Chapter 157: The Surprise in the Cage

Pepe’s eyes squinted. Even though he wanted to capture and throw Rosina in the cell, he wanted to know what bargain she was talking about.

"Talk," Pepe stated firmly.

"I’ll be direct with my words, King Pepe," Rosina took a deep breath. She looked at Pepe with a serious expression and raised her voice.

"I want this pack to work under my orders—"

"No," Pepe cut off Rosina without hearing the rest of her statement. What she stated was enough for him to reject whatever bargain she offered. He wouldn’t give up on the pack, no matter what.

The wolves around started growling since Rosina threatened Pepe’s position as their King, and they were very loyal to him.

"As expected," Rosina chuckled. She knew that it would be hard for Pepe to accept since his pride as the King and leader of the pack would be tarnished if he accepted right away.

"I reject. You may beg your life in the cells later," Pepe stood up and was about to leave, but Rosina spoke.

"Don’t you want to see what exchange I will give you?" Rosina smiled and grabbed the cloth that draped over the cage.

Pepe looked back at Rosina and to the cage. It interested him to know what was inside, and his wolf was also anticipating the reveal.

"Show me, but I won’t give you my pack that easily," Pepe stated and crossed his arms, waiting for the revelation.

"Okay," Rosina pulled the cover and revealed Mari’s unconscious body. She had concealed Mari’s scent to surprise Pepe later.

"Do you think a single woman without status will make me agree to exchange my pack? Are you delusional, Rosina? Is your brain rot after you left this pack!?" Pepe exclaimed and liked how he threw insults toward Rosina. He expected some reaction, but he received nothing.

Rosina didn’t reply and gestured for Vanda to unlock the cage since she had the key.

Vanda giggled in excitement while unlocking the cage and pulling Mari’s unconscious body out. She winked at Rosina and leaned on the cage, eager to watch what was about to happen.

Rosina grabbed Mari’s hair and pulled her up before flicking her finger, which made Mari woke up from her slumber.

"Asdfghjk!" Mari’s muffled screams echoed in the throne room as tears streamed down her cheeks when Rosina pulled her hair upward.

Mari struggled to stand up since a rope bound her legs and her arms were behind her.

Pepe furrowed his eyebrows at the she-wolf’s connection to him since he didn’t recognize her. He was somewhat surprised at Rosina’s brutal side, especially since he only saw Rosina as a soft she-wolf.

"This she-wolf’s name is Mari," Rosina stated and drew out a dagger behind her, placing the blade on Mari’s neck.

"And?" Pepe had begun to get bored. He wanted to capture Rosina and watch her begging in the cells immediately.

"Don’t be so cold to your mate, Pepe," Rosina sneered with a broad smile before removing the cover-up on Mari’s scent and untying the cloth in her mouth.

Mari’s lilac scent engulfed Pepe’s nose, and his wolf wagged its tail inside him.

"Mate," Pepe’s eyes dilated while looking at Mari.

"Say hi to your mate, Mari," Rosina whispered, pushing the blade deeper into Mari’s skin and drawing blood.

When Pepe saw the blood, he growled threateningly at Rosina as a warning not to hurt his mate.

"H-Hi," Mari stuttered since she was afraid to move and deepened the blade into her skin.

"Rosina!" Pepe shouted as he inhaled deeply to calm his raging wolf due to the blood they had seen from Mari.

"Hmm? Do you like my little gift to you?" Rosina taunted and kicked Mari’s legs, causing her to fall on the cold floor.

"Rosina, don’t you dare?" Pepe growled, and his claws extended. The rest of his pack members took threatening steps toward Rosina in case she harmed Mari.

"Oh, don’t worry. I won’t harm your little mate as long as you give the pack under my control," Rosina grinned while patting Mari’s head.

"My King!" Cirino looked back at Pepe, who had a hardened expression. He knew Pepe wanted to meet and settle down with his mate for years.

The warrior wolves looked at their King and waited for his answer. Since the pack valued finding their mates, they lowered their guard but were still on defense to secure Mari’s safety.

"I don’t know how you manage to find my mate. I’ll give you credit for the effort," Pepe sighed, chuckling with amusement.

"Thank you," Rosina smiled and wriggled her eyebrows. Her attention went back to Mari, who was staring at Pepe.

"Surprise, Mari. Your mate is the rogue King!" Rosina exclaimed and pulled Mari’s head closer to whisper in her ears. "Didn’t you know I used to be his Queen. What does it feel like to have your mate cuddled another woman in bed?"

Rosina enjoyed her taunt toward Mari, especially her look of despair and pain.

"You shouldn’t hold a grudge against me, Mari. After all, you sucked my husband’s c0ck and swallowed his c^m, right!?" Rosina shouted, making sure Pepe would hear her words.

"Your Highness!" Mari exclaimed in fear and looked at Pepe’s reaction. Blood left her face when Pepe glared at her.

"I think you shouldn’t say that," Vanda whispered since what Rosina said would backfire on their plan.

"Sh^t," Rosina muttered and closed her eyes to calm herself. Her hatred toward Mari swallowed her emotions, and that controlled her.

"I see," Pepe nodded. His expression was flat, but his eyes showed disappointment.

"My King, even if your mate has a history. She is till your mate that the Moon Goddess appointed to you," Cirino knelt in front of Pepe. He knew what it felt like to have your other half and wanted Pepe to be happy with his future family.

"Hmm," Pepe hummed and kept staring at Mari’s crying face. "Tell me; this woman is an Omega?"

"She’s a servant," Rosina smiled and grabbed Mari’s clothes, pulling them to the side to show her shoulder. "You’re not the kind of man to look past a woman’s status, right?"
