Chapter 112: The Remaining Unsearched Pack
Draco was standing in front of the long table with his men on each side. They were overlooking the Werewolf realm map in deep silence.
It had been two weeks since Rosina had gone missing, and no one had found any tracks of her. They were stuck at level one with no means of progress, which frustrated Draco even more.
"Ah! Sh*!" Draco growled loudly before throwing his glass of wine over the map. He couldn’t sleep well for the past few days, and his nerves were on wreck.
"I only wanted a clue where she was taken, and none of you knew the answer!?" Draco shouted at his men with pure disappointment.
Even though they were in a contractual marriage, he could always cover Rosina being missing that they divorced. He couldn’t do it, especially when the wolf inside him was howling in sadness without Rosina in sight.
"We have scoured each pack, but they didn’t see nor find someone similar to Princess Rosina’s physical features," Gino Louni, appointed Beta of Draco, spoke carefully to not increase Draco’s frustration and anger.
"How is it possible that not a single soul in each pack had seen Rosina!?" Draco shouted in anger. His eyes were burning against Gino.
"Your Highness," a voice spoke behind the group. Silvio entered the door with a bow and behind him was a frail old woman. She was shivering in fear from the dominance radiating inside the room.
"Silvio, my friend," Draco sighed loudly and gestured for Silvio to come. "What news did you bring today?"
"Your Highness, I have a feeling that it wasn’t the first time she-wolves from each pack have gone missing. Although, they were reported as a runaway to become rogues. I still doubt that there’s more to the story," Silvio explained and stepped to the side, gesturing toward the old woman.
"This is Palmira Albano, mother of Donata Albano, one of the current missing she-wolves from the Midnight pack," Silvio added and smiled at Palmira to give her the courage to speak.
Palmira lowered her head in submission. She took a rolled paper from her pocket and handed it to Draco.
"T-that’s my daughter, Donata. She had gone missing more than t-two weeks ago. I tried reporting the incident to the Alpha, but the case was trashed, and my daughter was labeled as a rogue," Palmira sobbed but tried to calm herself to speak clearly.
"My d-daughter barely goes out of the house. The times she did were because of work or going to buy food for us. One day, she vanished without a trace," Palmira added while wiping the tears from her eyes.
"I see," Draco stated firmly. He looked at Palmira with deadpan eyes. "I pity what happened to your daughter, but what can you help in this case?"
Draco’s eyes shifted to Silvio since Palmira couldn’t speak anymore due to the emotions she was experiencing.
"Your Highness, someone saw Donata on the day she went missing. He was a baker and had his eyes on Donata," Silvio answered.
"Then where is he?" Draco’s eyes widened impatiently, wanting to meet the wolf and question him.
"He couldn’t come due to his current condition. He has been healing from the injuries he attained from the fight with the kidnappers, but he had told what he saw Palmira," Silvio glanced at Palmira, gesturing for her to speak, but her condition was preventing her from saying a word.
Silvio sighed and faced Draco since he didn’t want to force Palmira to communicate. "Your Highness, it is said that when Donata came out from the bakery. A man approached her, and they talked for a few minutes before Donata was convinced to follow him. There are also male wolves on guard to prevent anyone from taking their prey."
"Meo Arcuri, the baker, rushed outside to follow Donata and save her, but he was blocked by a couple of wolves and got beaten to the point he was closer to death."
Draco clenched his fist at the words he heard from Silvio. "Do you know who the mastermind behind the kidnapping was?"
Silvio shook his head. The guilt was eating him alive every day, and he was still blaming himself for what happened to Rosina, which made him work hard to search for her, no matter how much it took.
"No, Your Highness, but we already searched the twelve werewolf packs for two weeks and gained nothing. Then, there’s only one left," Silvio stated and looked at the map with broken glass.
Draco’s eyes widened from the realization. He didn’t think of it before, but the answer might have always been there.
"The 13th pack," Draco muttered and looked at the farthest pack on the map.
"Yes, the 13th pack is a dangerous place for any werewolves, but it’s habitable for rogues who had no place to live," Silvio answered while glaring at the map.
The rest of the werewolves around grumbled and started voicing their opinion.
"Your Highness, if we will travel to the 13th pack. We need a lot of troops to battle with those vicious rogues!" Adalberto Rizzo, the appointed Zeta, spoke with determination.
"Yes, we should," Draco answered with gritted teeth. His eyes bore hatred to the 13th pack’s map. "Everyone, we will prepare and travel to the 13th pack in two days. I want everyone to be prepared since this might be a bloody battle."
"Yes! Your Highness!"
Everyone left the room except Draco and Silvio, who remained fixated on the map.
"Will you be okay, Draco?" Silvio stated with worry to his friend. He knew what history the 13th pack had with him.
"I’ll be fine, Silvio. For now, I wanted to be alone," Draco replied nonchalantly.
Without a word, Silvio bowed and left the room. Leaving Draco all by himself.
Draco’s eyes turned dark since his wolf was acting up. After all, his brother, the 2nd Prince, died during the battle against the rogues in the 13th pack.
