Chapter 137: The Horn’s Signal
Chapter 137: The Horn’s Signal
Pain surged through Rosina’s chest and went up to her left eye. It glowed bright green and lightened up the dark forest. It was only a few seconds, but Rosina knew what it meant.
"The powers activated!" Rosina whispered in shock. She couldn’t believe that the power unlocked even though she didn’t check on Draco; instead, she had a heartbreak.
"Does this mean I only need to accept that I have a mate and who it is?" Rosina muttered to herself. It took a while before her brain could process her thoughts and a smile appeared on her lips.
"That’s great! I don’t need to announce that he is my mate!" Rosina exclaimed with delight. Although the pain in her chest was still there, she focused on the goal ahead of her.
Rosina stood up and dusted her fancy gown. She ignored the pain in her ankle since her wolf was healing it for her. She walked back toward the tent to prepare herself to leave since she needed to find Pepe’s mate in less than 24 hours.
The sun’s rays started to shine in the night sky, but Rosina didn’t get any sleep. She was busy packing her several necessities for her travels, especially since she didn’t know how her new power worked.
A whimper was heard outside her tent. Since she knew it was Mari, Rosina didn’t need to see who it was. She sighed deeply, stood up, and decided to face her, or she would suffer from hearing Mari’s irritating voice.
Rosina opened her tent, and when she met Mari’s eyes. A force blasted inside her body, and she saw a vision of Pepe’s face smiling while extending his hand for Mari to take. They looked happy and contented in life.
"Ack!" Rosin gasped from shock. Everything was too much for her that day, and her body was on the verge of giving up.
Mari was about to hold Rosina’s arms to assist her balance, but her hand was swatted away.
"Go back to your tent, Mari," Rosina whispered before turning around. She could feel she would pass out any moment as her vision became blurry and dark.
"Your Highness, I’m here to apologize. Nothing happened between Prince Draco and me," Mari whispered with sincerity, but she was hiding something, and Rosina knew about it.
"Say that again if you didn’t swallow his c^m," Rosina chuckled with amusement. "The scent of his dead babies in your lips makes my nose itch. Go back to your tent before I rip your mouth open."
The threat made Mari shriek and run toward her tent, leaving Rosina alone.
Rosina forced herself to walk into the bed and lie down. She was relieved she had finally gotten the power, but knowing Mari was Pepe’s mate made her uncomfortable.
"I thought I needed to travel...." Rosina whispered and shook her head. "Now, I don’t need to."
Rosina sighed deeply. She relaxed her body and immediately felt the need to sleep.
"..."
Rosina opened her eyes and groaned. "Goddess, this heat!" she sat up and watched the sunlight entering her tent. She felt that she only took a five-minute nap; the next thing she knew, it was already morning.
"What am I going to do now? What’s my plan?" Rosina muttered to herself since she still needed to carry out her plan to stop the war from happening.
"Your Highness?" Mari’s voice whispered outside and followed by shuffles.
"Enter," Rosina stated firmly and watched Mari squirm from her gaze while she put down her breakfast.
"Is there—" Mari was cut off by Rosina’s hand signal.
"You may go," Rosina gestured and went to eat her food. After all, she was hungry.
"Yes, Your Highness," Mari bowed and left the tent hurriedly.
Rosina couldn’t help but sigh. She shook her head and dug in, filling her empty stomach.
While eating, Rosina thought of different plans, especially since Draco would attack the 13th pack later that night.
"Okay, so Mari is Pepe’s mate, but she seems to adore my mate, Draco, huh... What a complicated situation," Rosina chuckled. The thought of what she saw last night came back to her memory like a storm. The emotional pain she felt formed into hatred.
"On second thought, why would I bother saving both packs from bloodshed? I can just stay here and enjoy my warm milk!" Rosina exclaimed and finally decided she wouldn’t give a sh^t about them and the war. After all, she was only a contracted mate.
Rosina’s ears twitched at the footsteps approaching her tent. She glanced and saw Gastone enter with a sour expression.
"Your Highness, good morning. How’s your day?" Rosina stood up and curtsied with a huge flirty smile.
"What is the meaning of that kiss, Rosina?" Gastone asked with a deep breath. He was holding back his emotions to look calm, but he hadn’t slept all night while thinking of that kiss he shared with Rosina.
"It was nothing, Your Highness," Rosina smiled and offered Gastone a seat.
"Nothing? That’s nothing to you!?" Gastone asked in disbelief.
"Yes, but I would like to thank you for your cooperation. Now, I have answered my own questions," Rosina shrugged and offered a toasted bread to Gastone.
"Rosina... You’re making it hard for me," Gastone sighed while shaking his head.
"Why?" Rosina tilted her head to the side. "I know you pursued me before because Draco wanted me, and you didn’t like it. That’s why you wanted me to show Draco that you’re above him."
"That’s not it," Gastone’s voice raised, but he couldn’t explain his emotions very well.
"Your Highness, I don’t mind your intentions because I don’t care about them. If you’re concerned with the kiss, we shared last night. Think of it as a gift from me," Rosina stood up and walked in front of Gastone. She leaned down to match his head’s height since he was sitting.
"Do you want to kiss again, Crown Prince Gastone?" Rosina whispered seductively and tilted Gastone’s chin upward. She leaned closer when Gastone didn’t push her away.
Rosina was about to kiss Gastone when a horn blasted in the camp.
"ROGUES!!!" the knights yelled outside.
