Chapter 134: The Mating Lesson for Rosina
The knights searched for Draco since they went to the forest to attack the 13th pack exactly when Rosina arrived back at the camp. They thought Rosina had gone there again.
’I won’t wait for them,’ Rosina thought and started walking away. She felt the need to be in action rather than standing it.
’You need to accept your mate.’
Vanda’s voice echoed in Rosina’s head. The thought of having to search for her mate was draining her energy.
"AH! WHY DO I NEED TO DO THAT!?" Rosina screamed in frustration. She knelt on the ground and pulled out the grass to vent her emotions.
The knights and servants around got scared of Rosina’s voice. It was the first time they heard Rosina’s voice that loud.
"What did you do?" Draco’s voice spoke behind her. He was wearing armor with his sword dangling on the side. He looked at Rosina with a glare, showing that he was angry.
"Ah, my dear Draco. How are you?" Rosina stood up and composed herself. She looked at Draco with a soft smile, attempting to escape his wrath.
Draco got pissed seeing Rosina acting like nothing had happened. He glanced around, and everyone was looking at them. He grabbed Rosina’s arm and dragged her inside her tent, ignoring the sparks that ignited on their skin.
Rosina was staring at Draco’s hand, and Vanda’s words kept repeating in her head.
’The answer always lies in front of you.’
"..." Rosina pulled her arm back and felt the fainting spark.
"I already told you not to leave this camp, but what did you do? You make everyone worry about your well-being!?" Draco shouted and ran a hand through his wet hair. He turned his back to prevent seeing Rosina since he might explode due to anger.
"I understand, but I have a lot of things to do," Rosina stated softly. She didn’t want to anger Draco more since she knew they were just worried about her.
"You can tell me what you want, and I’ll do it! Why do you always make it hard for me!" Draco exclaimed aggressively. His body was shaking from restraining his emotions.
"Huh!?" Rosina chuckled with amusement. "I am an independent wolf, Draco. I have things that need to be done alone without anyone’s help, and you crossed our contract to dig into my business as if you owned me!"
Rosina yelled and took a step forward. She wasn’t scared of Draco and felt he was trying to put a leash on her neck and control her movements.
"Rosina! You make everyone worry about you! We should focus on the war with the 13th pack, and here we are, pondering about you instead!" Draco shouted, followed by a growl.
"I already informed you that I’ll leave the camp for a while. It’s you who thinks you can control me! I don’t need your permission to do whatever I want! I am not your wife or your mate!" Rosina screamed in a fury. Her wolf wept inside and tried to calm her down, but it wasn’t effective.
In Rosina’s mind, she needed to put Draco in place to know where he stood in their fake relationship.
Hearing that, Draco was taken aback by her words. Since Rosina’s disappearance, he had forgotten that she was his contracted mate. He had been treating her like his real mate, and his wolf approved of it to the point that he had difficulty finding other she-wolves attractive.
"You’re right," Draco scoffed while shaking his head. His voice turned soft, and his shoulders slumped together. He felt defeated that Rosina was slapping him with the truth, but deep inside, he was hurting. His wolf begged him to touch Rosina and comfort them with the spark.
Rosina pursed her lips with regret. She didn’t intend to hurt Draco’s feelings but to make him understand that she was on her own. She saw Draco’s aura and facial expression change which turned cold.
"We’re going to attack the 13th pack tomorrow night. You might not want to be controlled, but please, stay here until it’s done," Draco stated with a deep sigh and left the tent.
As Draco passed by Rosina’s side. Their hands touched one another, and the spark kindled for a few seconds before disappearing.
Rosina closed her eyes and savored the feeling before it was gone. She breathed out and turned around, seeing Draco’s back retreating.
’The answer always lies in front of you.’
Vanda’s words strike Rosina’s mind again.
"Oh, goddess, what should I do?" Rosina slumped down and held her face. She started thinking that Draco was her mate, especially since she was feeling the spark, but she wasn’t sure if Draco was feeling it as well.
"You’re Highness?" a familiar male voice sounded behind Rosina.
"Silvio..." Rosina muttered without looking to whom it was.
"Rosina— Your Highness. I’m here to apologize for not doing my job as your personal guard and causing you great miserable life in this rogue pack," Silvio knelt and put his head on the ground to show how sorry he was.
Rosina stood up and glanced at him. She smiled and lifted Silvio’s head. "You don’t have to be sorry, and stop blaming yourself, okay?" she stated softly.
"But— " Silvio wanted to reason out, but Rosina put her index finger on his lips to stop him from talking.
"If you wanted to make it up to me. Help me," Rosina whispered and looked into Silvio’s eyes.
"I will do everything I can to help you, Princess!" Silvio exclaimed with determination.
"That’s great, but promise me not to tell anyone about this," Rosina whispered and dragged Silvio back into her tent so they could have a private conversation.
Silvio was confused but didn’t ask for an explanation and decided to wait for Rosina to tell him.
Rosina placed Silvio on the chair and stared at him without breaking eye contact.
"Silvio, I want to find my mate, and I only have 24 hours to find him," Rosina stated firmly.
Silvio blinked multiple times to let Rosina’s words sink into his brain. "What did you say?"
"I said... I need to find my mate, and I only have 24 hours to find him," Rosina repeated her words, but Silvio plastered a confused look.
"Your Highness— " Silvio was cut off.
"Call me Rosina. That title thing broke my ears," Rosina rolled her eyes and ushered Silvio to speak her name.
"Okay... Rosina... I don’t quite understand what you are trying to say," Silvio shook his head with confused eyes.
"Do I need to repeat what I said?" Rosina crossed her arms. She didn’t think it was hard to understand what she meant.
"Okay, no need to repeat, but aren’t you already mated to Prince Draco?" Silvio stated slowly to give emphasis to each of his words. "Rosina, did you forget that you’re already married?"
"... No," Rosina answered and faced palmed. She had forgotten that Silvio didn’t know about the contracted arrangement between her and Draco.
"Rosina, what is happening?" Silvio stated with concern. He felt that something was going on behind the curtains.
Rosina sighed deeply. She hesitated to tell Silvio the truth, but she needed him. Her brain was wracking to find a solution to get what she wanted without dropping the contract.
"Well, you see, Silvio. I want to know about how mate works. As you can see, I doubt the... ugh... connection Draco and I have... You get the point," Rosina forced a smile and laughed awkwardly.
Silvio furrowed his eyebrows but didn’t ask any further. He could sense that Rosina and Draco had a fight, and he thought it was why Rosina doubted their mate bond.
"You get the wrong person to ask, Rosina. As you can see, I’m still unmated," Silvio laughed when he saw how Rosina’s face dropped.
"Ugh, yeah," Rosina groaned and felt beaten up.
"But my mother once told me about the time you will know that wolf is the one meant for you," Silvio smiled at the thought of his mother.
"Tell me," Rosina leaned closer with interest. Although she knew about what it was like to find your mate. She wanted to hear it from another wolf.
"Well, it was like you’re on a cloud nine. When you look into the person’s eyes, you can feel the pull, a force that wants to get closer. When you touch, a spark electrifies your body and makes you weak. Their scent became an addiction that you wanted to smell for eternity," Silvio was smiling while telling Rosina about mates.
"Okay," Rosina nodded her head. She couldn’t help but grin at how dreamy Silvio looked while speaking. "But, I want to know how you will accept that person as your mate. Does it come naturally, or do you need to work it out?"
Silvio tilted his head. He was once again confused by Rosina’s questions. "I believe it will come naturally since both wolves can feel the connection, but it will be different if the other one rejects the other."
