Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 99: LEFT UNATTENDED

Chapter 99: LEFT UNATTENDED

Astrid shut her room door, a bit annoyed at the way she was being treated, and also guilty for talking to Maren that way.

Maren only wanted to help her, she shouldn’t have used that tone on her, but she had no choice, her mum’s illness was taking a toll on her.

Just then her phone buzzed, "I hope you will be able to share your pain one day, I would like to be a good friend to you." she read the message, sighed, and then tossed her phone to the bed.

Crouching her pillow close to her chest she didn’t know where tears rolled down her eyes.

Her thoughts flashed back to the happy time she spent with her mom, even though it was just a few years.

Astrid’s mind began to revisit the haunting memories of her childhood. Her father’s brutal beatings of her mother still lingered, even though she was still there when it happened she recalled it. It etched in her mind like an open wound.

She covered her ears, attempting to block out the painful recollections, but the sudden power outage plunged her into darkness. Panic set in, her eyes widening in terror.

"This can’t happen now," she whispered, her voice trembling. The darkness suffocated her, transporting her back to those dreadful nights.

Her heart was racing, her breathing became labored, and she felt herself spiraling into a panic attack.

Fear gripped her, refusing to let go. She envisioned her mother’s battered body, the sound of her father’s rage still echoing in her mind.

The memories overwhelmed her, making her physically ill. Suddenly, the door burst open, the force of the movement making her scream.

She scrambled off the bed, her hands frantically searching for something, anything, to defend herself.

Her fingers wrapped around a nearby vase, and she sprinted to the corner of the room. In her desperation, she had removed her glasses, momentarily forgetting her surroundings. Julian’s presence surprised her.

Julian’s eyes adjusted to the dim light, and he was taken aback by Astrid’s frantic state. "Hey, what’s wrong with you? I just wanted to..." He trailed off, witnessing her trembling form, huddled in the corner.

"Stay away from me! Don’t hurt me! I hate you!" Astrid’s voice cracked, her words laced with desperation and fear.

Julian’s expression transformed from concern to shock. He took a cautious step forward, palms open in a calming gesture. "Astrid, I’m the one. Julian. You’re safe."

Astrid’s gaze darted wildly, her eyes struggling to adjust to the darkness. Julian’s gentle tone barely registered, her mind still trapped in the nightmare of her past.

"Astrid, please," Julian whispered, edging closer. "I won’t hurt you. You’re safe with me."

Astrid’s chest heaved, her breath coming in ragged gasps. The vase still clutched in her hand, she regarded Julian warily.

His face, illuminated by the faint hallway light, seemed to blur and distort, conjuring images of her father’s twisted expression.

"No, no, no," she whispered, shaking her head. "You’re just like him. You will hurt me."

Julian’s face contorted in anguish. He understood the depth of Astrid’s pain, the scars that still lingered. With deliberate slowness, he sank to his knees, bridging the distance between them.

"Astrid, listen to me," he implored, his voice soft and soothing. "I am not him. I would never hurt you. You’re safe."

But Astrid’s trembling voice pierced Julian’s heart. "Da... dad... pl... please don’t hurt me." The desperation in her words froze him in place, his mind reeling from the revelation.

He can’t help but wonder why Josh, her father, had inflicted unimaginable pain, leaving scars that still lingered.

Julian’s expression softened, his eyes filled with compassion. "I won’t hurt you, Astrid. You have a beautiful soul, no good person would ever want to harm you. Just allow me..." He paused, his hand stretching toward her, inviting trust.

Astrid remained silent, her gaze fixed on the floor. Julian’s gentle tone and soothing words slowly chipped away at her defenses. He took another step closer, his movements deliberate and calming.

"Allow me to comfort you," Julian whispered, his voice held with empathy. His hand wrapped gently around her waist, pulling her close. Astrid didn’t resist, her body relaxing into his embrace.

Julian’s fingers entwine with hers, his touch warm and reassuring. He patted her hair gently, his hands moving to her back in a soothing gesture. "I am here now, Astrid. No one will hurt you, not even Josh."

Astrid raised her head, her eyes searching for Julian’s face, though her blurred vision hindered her. She sought solace in his expression, hoping to find reassurance.

Suddenly, a dam burst within her. Tears streamed down her face, and she buried herself in Julian’s chest. "Astrid... wh... why are you crying more?" Julian’s voice cracked with concern.

Astrid shook her head, unable to speak. Her body trembled, overcome by emotions. Julian enveloped her in a warm hug, swallowing hard as she grasped him tightly.

"It’s okay, Astrid. I am here. You’re safe," Julian whispered, his lips brushing against her ear. His words became a gentle mantra, calming her ragged breath.

"Th... thank you..." she mumbled over his nape, he was confused about what she was appreciating him for but he couldn’t say anything.

As he gently laid her on the bed, he noticed how fragile she seemed, her exhaustion evident. Concern etched on his face, he adjusted the lamp to soften the light.

"Are you afraid of the dark?" he asked, his voice warm and soothing.

She shook her head, a faint smile on her lips.

As he gazed at her, he was captivated by her beauty, even in weakness. Her porcelain skin, her delicate features, and her vulnerable expression all drew him in.

"What are you staring at?" she asked about standing up but he leaned further making her heart skip.

"Ju... Julian is there something wrong she asked," she could see his stare but she could sense his eyes were fixed in a direction.

Unaware of his gaze, she reached for her glasses on the nightstand, but he swiftly caught her hands, holding them gently.

"Don’t," he whispered, his eyes locked onto hers. "Wh... What?"

Their faces inches apart, he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers. She didn’t resist, she was surrendering to his tender touch.

As their lips touched, he felt a spark of electricity. He knew he shouldn’t be kissing her, not when his heart still belonged to Mattie. But at this moment, he couldn’t help himself.

She didn’t pull away, despite knowing his heart wasn’t fully hers. Perhaps it was the comfort of his presence or the escape from her worries. Whatever the reason, she let him kiss her, her lips responding softly.

Time stood still as they savored the moment, the world outside fading away.

After a while Julian stopped and shut his eyes, he knew he might hurt her heart again. " You now give me the permission to kiss nowadays," Julian stated.

"You never asked," she let out and Julian didn’t miss how her tone had gone back to her normal state and he was relieved.

"Are you feeling guilty now?" she asked.

He snorted at this, she couldn’t see him, so he did the first feeling that came to his mind by shaking his head.

But the words that came from his mouth were different. "You love the attention I give you, so I will allow you to have the advantage to kiss me just like you kissed the unknown guy the other day,"

Astrid tried to hold herself not to freak out and get mad at him, she tried picking up her glasses but Julian took it from the table gently.

He tilted his head as she watched her look for it, she searched for a while and stopped now looking back at Julian.

"Guess you are so happy to get me furious whenever you kiss me, I wonder what you’re gonna do if we ever have sex?" Julian’s eyes furrowed at this, "Sex?"

"Are you expecting sex from me now?" Astrid lowered her head embarrassed she felt like the ground would swallow her.

"Leav..." her words were cut short when leaned closer, she shifted back and he just stared at her.

"When I see your face, why do I always think it’s familiar," she rolled her eyes a this.

"Hand me my glasses," she requested, her tone tinged with irritation at his hesitant demeanor.

He smirked, a hint of amusement dancing on his lips, and handed her the glasses. She put them on, her gaze now crystal clear as she looked at him.

"It’s nighttime, I need to sleep and get ready for work tomorrow," she stated, her voice firm but her eyes betraying a glimmer of warmth.

Their gazes locked, the air thickening with tension. He stepped closer, his eyes burning with intensity, and she felt her pulse quicken.

As they sat there, the space between them shrinking, their faces inches apart, the anticipation was palpable. It was as if time had stopped, leaving only the two of them, suspended in this electric moment.

His hand reached out, brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Her skin tingles at the gentle touch.

Their lips almost touched, the tension between them crackling like a live wire. The world around them melted away, leaving only the promise of a kiss.

Just as their lips were about to meet, the room suddenly flickered to life, shattering the intimate atmosphere.

They sprang apart, startled, as reality rushed back in.

"Goodnight.." she let out swallowing hard at the thought of him almost kissing her again.

Julian and the other side, just stood there unbothered, he gave a slight nod turning around to leave until she stopped him.

"Julian.. I still have two wishes remaining right?" he glanced back at her as she smiled back at him.

"What are your thoughts? Trying to do?" he asked with a small smirk.

"Cook me meals, I am famished." he snorted and nodded his head.

"But I am the one to pick what you will eat," Astrid nodded, not bothering to bicker with him.

"Alright, expect it gets soon," you walked out of the room, and then he picked mine happier than her street face. She wasn’t expecting him to accept that quickly, but he did anyway.

She would have tagged along with him, but she was too tired to walk down the stairs. Since he had offered to bring it up for her. She is forever grateful.

Hours past Julian was still not coming with the food. She then decided to go downstairs herself, even though she was so tired she walked out of her room and the kitchen that was where she met a maid but there were no Julian sites.

She was surprised at first, seeing an empty kitchen, and then she just chatted with me to come close to her.

"Where is Julian? I expected him to be here, but..." the lady looked down and then sighed.

"Boss came to the kitchen but all of a sudden he received a call from the hospital saying Ma’am Mattie was awake and wanted to see him so he left."
