Chapter 156: The Bargain

Chapter 156: The Bargain

The sun rose up in the sky in the outer world, but Rosina wasn’t able to sleep since she was busy reviewing the Palace plans.

"Huh? Their plan is simple. They’re confident they will win against the 13th pack," Rosina muttered while drinking her warm milk.

"Well, they have more numbers compared to the 13th pack now," Rosina stated upon remembering the loss of the Sabrecrown pack in the first war with the 13th pack.

Rosina’s eyes glanced toward Mari’s sleeping form. She sighed and wondered how Pepe would react if she presented Mari later to him.

"If he’s that desperate to have a Queen. He will accept her," Rosina shrugged and hid the papers in the drawer.

Rosina went to Vanda’s room and saw her sleeping peacefully in her bed. She smirked when an idea strikes in her mind. She grabbed a pillow and walked beside Vanda.

A smirk laced on Rosina’s lips as she pressed the pillow on Vanda’s head firmly, suffocating her.

Vanda’s body reacted to the lack of oxygen and instantly woke up. Her hands grasped Rosina’s arm on the side and pushed her away in order to breathe, but Rosina was strong to hold on.

"Haha!" Rosina laughed as she was having fun seeing Vanda struggle to breathe. After a few seconds, Rosina let go of the pillow and saw Vanda breathing like a dying fish.

"You look ugly," Rosina muttered and cringed at Vanda’s facial expression.

"Are you trying to kill me!?" Vanda exclaimed with wide eyes.

"No, I’m trying to wake you up," Rosina smirked and felt good at what she did.

"You!" Vanda stood up and grabbed the pillow that Rosina used to attempt to kill her life. She raised and threw the pillow at Rosina.

Rosina quickly caught the pillow and threw it back on Vanda’s face. "We need to go now."

"Why? It’s literally morning in the outer world. Come on!" Vanda groaned and lay back on her bed. She was still sleepy and wanted to sleep for a few more hours.

"That’s the point. Everyone has their guard high up during night time, but it lowered during daylight, especially if it’s too early," Rosina reasoned while putting on a black robe.

"They attacked in the evening to conceal their bodies in the darkness. That’s why it’s best to hunt during the night," Vanda stated. It was the most common tactic.

"Yes, that’s why we go during the day when they don’t expect us to appear, and it’s not like we are hiding our identity. Now, dress up and take our little bait," Rosina grinned and gestured toward Mari’s form.

"Oho, that excites me a bit," Vanda giggled like a child, which made Rosina cringe since she knew Vanda was old.

Vanda wore her black robe and pulled Mari’s cage since there was a wheel at the bottom. "We need a bigger portal for this."

"Yes," Rosina replied and touched her pendant. She was thinking about what place she would appear in the 13th pack’s castle.

"Hmm, I want to make a grand entrance," Rosina whispered.

"Then appear at the throne room," Vanda suggested with a grin. She draped a black cloth over the cage to keep it hidden.

Rosina smirked and pulled the hood to cover her face. She bit her thumb and wiped her blood on the pendant. She used a lot of power to create a more enormous portal for the three of them.

"Are you ready?" Rosina asked Vanda with a smirk.

"Of course!" Vanda replied before pushing the cage into the hole before she followed behind.

Rosina watched them fall down. She took a deep breath before jumping, and the portal closed behind her.

When Rosina opened her eyes, she was in the Castle’s throne room, and the warrior wolves were baring their teeth at them.

Vanda was raising her hand in surrender while protecting the cage behind. After all, it was the most essential item in their mission.

"Who are you!?" Cirino Endrizzi, the 13th pack’s Delta, stepped forward with his eyes glaring at the intruder.

"We are here to meet the King," Rosina answered and took a step forward, which made the shifted wolves growl threateningly.

"Don’t test my patience, rogue!" Cirino bared his fangs.

Rosina rolled her eyes and removed the hood that was covering her face. "Miss me, Cirino?" she stated with a smile.

"My Queen!" Cirino exclaimed and immediately gestured for the warrior wolves to stand down. "You’re back!"

"Yes, and I need to meet the King. I have an important matter to discuss," Rosina stated nonchalantly.

Cirino’s eyes went toward Vanda, who was still covering her face, and to the cage behind her.

"Yes, I’ll mind linking the King," Cirino stated, and his eyes were staring into space as he connected to Pepe, who was in his office.

"Seems like the mind link in this pack is working well," Vanda whispered to Rosina. She knew the problems with the mind link in the twelve Werewolf packs, and she was surprised that the 13th pack seemed to do well.

"The King will be here in a few minutes," Cirino informed, but after he finished his sentence. The door to the throne room opened and revealed Pepe in his majestic royal clothes.

"Rosina!" Pepe shouted Rosina’s name in anger. "You have the audacity to show your face here!"

"Should I leave?" Rosina smiled and tilted her head to the side. She didn’t like how Pepe shouted at her and wanted to cut his tongue as punishment.

Pepe growled and looked at Rosina’s companions. "What do you want?"

"I’m here to bargain," Rosina stated softly while trying to control her emotions and remain calm.

"If you want to bargain on behalf of your ’husband,’. I’ll reject it," Pepe growled before sitting on his throne and looking down at Rosina with menacing eyes.

"Maybe you should hear what I’m about to say and consider my offer first," Rosina stepped aside and gestured toward the covered cage.
