Chapter 102: The Unknown Pack

Pepe had toured Rosina in the land without a word. He wanted to show her the pack that he was leading.

Rosina was surprised, even if they weren’t quite civilized. The place was decent enough to live peacefully. She could even agree that the pack was more peaceful than the Sabrecrown pack.

"Do you like the place?" Pepe asked and looked into Rosina’s eyes. They were currently in the open clearing surrounded by tall trees. Tiny white flowers bloomed on the ground, making the place look more magical.

"I won’t lie. This place is beautiful," Rosina stated while looking at the sky. The sun wasn’t hot that day, and it felt refreshing on the skin.

"Is this the right time to ask questions?" Rosina added and smiled at Pepe.

Pepe was leaning against the tree since he didn’t want to bathe in the sun. He enjoyed watching Rosina enjoying herself on her own.

"Say it," Pepe stated nonchalantly, but he already knew her upcoming questions.

"I will ask the same question. What pack is this?" Rosina asked and faced Pepe while sitting on the grass.

Pepe stared at her big eyes before sighing. "This place was once a mighty pack but was destroyed by power, leading to its own destruction. Abandoned, wolves from other packs that decided to leave went here for safety since they will be killed if they crossed another territory."

Rosina opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. Her brain started processing what Pepe said, and she already had few answers in her mind.

"Chaos, murder, and blood spilled were normal at this place decades ago until one man stood up and dominated the place. Building their own pack since no one would accept them without being made into a slave," Pepe continued as he walked toward Rosina.

"This place progressed until the throne was handed in my hands," Pepe lifted Rosina’s chin and made her look into his emerald eyes. "Do you have any guesses?"

Rosina bit her lips. She didn’t need to guess since she already knew what place she was standing into. Memories of her past started to emerge, but she tried her best to keep them in since she didn’t want Pepe to see her vulnerability.

Pepe was waiting for her to answer. He could see in Rosina’s eyes that she already had one in her mind. A smile sketched on his lips, and he smelled her scent, but all he could smell was the lilac oil in her body.

"The 13th pack," Rosina answered. Her voice was flat, and her eyes became dull as she spoke those words.

"Good girl," Pepe stated and touched Rosina’s hair that got untucked from her pin.

Rosina didn’t say anything. She fisted her hands tightly to control herself and acted like she was fine.

"I’m surprised you didn’t react negatively," Pepe whispered and caressed Rosina’s cheeks. He was expecting her to throw a tantrum or tremble in fear. After all, the 13th pack was known to be inhabitant by rogues.

"Why would I?" Rosina asked with a forced smile. She knows about the 13th pack all too well.

"Nothing," Pepe shook his head and stood up, towering over her. "Let’s go back now."

Pepe took a step back and held his hand for Rosina to take.

Rosina looked at him in surprise. She didn’t expect that Pepe would be a gentleman while they were alone, even though he always looked cold from the outside.

"So, you’re the rogue King," Rosina stated while taking Pepe’s hand. His skin was rough and hard, evidence of hard work for years.

Pepe smiled, but he didn’t answer. He pulled Rosina to her feet and let go of her hand. He started walking away while observing Rosina and whether she would run away or follow him.

Rosina stood still on her spot and looked at Pepe’s figure at the back. She always wanted to look at his body from afar to see if he suited her taste.

A smirk danced on Rosina’s lips before she started walking toward Pepe. She wasn’t naive and knew why Pepe was treating her a little special compared to the other she-wolves.

Aside from their thought, Rosina was from a good background and hinted that she might be noble. They also looked at her face and body, which was more desirable compared to the rest.

But Rosina knew Pepe was looking at her intellect and manners compared to her physical features. All she needed to know was what purpose she stood to Pepe.

"Don’t you want to wait for me?" Rosina stated and walked beside Pepe but made sure to create a distance between him. She was testing Pepe on what kind of she-wolf he liked.

Pepe glanced at her. "You should walk faster then."

Rosina rolled her eyes, which made Pepe chuckle but held it in. He didn’t want Rosina to see him as weak or too gentle for her since she might take advantage of it.

Both of them walked in silence while trying to get comfortable in each other’s presence and adjusting to it.

Pepe couldn’t help but glance at her every second since her beauty had captured his interest, and the way she moved and carried herself was a plus to him.

"You will be perfect for this pack," Pepe stated and faced Rosina. His words were soft and sincere.

Rosina blinked multiple times as she sunk in the words Pepe stated into her brain. "What do you mean?" she asked since she wanted confirmation rather than being confused by his words.

Pepe smiled and caressed Rosina’s cheeks. His eyes were soft and hazy while looking at her. "You are perfect."

Rosina pursed her lips. She knew what he meant, but she wasn’t his mate. Rosina took his hands away and held them in front of her chest.

"I am not your mate," Rosina stated softly. Even though she knew that meeting your mate was rare in the Werewolf realm. She didn’t want to steal a place meant for someone, but most of all, she was married to Draco even though it was a contracted marriage.
