Chapter 138: The Warm Milk Under the Bloodbath

Hundreds of rogues emerged from the forest and attacked everyone on sight. At the center was a gigantic beige wolf that growled loudly.

"Pepe..." Rosina whispered upon smelling Pepe’s scent.

"Sh^t!" Gastone stood up and drew out his sword. "Rosina, go to a safer place. I can’t be with you now."

"Don’t worry about me. Go!" Rosina exclaimed and pushed Gastone away. When he was gone, Rosina ripped her skirt, and underneath were her pants she had prepared in advance.

"Your Highness!" Silvio appeared at the tent’s entrance with a frantic look. "We’re under attack! We need to leave!"

Rosina ignored Silvio and grabbed her bag, which contained important stuff. She didn’t need Silvio to look after her since she had other motives.

Seeing that Rosina was ignoring him. Silvio grabbed her hand and dragged her outside to safety.

"I apologize for my behavior, Your Highness, but you need to leave this camp," Silvio stated firmly, and several knights came to them to guard Rosina under Draco’s orders.

Rosina saw several dead bodies lying on the ground, swimming in their own blood. It was the scene she dreaded seeing and the lives she wanted to save, but she felt nothing.

"Silvio, I can go on my own. Go and fight with the knights," Rosina pulled back and faced Silvio with a serious expression.

"But I need to ensure your safety," Silvio argued, but Rosina shook her head.

"I won’t be safe if we lose. Now go!" Rosina pushed Silvio away and glared at her.

"Okay, I will," Silvio handed Rosina, the rope of the horse before running back to the camp with his sword drawn out.

Rosina mounted the horse, but she didn’t escape. She went back to the camp to find Mari. Her eyes scanned the area, and several knights looked at her in shock since she was still there while the rogues ignored her.

’I guess they don’t intend to harm me,’ Rosina thought. She was delighted, although she didn’t care about her life, but was more concerned over Mari. After all, she was the key to controlling the 13th pack.

Rosina tried to sniff the air to find her scent, but the metallic smell of blood was dominant.

"Sh^t! Where is she?" Rosina muttered under her breath. She only had two concerns. One, the rogues would kill her since she was only a servant; two, Pepe and her would meet, and Rosina would lose her ace card.

"Kyah!!!"

A scream caught Rosina’s attention, and she immediately went in that direction since the voice was similar to Mari’s, and she wasn’t wrong.

Mari was kneeling on the ground, begging for her life as the rogue approached her. She was crying and submitting herself.

"Pathetic," Rosina whispered with disappointment. She thought Mari was too gentle and soft to become the Rogue Queen.

Rosina used the horse to face the incoming rogue. When the rogue saw her, he immediately stopped in his tracks and let her take Mari. She smiled at the wolf before running away.

"Your Highness!" Mari cried out with delight that Rosina had saved her life. "Thank you for saving me!"

Rosina didn’t reply as they traveled to the other side of the forest for safety. When the noise of the war fainted, Rosina stopped the horse and hopped down.

"You stay here, Mari. If you move one bit of a muscle, I will kill you myself," Rosina threatened and growled at Mari as a warning.

"Y-yes! Your Highness," Mari hopped down the horse and bowed at Rosina. In her mind, Rosina wanted her to be alive and safe.

"Good girl," Rosina tied the horse to the tree and stared at Mari for a few seconds. "Don’t forget what I said, Mari. I don’t like stubborn wolves."

"I-I will stay here, Your Highness. I won’t leave this spot until you come back," Mari nodded and sat on the ground.

"Okay," Rosina sighed and saw that Mari wasn’t lying. Before leaving, she grabbed a cookie from her bag and gave it to Mari.

Rosina planned to return to the camp, not because she would help Draco fight against the rogues, but to enjoy the scene. She climbed on the trees when she got closer and settled at a place where she could watch the war’s outcome without getting spotted.

"Hmm, using the wolf form brings out greater advantages," Rosina muttered while taking out the cookies Vanda made and the bottled milk she took before getting dragged by Silvio.

"I wish this milk was warm," Rosina sighed deeply and slurped the cold milk, but then she felt the temperature change on her tongue.

"Is it warm now?" Vanda whispered and winked at Rosina. She appeared beside her and sat on the same branch.

"It really amused me how many times you appeared in my sight," Rosina chuckled while shaking her head.

"Is it wrong? I have been in my home for years. I get bored.... Sometimes," Vanda shrugged and grabbed one of Rosina’s cookies while watching the bloodshed in front of them.

"What’s your plan with that girl?" Vanda asked, referring to Mari.

"I planned to use her and bargain with Pepe to hand me the 13th pack," Rosina replied with a smirk.

"I’m impressed. Then you and your mate will rule over the pack," Vanda stated, but Rosina shook her head.

"I’ll reject him and leave when this is over," Rosina sighed deeply. She felt another emotional pain, but it wasn’t that strong.

"Well, if you get the 13th pack and decide to reject your mate, who is supposed to be the pack’s Alpha. Don’t you think you’ll become the Palace’s new enemy? After all, you’ll become a Rogue Queen," Vanda was getting interested in Rosina’s plan and wanted to know what was on her mind.

"I plan to legalize the 13th pack, but I guess you’re right. She-wolves can’t rule without their male counterpart in this sh^tty realm! Ugh!" Rosina groaned with disgust.

"Indeed, but you can use that to your advantage. How about manipulating your mate to fight against the Palace? It would be nice if you ruled the whole Werewolf realm instead of a mere pack," Vanda whispered with a menacing smile.

Rosina glanced at Vanda. She wasn’t surprised at her words but was amused by them. "I already thought about that, Vanda. Now, all I need is perfect timing."
