Chapter 144: The Royal’s Room
Rosina went out of Draco’s room, leaving Silvio behind. She turned to the side and saw Draco leaning against the wall, waiting for them.
"Your Highness," Rosina stated and bowed.
"Is Silvio your mate?" Draco asked with squinted eyes.
"I don’t feel any spark, Your Highness," Rosina replied while shaking her head.
"How about the scent?" Draco walked forward and sniffed Rosina’s scent and smelled a faint scent of Jasmine.
"I don’t find Sir Silvio’s scent alluring, Your Highness," Rosina replied softly. "I apologize for the misunderstanding."
"Hmm," Draco hummed while rubbing his chin. He became interested in Rosina’s facade personality.
Silvio went out of the room after calming himself. He was hurt and his wolf was depressed for assuming that they finally found his mate. He rubbed his eyes to show that he didn’t cry.
"Your Highness, I should excuse myself," Rosina stated and was about to leave since she didn’t want to face them anymore, but Draco stopped her.
"Rosalina, stay," Draco firmly said and his eyes were looking at her intently.
Rosina stopped in her tracks and wanted to curse, but she needed to stick to her personality as Rosalina.
"What is it, Your Highness?" Rosina asked, keeping her head low.
"You’re saying that you didn’t feel anything, but Silvio did," Draco whispered, deep in thought.
"Yes, that seems like it, Your Highness," Rosina replied and impatiently waiting to be dismissed.
"I see, you may go," Draco gestured for Rosina to leave.
Rosina hurriedly walked away, but when she turned to the corner. She stopped and hid, she wanted to hear what their conversation was about.
"This situation is similar to my wife, Rosina," Draco stated toward Silvio.
"Princess Rosina doesn’t feel any spark between the two of you?" Silvio asked in surprise. He always thought that Draco and Rosina were madly in love and were actual mates rather than a political marriage.
"I always feel the sparks the moment I saw her in the Mating Event, but she seems not to feel anything. Even her reaction was flat and unbothered by my touches. Aside from that, I don’t smell her scent. That’s also a reason why I’m not sure if she was indeed my mate," Draco explained while having a flashback every time he met Rosina.
"Maybe there’s a problem with the mating bond, similar to the troubles we have with mind-link," Silvio stated and Draco agreed with him.
"I’m not surprised if that happens. After all, most Werewolves marry those who are convenient to them, rather than finding their mate. It must be the reason for the decline and abnormality of the mating bond," Draco sighed loudly. He brushed his hair backward in frustration.
"Can I ask something, Your Highness?" Silvio pursed his lips since it took a lot of strength to ask what was on his mind.
"Sure," Draco shrugged since he didn’t care much.
"Have you marked, Princess Rosina?" Silvio asked in curiosity since he noticed that Rosina’s neck was clear and she didn’t emit Draco’s scent, but he didn’t dare question it since it was a private matter between married couples.
Draco’s facial expression hardened. Since their marriage, nobody questioned their scent or the mark. He thought nobody cared about those things, but he realized they were afraid to ask.
"No," Draco answered flatly. He turned to the side and looked out at the window.
"I don’t want to ask why, but I always find it weird that Princess Rosina doesn’t emit any kind of scent, aside from her perfume," Silvio stated while thinking that it was hard to search for Rosina when she went missing because she didn’t have any scent they could trace.
"Ah, you noticed?" Draco asked with an eyebrow raised. He was always curious that Rosina smelled of nothing and she drenched herself with perfume to have a scent. At first, he thought Rosina was masking her scent, but the more he spend time with her. He realized that she didn’t have a scent of her own.
"Yes," Silvio nodded.
The two of them became silent and the only noise that could be heard was the murmurs of the nearby servants chatting with one another outside.
"Let’s keep this between us," Draco muttered and Silvio agreed for Rosina’s sake.
"Yes, Your Highness," Silvio stated as they began walking. Their footsteps echoed in the hallway, which made Rosina flinch.
Rosina thought they would go back into Draco’s room, but they were going her way. She started running in a hurry and entered the door without knowing who was inside.
Rosina waited for Draco and Silvio to pass by before she sighed in relief.
"Ah, finally," Rosina muttered with a smile. That was when her senses came back and focus on her surrounding. She turned around and saw Gastone staring at her with his cup of coffee.
"Rosalina, right?" Gastone stated and put down his cup.
"Your Highness, Crown Prince Gastone Violante. I apologize for barging into this room without your permission. I accept any punishment you will give me!" Rosina exclaimed and knelt on the ground. Kneeling down hurt Rosina’s pride, but she needed to do it to keep her other identity.
Gastone looked at Rosina’s figure on the floor. He didn’t care when she entered the room he was in since he planned to visit her and confirm about the sparks.
But hearing Rosina say she would accept any kind of punishment made Gastone turn from a gentleman to a kinky man. Different thoughts flooded his mind and his body shivered with anticipation.
"Omegas who entered a royal’s room without permission are usually hanged to serve as a lesson to the other Omegas, but since you are deeply sorry. I should lessen your punishment," Gastone stated, stood up, and walked toward Rosina. He knelt and lifted Rosina’s chin, but she kept her eyes away from him.
"I will accept the punishment," Rosina muttered. She planned to escape if her life would be put in danger. She didn’t plan to kill Gastone... yet.
