Chapter 123: The 2nd Prince Backstory Pt 3

Gavino and the Rogue King fought against one another— sword against claws.

The fight was brutal since Gavino’s sword was made of silver, which affected the Rogue King as each cut on his body wouldn’t heal.

Silver was a werewolf’s weakness.

The Rogue King snarled and clawed Gavino’s body, but his attack was easily dodged. Gavino stepped to the side and pierced his sword against the wolf’s stomach, dealing heavy damage.

In the end, the Rogue King was forced to shift into his human form. He was tall and buff with long blonde hair that reached his shoulder.

"I see, you’re an old man," Gavino snickered and aimed his sword against the Rogue King’s neck. "Surrender and I will make sure to kill you painlessly as possible."

"Heh, are you sure about that?" the Rogue King smirked wickedly while holding his wound.

A high-pitch cry echoed in the place. That was when Gavino realized that he didn’t lead Ambra to safety, leaving her in his tent all alone.

Gavino turned around and saw Ambra, wrapped in a blanket with a rogue holding her.

"Ambra!" Gavino screamed and turned back to the Rogue King. "Release my sister!"

"Sister? Ha!? She has your scent..." the Rogue King was confused for a second before it has drawn to him. They had been observing Gavino and Ambra together in the dark and concluded that she was his mate.

"You f^cked your own sister!?" the Rogue King exclaimed with disgust.

"Release my sister or I will end your life," Gavino threatened, but the Rogue King found it funny.

"What’s the point of releasing her when you’re going to kill me in the end," the Rogue King stated and gestured for his member to snap Ambra’s neck.

"No!" Gavino screamed and instantly ran to save Ambra, but at the same time, the Rogue King took the opportunity to pierce his claw against Gavino’s back and yanked his spine.

"BROTHER!!!!" Ambra screamed in horror seeing his brother, the man she loved got killed in front of her eyes.

Gavino’s body fell to the ground. His body twitched while excreting a lot of blood. His eyes stared at Ambra’s face full of tears.

"A-ambra... I l-love.. you— "

Gavino wasn’t able to continue his words when the Rogue King squashed his head into pieces.

"WAH! NO!! BROTHER!!" Ambra trashed around with tears in her eyes. The rogue holding her let her go. She immediately ran to Gavino’s dead body.

"N-no... Please... wake up!" Ambra’s voice trembled. Her brain couldn’t process the fact that Gavino was already dead. She grabbed Gavino’s broken face and kissed his lips, hoping that he would open his eyes.

"What are you doing, child!" the Rogue King grabbed Ambra’s arm and dragged her away from Gavino’s dead body. He wrapped a cloth around her eyes to prevent her from seeing a traumatic event.

The Rogue King felt pity for Ambra. After all, he always wanted a daughter, but he was blessed with a son. He felt disgusted with Gavino for f^cking his sister during the war with them.

"And the previous Rogue King took me to this Castle and made me a servant under King Pepe when he was a Prince," Ambra stated and breathed deeply as she faced Rosina.

"..."

Rosina’s mouth hung open after hearing Ambra’s story. She didn’t know how to react since the information was too much for her to take. She cleared her throat and acted like she wasn’t taken aback by Ambra’s background.

"Then, what happened to the previous Rogue King?" Rosina asked. She didn’t question Ambra’s past and her decision of loving her own brother since she didn’t want to offend Ambra, especially since she opened up about her painful past.

"The previous King..." Ambra started laughing with a grim expression.

"Ambra," Rosina whispered. Her heart skipped a beat after seeing Ambra’s crazy expression.

Ambra looked Rosina in the eye. She had a maniac smile as she replied. "I killed the previous King. A painful death he deserved after killing my beloved brother Gavino."

Rosina pursed her lips. She maintained her calm expression and pulled Ambra into a hug. She felt that Ambra needed comfort after digging the painful memory back.

"Okay, I understand now. You can cry if you want. I’m here for you," Rosina whispered and patted Ambra’s head. She could feel the hatred and emotions Ambra trapped inside her.

"I don’t cry... a-anymore," Ambra tried to act tough, but when she felt Rosina’s hand on her hair. That was enough to shatter her walls. Tears started falling uncontrollably from her eyes as she started to break down.

Rosina kept on comforting her while listening to Ambra’s cries. Memories of her past came back as well. After all, she was in the 13th pack before when she was young.

’That’s why you died..." Rosina thought, referring to the Previous Rogue King, who was Pepe’s father. Somehow, she didn’t feel sorry for him.

"Am I bad, my Queen? Will the M-moon goddess punish me?" Ambra whispered with fear.

"Shh, you did a good job at killing the previous Rogue King. So, don’t feel bad about it. Think of what you did as an act of revenge for your beloved brother," Rosina stated softly and rocked Ambra’s body to make her sleep after all that mental stress.

"O-okay," Ambra muttered while closing her eyes. It didn’t take long before she was fast asleep in Rosina’s arms.

Rosina carefully placed Ambra on the sofa. She stood up and grabbed a blanket to cover Ambra’s body. She glanced at her window and the sun was peeking into the sky.

’Ah, a new day,’ Rosina muttered and breathe deeply. She went to her bed and planned to sleep for a few hours. After all, she needed to prepare for what would happen when she woke up.

’I wonder what they would do at Dino’s corpse?’ Rosina thought. She had multiple scenarios playing inside her head. All of that thinking led her to fall asleep in a short time.
