Chapter 26: Chapter 26 I will go with my friend
As there was no subsequent evidence indicating who fabricated the fake recording, Shane didn’t investigate Renea for it. The matter was discussed for two days before it got overshadowed by another incident that came to light.
“Kailey, congratulations! You have just entered the school, yet you have already been chosen as Richard’s dance partner.”
“Yeah, Kailey, I am so envious of you. Since you get to be close to everyone’s idol, you better get his autographs for us.”
Kailey was surrounded by people who showered her with flattery and attentiveness.
Although Kailey enjoyed being supported by so many people, she was even happier about her collaboration with Richard.
This meant that she was about to have her debut.
‘Humph, even if Renea is the top student of the entire batch, can she be fortunate enough to work with Richard?’
‘In terms of temperament, a fake heiress like her is no match for me.” Kailey contemplated.
Ever since everyone learned about Kailey’s upcoming collaboration with Richard, people would surround her wherever she went.
Even Jasper followed diligently by her side.
Observing the crowd surrounding Kailey, Stella grumbled, “Why does your boyfriend tag along like a loyal dog?”
“For your kind information, he is not my boyfriend,” Renea corrected Stella.
Stella raised an eyebrow playfully and said, “He used to profess his love for you all the time, but now he is circling another woman. Doesn’t that bother you even a little bit?”
“You said it’s like dealing with a dog. Am I supposed to bicker with a dog?” Renea asked with a chuckle.
Stella was rendered speechless.
She used to think she was good with comebacks. However, compared to Renea, she paled significantly.
“Renea!” Kailey approached with a faint smile.
“I am about to attend Richard’s piano recital. The staff mentioned they have complimentary tickets. Tickets for Richard’s concert are hard to come by. Do you want me to reserve two for you?”
It seemed like Kailey was displaying a sisterly bond, but in reality, her tone was filled with sarcasm and mockery.
Everyone knew Kailey was chosen because of that red-dress dance during the initial auditions. Renea performed the same dance in the same outfit and received a perfect score, yet she was overlooked.
Everyone sensed the irony in the situation and cast a contemptuous gaze.
Stella glared at Kailey and thought, ‘How could she ask Renea publicly about it? She is purposely making her look bad!’
Stella was about to speak up for Renea when she got pulled back by Renea.
“Sure!” Renea replied.
Stella looked at her in disbelief.
However, Renea only looked at Kailey with a smile.
“She is so think-skinned. I wonder how she got the nerve to accept it.”
“Exactly! How is she still in the mood to smile? I wonder how she became the top scorer.”
“Who knows what methods she used? Even the vice principal started siding with her!”
Disdainful curses and scornful glances were coming from everywhere.
The more fiercely they scolded, the more secretly delighted Kailey felt in her heart. She contemplated, ‘Renea, I intend to show everyone you are inferior to me.’
Renea maintained a faint smile all along, yet her smile didn’t carry a hint of warmth. Instead, it felt like ice, with bone-chilling spikes.
“When the staff delivers the tickets tomorrow, I will give them to you. Since you want two tickets, are you planning to watch the show with Jasper?” Kailey asked while feigning puzzlement.
“What’s the relationship between Renea and Jasper?”
“I heard that they used to high school classmates and that Renea likes Jasper.”
“Is she even a match? Since Jasper got elected as the academy’s heartthrob, he is naturally most suitable for the prettiest girl in the academy, Kailey.”
Stella, who had been clenching her fists, couldn’t stand it anymore.
She scolded inwardly, ‘Kailey did it on purpose!’
“Nope!” Renea replied indifferently. Then, she reached out to wrap her arm around Stella’s shoulder and said, “I am watching it with my best friend.”
These words weren’t much of a harm to Jasper, but they were a great insult to him.
She was blatantly telling everyone that the so-called campus heartthrob wasn’t even comparable to a woman.
Jasper’s expression darkened.
Stella struggled to suppress a laugh. She wrapped her arm around Renea’s waist and provocatively looked at Kailey.
Those who had whispered their disdain for Renea just a moment ago now felt a sharp sting of embarrassment.
“Renea, why did you accept the deliberate charity from Kailey?” Stella asked discontentedly. She added, “If you want to go to the concert, I can figure out a way to get you tickets.”
Renea smiled and replied, “When someone personally offers, why make it complicated?”
“I never thought you had be a fan too.” Stella cast a disdainful look. In her eyes, being a fan was a foolish thing.
Renea stopped smiling, and said, “I just want to listen to the piano recital.”
Whether one could grasp the essence of dance depended on whether the music could immerse the dancer in that feeling.
It was well-known that Richard’s piano skills had reached a state of transcendence. Thus, Renea wanted to see that sensation.
