Chapter 133: The Woman Named Vanda

Rosina was biting her nails while deep in thinking. She was back in her tent after talking to Draco. No matter how he tried to convince him, he would disagree with her leaving the group.

"I can’t just stand here and do nothing!" Rosina muttered and stood up. She looked around and went toward the stuff that Draco had brought. She grabbed a black cloak and a dagger.

"Your Highness," Mari whispered outside the tent.

Rosina immediately hid the cloak and sat back on her chair, grabbing a book and acting like she was reading. "Come in."

"Yes, Your Highness," Mari squeaked and entered the tent. She gulped before walking toward Rosina’s table and placing the warm milk. "I’ll excuse myself, Your Highness."

"Don’t disturb me from now on, Mari. I would like to rest," Rosina stated firmly, which made Mari tremble in fear.

"Y-yes, Your Highness," Mari whispered and bowed before hurriedly getting out of the tent.

Rosina waited a few seconds before putting down the book and going to bed. She grabbed the pillows and placed them beside each other before covering them with the blanket. She was creating a dummy that looked like she was asleep.

"Will they fall for this?" Rosina whispered and flicked her tongue. Then, an idea sparked in her mind. She grabbed an ink and wrote on the paper.

"Do not disturb. I want to sleep," Rosina muttered the words she wrote on the paper. She took a knife and went out of her tent.

Everyone bowed at Rosina, and she smiled back. Then she placed the paper on the tent and used the knife to set it in place.

"That’s good," Rosina whispered and looked at the knights standing behind her tent. "Don’t let anyone enter. Even Draco or Gastone."

"Yes, Your Highness!" the knight exclaimed and stood still.

Rosina smiled and entered the room. She took her stuff and planned to leave. After all, it was getting dark, and everyone was busy doing their chores.

Rosina was about to go when she looked back at the dummy in her bed. Something inside her says it wasn’t enough to make Draco stay away.

"Hmm, what should I do to make it look like me," Rosina whispered and stared at her long auburn hair that reached below her waist. She had always liked her hair length but needed to use it.

"It will grow back anyway," Rosina shrugged it off and took the dagger from her pocket. She grabbed a handful of her hair and placed the dagger at a given length, but her hand shivered. Her heart ached, thinking that she would cut her hair.

"For peace!" Rosina exclaimed and glided the blade on her hair, cutting them in place. She continued cutting the rest of her strands and tucked them behind the blanket to look like it was her hair.

"Perfect!" Rosina was satisfied with the outcome since it looked like her back. She placed her hair into a ponytail and changed her clothes into pants for better mobility.

After Rosina was done, she went to the back portion of the tent and ran straight to the forest. She hid behind the tree and looked back at the camp.

’I’m safe,’ Rosina thought and started running deeper into the forest, but she was not returning to the 13th pack.

When Rosina knew that no one would find her. She stopped and activated her power, which made her left eye glow bright green.

A light appeared on Rosina’s feet. The air became dense, and the leaves swaying against the wind stopped moving.

"Vanda, I want to see you," Rosina muttered, and immediately, the ground she was standing on opened up and swallowed her body. The light disappeared as if nothing had happened, and everything returned to normal.

...

Rosina groaned and felt her body aching everywhere. She opened her eyes and saw that she was no longer in the forest but in a place that smelled like cookies.

"You’re awake! Finally!" a woman’s voice stated with a giggle. She placed the baked cookies on the table along with fresh milk.

"Vanda..." Rosina whispered while sitting up. In front of her was a woman she wanted to meet.

"Yes? I wonder what happened for you to seek me out," Vanda gestured for Rosina to eat some cookies. She sat on the chair and waited for Rosina’s explanation.

"I need your help," Rosina stated and looked at Vanda wide-eyed.

"What seems to be the problem?" Vanda asked. Her lips became a smile since she got excited about Rosina’s words.

"The Palace wanted to take over the 13th pack, but I don’t want that to happen. Many people live in peace inside the 13th pack, and I don’t want them to die. So I need to find a way to prevent the war," Rosina explained and sat on the chair in front of Vanda.

"Preventing the rogues from dying. That’s new," Vanda chuckled with amusement. She knew what Rosina had done. After all, she was the one who gave the power to Rosina’s left eye.

"Rosina, you must know the limit of what you can do. I’ve heard you’re already a Princess," Vanda said and poured Rosina another glass of milk.

"Yes, that’s why I’m here," Rosina smiled and held Vanda’s hand. "I want to find the Rogue King’s mate. I know it’s impossible, but that’s the only way for me to make Pepe surrender the 13th pack without getting into a useless war!"

"Believe me. Their ego is so high that they will go into a war no matter what," Vanda shook her head with amusement but saw the seriousness on Rosina’s face.

"Vanda, please," Rosina pouted and made cute faces that Vanda couldn’t help but adore her attractiveness.

"Alright! There is a way to recognize mates, but you need to do something to trigger that magic," Vanda explained and touched Rosina’s left eye. "The answer always lies in front of you."

"What do I need to do?" Rosina felt relieved that Vanda would help her.

"You need to accept your mate, simple," Vanda stated with a smirk. She knew how Rosina didn’t want a mate since she had a dark past that traumatized her for wanting one for herself.

"Hah!? I will never! I don’t even know who he is!" Rosina exclaimed and stood up aggressively, knocking the chair backward.

"You’re not that naive, Rosina. I know you knew your mate in the first place, but you kept denying his bond," Vanda rolled her eyes. She stood up, packed the extra cookies in a handkerchief, and gave them to Rosina.

"Take that to your mate as a gift. You do the rest," Vanda added.

"Does this contain poison?" Rosina asked with hopeful eyes, but Vanda shook her head.

"That’s just regular cookies. Why do you even want to kill your mate? Go on, child, don’t bug me in my peaceful home," Vanda gestured for Rosina to go away while she settled comfortably on her sofa.

Vanda’s house was made of wood with a massive fireplace, but the fire was made with magic. The place was dark, and only the fireflies stored inside the glass bottles gave light. Several cabinets that were full of books and jars that contained plants and other materials were placed neatly on each side. At the center was a huge pot with green liquid inside that kept bubbling.

"Alright, but you need to send me back," Rosina spread her arms and winked at Vanda.

"Good luck, Rosina, and please... Don’t make mistakes you’ll regret," Vanda smiled softly at Rosina before flicking her finger. At the same time, Rosina vanished in thin air and was sent to the outer world.

"That kid grew up fast. The last time I remembered meeting her was when she was 13 years old," Vanda muttered to herself and smiled at the memory of a young Rosina running around her house.

On the other side, Rosina was returned to the same clearing she had left.

"Oh, I didn’t disappear that long," Rosina mumbled with relief. She patted her pants and walked toward her tent. The moon shone brightly in the sky, giving light to the dark place.

Rosina thought she had been gone for a few hours, but it was the second night since she disappeared.

"Huh?" Rosina saw the camp was primarily empty, and only a few knights were stationed to guard the place. She was dazed but shrugged it off.

Rosina stealthily entered her back, only to find her dummy’s body scattered on the floor. Most of all, her room was a mess.

"What happened here? Did we get attacked?" Rosina gasped, but one thing was for sure, Draco already knew she had left the camp.

"Sh^t! Did they attack the 13th pack!?" Rosina exclaimed in fright. She hurriedly went out and faced the knight. Only to see them flinch in surprise.

"Your Highness! Princess Rosina! You’re back!" the knights shouted, and one of them immediately ran away to inform Draco about Rosina’s appearance.
