!" the wolf shouted before he puked blood and his body fell to the ground. Behind him was Draco, with his sword filled with blood.
"What a sight," Draco muttered and looked at the decorations. His eyes shifted to Rosina, who Pepe held.
"Draco!" Rosina exclaimed in relief, not because she was delighted at seeing Draco again but because they arrived at the exact time, as stated in the plan that Rosina copied from the King’s leather folder.
"You b^tch! You lead him here!" Pepe stated with rage. He felt betrayed since he thought Rosina planned everything for the Sabrecrown pack to attack them.
"No, not really. It’s just great timing," Rosina whispered back with a laugh. She was about to take a step, but Pepe held her waist and pulled her close.
Pepe extended his claws and aimed them at her neck. "Hah! Draco! Good to see you again. Did you miss your lovely wife?" he exclaimed while deepening his claws, causing blood to come out from Rosina’s skin.
Draco flicked his sword to clean the blood from the silver metal. His eyes bore a murderous glare toward Pepe, especially since he held Rosina in his arms and had hurt her.
The pack members that attended the wedding immediately ran to the other side, where Pepe was standing. They looked frightened by the number of knights that surrounded them.
"Release Rosina," Draco stated nonchalantly.
"No, leave my pack, and I’ll make sure to keep her alive," Pepe shouted and tightened his hold on Rosina’s waist.
Draco’s jaw tightened as he looked into Rosina’s eyes that kept staring at him. He wanted to attack but was concerned that his action would hurt Rosina even more.
"I wonder where my wife had gone. In the end, you kidnapped and forced her to be your wife. What a pathetic and desperate move!" Draco scoffed at Pepe’s action.
"What!? I don’t—" Pepe exclaimed since he was accused of something he didn’t do, but Rosina’s scream cut him off.
"Ah! Help me! I’m in pain!" Rosina’s high-pitched voice nearly broke everyone’s eardrums as she screamed so loud to stop Pepe from defending himself.
The knights drew out their swords and were ready to defend Rosina from harm, but Draco raised his hand to stop them.
"Let go of Rosina, and I’ll make sure to keep the pups and she-wolves in your pack from dying. They will be taken to the Sabrecrown pack and become slaves of war," Draco stated firmly without cutting eye contact with Pepe.
"Idiot!" Pepe shouted and looked at Bertrando. "Kill them."
"Yes, my King," Bertrando bowed and mind-linked the other pack warriors that were trained for the war.
"Kill them all and bring my wife to me," Draco whispered to his men, spreading his words to the other knights.
Everyone became aggressive and started killing one another. Rosina glanced to the side to look for Vanda, but she was nowhere to be found.
Rosina sighed in relief since she had no one to worry about except herself. She looked around at the bloodbath happening toward her, and the scent of metallic blood filled her soul with joy.
"Sh^t!" Pepe cursed and pulled Rosina back when Draco walked toward them with wide eyes.
Rosina was amazed since she felt like a damsel in distress. However, she could get away on her own. She wanted to see what Draco could do.
Draco wielded his sword and aimed it toward Pepe, but Rosina was in the way.
’Wow, this wolf is using me as a shield,’ Rosina thought in disbelief. She looked at Draco and wondered what was on his mind. After all, they separated on bad terms.
"Fight me like a man," Draco growled since he was annoyed that Pepe was using Rosina as his shield to prevent him from going all out.
"Ah! Help me!" Rosina acted like a fearful she-wolf, but Pepe tightened his grip.
"Sh^t up! You think you’re mighty because you’re a Prince! You can’t command me!" Pepe shouted, followed by a maniac laugh.
That made Rosina wonder if Pepe was still in his right mind after what was happening, but she didn’t have the time to dwell with him deeper.
"Ah! Whatever!" Rosina rolled her eyes and grabbed Pepe’s hand on her neck. She used his arm to lift herself and bonked her head under his chin to release her from his grasp.
