Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Taking the Initiative Once

The woman probably didn’t expect this elegant, beautifully dressed woman to speak so sharply, and her hand froze in the moment.

Ouyang Qing stood up, directly snatching the bag from the woman’s hand. She looked at the embarrassed woman and said unceremoniously, "We don’t need help from people like you from the countryside!"

The little girl beside the woman was probably so frightened by Ouyang Qing’s demeanor that she burst into tears. The woman quickly hugged her child, and seeing her child like this, she couldn’t help but cry and apologize.

Ouyang Qing, annoyed by the crying, waved her hand and said, "Enough, enough, go cry somewhere else. It’s getting on my nerves!"

"I’m sorry, truly sorry." The woman said, sniffling, while holding her child and leaving.

After the woman left, Ouyang Qing fell into a sulk again.

"I don’t even know when Aunt will come to pick me up. By the time she arrives, who knows if I’ll even make it back alive. It’s so tough here... so much worse than at Gu Fuqiao’s place!" As Ouyang Qing mumbled, a hand suddenly landed on her shoulder.

She turned around and saw that it was Ouyang Xuan standing behind her.

"When did you get here, sneaking around like a ghost?" Ouyang Qing sighed and said.

Ouyang Xuan leisurely pushed up his glasses and said, "Not too long, just arrived. I heard you were back and came to see you. What made you suddenly return?"

Hearing this, Ouyang Qing was filled with anger.

She frowned and said, "It’s all Gu Fuqiao’s fault... and the Gu Family; turns out there’s not a single good person! Now that I’ve got no use, they’re just throwing me out."

On the way back, Ouyang Qing thought carefully about what Gu Fuqiao said this morning. Yes, Old Mrs. Gu is so fond of Uncle; if Uncle and Aunt wanted to keep her, it would be easy!

So, it must be because she’s no longer valuable!

Ouyang Xuan didn’t expect Ouyang Qing to speak this way, but her words aligned with his thoughts. He nodded and smiled, saying, "My dear sister, you’ve finally seen through the Gu family’s intentions. But it’s good that you’ve realized it now, it’s not too late. We siblings can still get what we deserve together!"

Ouyang Xuan’s words gave Ouyang Qing some confidence. She looked up at Ouyang Xuan and asked, "What’s the plan?"

After Ouyang Qing left, the Gu Family was considerably quieter. Although Mother Gu seemed a bit listless, at least she wasn’t picking fights with Gu Fuqiao over every little thing, and Father Gu was completely focused on reading and taking care of Mother Gu.

After lunch, Gu Fuqiao went to her room to pack her things and prepare to head home. As soon as she returned to her room, Sister Sun came down, holding some books in her hands.

"Miss Sun, the old lady has prepared a few review materials for you. She said these are even more useful than the ones you took a few days ago." So these books were review materials.

Gu Fuqiao nodded, took the books, and said, "Sister Sun, please go back and thank Grandma for me."

After speaking, she bowed her head again to sort out her things, but she sensed that Sister Sun hadn’t left yet. Looking up, she saw Sister Sun watching her intently.

Sister Sun, caught watching, smiled awkwardly and said, "Miss Sun, you’ve changed from before. You used to be indifferent to the old lady, and she was secretly a bit sad."

The former disrespectful attitude was known to Gu Fuqiao. She shook her head lightly and said, "That was because I was immature. Now, I know Grandma is the best to me."

Hearing this, Sister Sun nodded repeatedly and said, "Yes, the current Miss is truly admirable. Why not stay for dinner before heading back?"

"No, once I finish packing and head home, it’ll be nearly dark. The weather’s been bad lately, it might rain unexpectedly, so it’s better to go home early." Gu Fuqiao shook her head and declined.

When she’s home, she doesn’t feel Yan Zhen Guo’s absence that much, although his presence could sometimes be an eyesore. But recently not seeing him, and being stuck with the Gu family’s extreme parents, she found herself missing Yan Zhen Guo.

She couldn’t wait to be back by his side.

Besides, in the few days she’s been away, who knows what kind of dull life Yan Zhen Guo might have led with his cold-water noodle habits.

After packing, Gu Fuqiao walked toward the apartment complex, and just as she reached downstairs, she saw, from a distance, a tall figure waiting beside a tree.

Standing straight like a poplar tree, the figure didn’t move, resembling a javelin.

Who else could it be but her Yan Zhen Guo!

Gu Fuqiao immediately carried her things and ran to Yan Zhen Guo. Seeing him, she blinked and asked, "Why did you come downstairs? Did you know I was coming back?"

"Yes." Yan Zhen Guo nodded slightly, reaching out to take the things from Gu Fuqiao’s hand. "I finished my work today and planned to pick you up. Then Grandma called, saying you were back."

With so much happening in the past few days, Gu Fuqiao was exhausted. Seeing Yan Zhen Guo carrying her luggage, she felt quite unburdened and quickly headed upstairs to take a bath.

Although the facilities at home couldn’t compare to those at the Gu’s, Gu Fuqiao still preferred this home of her own.

Just after freshening up, feeling relaxed, she walked out and suddenly saw a shadow rushing towards her.

"Ah, who!" Gu Fuqiao screamed, only to be pulled against a muscular chest.

"It’s me." The man’s hoarse voice sounded like a spark in the dark.

Gu Fuqiao hadn’t expected Yan Zhen Guo to pounce on her like this right after returning, leaving her a bit dazed. She poked his shoulder and said, "Dude, what are you doing?"

Raising an eyebrow, Yan Zhen Guo scooped her up onto his shoulder and headed for the room: "What you said before you left."

What did she say before leaving? Gu Fuqiao thought carefully and remembered, back then, she really liked Yan Zhen Guo and decided to give him a little reward.

After putting Gu Fuqiao on the bed, Yan Zhen Guo asked, "Did you remember?"

Gu Fuqiao nodded, "I remembered." Just as she finished speaking, Yan Zhen Guo lunged towards her.

"Wait a minute." Gu Fuqiao turned to the side, but Yan Zhen Guo still caught her slender ankle.

"Regret it?"

"No, since I promised, I intend to follow through." Gu Fuqiao removed Yan Zhen Guo’s hand and turned to sit on his waist.

Yan Zhen Guo didn’t expect Gu Fuqiao to be so proactive, and when she pinned him down, he was momentarily stunned.

"Since I’m initiating, you don’t have to move today." Gu Fuqiao thought about how Yan Zhen Guo was usually so good to her and decided to take the lead for once.
