Alpha Damon's Greatest Regret
Chapter 112- Stubborn

Chapter 112: Chapter 112- Stubborn

Damon’s pov

She was still screaming, no longer begging as the guards dragged her to the dungeon as she continued to struggle with them.

The dungeons’ chilly air which was heavy with moisture and the smell of rusted iron stuck to my body. The room feels tighter and smaller because of the sharp shadows created by the flickering torches on the stone walls.

Trixies fragile wrists were shackled to the chair in the middle of the room and the chains shook as she moved against them.

Despite the fact that every muscle in my body ached from exhaustion and my eyes almost closed as I fought against the substances in the drink, I watched her in silence breathing slowly.

The edges of my vision became blurry and my limbs felt heavier than they should have.

My strength was being eaten by the poison—no the sleeping pills—that remained in my system. But I wouldn’t allow it to be seen.

Her goal was to make me weaker. And yet here she sat, her lips curled into something that was neither a frown nor a smile serene almost amused.

I stepped forward and steadied myself by holding onto the edge of the wooden table between us and I exhaled.

"Don’t let me force you, tell me who you are ."

Even though I was tired my voice was firm and hoarse. Trixie cocked her head with a dark gleam in her eyes.

"I told you already she said with ease. "Nobody, Alpha Damon."

I clenched my jaw.

Lies.

I felt a wave of anger as I put my feet firmly on the stone floor and clenched my fist to force the anger down.

"Who gave you the order?"

Her chains clattered softly as she shrugged.

"Do you really think I could do that on my own?"

I sank my nails into the wood. I think that if you would gain anything from it, you would do it." Trixie chuckled softly, cocking her head back a little.

"You like me don’t you." She cooed. "I know that you won’t do anything to me because you haven’t seen a woman like me before."

"Shut up, you might get banished if you don’t cooperate."

She let out a loud sigh. "All right all right."

I straightened, my heart pounding in my chest. She leaned forward a little and spoke in a tone that bordered on conspiracy.

"I was asked to do it by someone very close to you."

My fingers quivered.

"Who is it?"

With a sly smile, Trixie parted her lips as if she was relishing the moment.

"I could tell you..." she said slowly her gaze fixed on mine.

"What’s in it for me though?"

The room seemed even more constrained. The effort to keep myself together became intolerable as my breathing became labored. She could see how I was having trouble staying upright and how my body was failing me. Her eyes darkened as she licked her lips.

Her voice brimmed with fake sweetness as she whispered.

"Let me out of here Damon. I’ll tell you everything too."

My fists clenched. "You can’t engage in negotiations."

She smiled more broadly. "Aren’t I? The chains around her wrists shifted as she leaned back in her chair the metal scuffing against the stone.

With a smooth voice, she noted.

"You’re sweating.Your hands are trembling."

I was completely unaware of it

With a slow exhale she cocked her head.

"Alpha how much did you drink?"

Doubt crept up my spine for a moment and my breath caught. Her voice dropped to a seductive whisper as she leaned forward once more.

"You must get some rest. I can help you with some massage."

I swallowed against the surge of nausea in my throat.

Purring she said.

"Let me out and I’ll cheer you up, Alpha Damon."

I felt disgusted not desire burning my skin. In order to steady my spinning head I took a deep breath and turned away for a moment.

She thought that she had me. She thought that I was weak because of my tiredness. With icy eyes and a steely voice, I turned back.

"You spiked my drink."

Her smile spread across her face.

" Just a bit."

With anger simmering beneath my ribs I let out a breath through my nose.

Trixies lips curled upward as she blinked slowly. "Should I tell you who—"

My stomach knotted, and I moved forward and grabbed her chair’s arm tilting it just enough to make her lose her balance.

"Who is it?"

Something made her gaze waver—was it hesitation, a moment of uncertainty?—but she quickly recovered and shook her head.

"Soon enough you’ll know."

"Stopped playing games."

I looked at the security officer by the cell door. "Bring in the whip."

Trixie tensed up her breathing catching just enough for me to see. Then she grinned once more.

"Damon, you would never hurt me."

I remained silent. I just faced the guard.

The whip had been uncoiled. In the faint torchlight, the leather gleamed. For the first time, Trixie’s self-confidence wavered.

"Hold on," she said.

My eyebrows went up.

"Are you ready to talk now?"

She swallowed looking from the whip to me.

"All right," she muttered at last. "You win."

There was a heavy and thick silence between us.

"Come on, Alpha. Let me make you feel. good in bed and you will soon forget about this." She leaned forward and I saw her breasts almost spilling out. "Let’s celebrate this night together."

My jaw tightened. With her lips parted she leaned in.

The air was then broken by a slashing slap.

She had been struck hard across the face by one of the guards who had stepped forward. Trixie’s head snapped sideways as the sound echoed off the stone walls. A slow startled breath escaped her mouth.

Then she burst out laughing. Low and wicked.

With a flick of her tongue, she tasted the blood from her split lip, and with sparkling eyes, she whispered.

"Oh Alpha. You don’t know what’s going to happen."

That evening for the first time a shiver ran down my back.
