Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 98: DONT BUTT INTO MY BUSINESS

Chapter 98: DONT BUTT INTO MY BUSINESS

Julian paced back and forth in front of the hospital room, his eyes fixed on the door as if willing to open and reveal good news.

Mattie’s parents, Tonia and Zach, stood beside him, their faces etched with worry.

Tonia’s eyes flashed with anger, her voice trembling. "This is all your fault, Julian. If my daughter hadn’t loved you so much, she wouldn’t be lying there fighting for her life."

Julian’s eyes dropped, his shoulders slumping under the weight of guilt.

"Aunty, please... I—"

But Tonia wouldn’t let him finish. She strode toward him, her hands clenched into fists. "You’re the reason she’s in there! You and your recklessness!"

She struck Julian’s chest, her blows raining down on him. Julian didn’t defend himself, accepting the punishment as if it was his due.

"Her marriage got ruined because of the little devil, still you are choosing her over my daughter?"

"I am sorry Aunty," he apologized, but she yelled at him.

"Tell your stupid sorry to yourself," she yelled.

Just then Zach intervened, gently prying Tonia away from Julian.

"Tonia, stop. This isn’t helping."

Still in the middle of the commotion Stephana and other doctors walked out of the OR room with a somber expression.

"Please, let’s discuss Mattie’s condition," Dr. Patel said, her voice calm and authoritative.

Tonia’s anger dissipated, replaced by desperation. "Doctor, how is my baby? Is she going to be okay?"

Another took Stephan’s position knowing how heartbreaking it was for him.

His expression softened. "She is stable, but she’s suffered significant injuries. Her leg is badly broken, and she will require crutches for several weeks."

Julian’s eyes widened. "Crutches?"

"Yes,"he confirmed. "And she’s also suffered a concussion. We will need to monitor her closely for the next few days."

Zach asked, "Will she... will she make a full recovery?"

The doctor nodded. "We’re optimistic, but it’s too early to predict the full extent of her recovery. We will need to run more tests and monitor her progress."

Tonia’s face crumpled, tears streaming down her face. "My baby... my poor baby."

Julian’s eyes stung, his throat constricting. He felt helpless, and responsible for Mattie’s pain.

He then placed a reassuring hand on Tonia’s shoulder. "We’re doing everything we can for Mattie. She’s in good hands."

As the doctor returned to the hospital room, Tonia’s gaze snapped back to Julian, her anger reigniting.

"You’re not welcome here," she spat. "Leave." Julian hesitated, unsure what to do. Zach placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Julian, maybe it’s best if you give us some space."

Julian nodded, his heart heavy with guilt and worry. He turned and walked away, leaving Mattie’s family to their anguish.

The hospital corridor seemed to stretch on forever, Julian’s footsteps echoing off the sterile walls. He felt lost, unsure how to make things right.

As he pushed through the hospital doors, the cool evening air hit him like a slap in the face. He took a deep breath, his eyes scanning the darkening sky.

What had he done?

And how could he make it right?

His hands roughly through his head, he noticed a familiar car parked in front of the hospital building.

"Ryan?" He called and his assistant was behind him.

"Isn’t that.." Ryan gazes traced down there only to see the car which had also caught his attention.

"That looks like Mrs. Logan’s car," he completed and Jukian glared at him.

So that means I am not hallucinating right? Larry, why the fuck the phones of the hospital?

"Okay Boss," he watched Ryam strolling down there but he wasn’t comfortable standing there and doing nothing so he tagged along.

Ryan got to the car and knocked on the window, which rolled down almost immediately.

"Larry, what are you doing here with the boss’ car?" Ryans was pushed out of the way as Julian bent over.

"Why is she here?" he asked and Larry swallowed hard not knowing the response to give.

"I asked a question I wouldn’t want things to go ugly between us,"

"I... I..."

"I told him to bring me here," he heard the familiar voice as he turned back to see her looking exhausted and weak.

He sprinted towards her, "You are supposed to be resting you’re not even healed from the surgery yet and you’re already walking around you’re supposed to fucking be in bed right now,"

She slapped his hands off her shoulder, "Are you doing that supposed to be here if I can’t,"

"Astrid! You need to listen to me. I have other things I know the way to take care of myself you’re a lady you’re not supposed to be outside but this time."

"Whatever," she stated about walking off but he pulled her back.

"Why were you here in the first place?" she snickered at this.

"Excuse me? Why do you want to know what’s going on in my life,"

"Because I am your husband," she nodded her head in the form of approval.

"Yes, you are tell me why you have been here the whole day you don’t even take my calls,

Astrid’s eyes flashed with defiance as she stood tall, her voice firm. "That’s for me to decide, not yours. Just follow whatever I do, and let’s keep our lives separate."

Julian’s face darkened, his jaw clenched. "So we understand each other? Don’t butt into my life, and I won’t interfere with yours. I came here for my reasons, and you don’t need to know." she added.

"Larry, let’s go," Astrid announced, turning to leave.

But Julian’s grip on her arm was sudden and rough, spinning her back around. "I fucking asked a question!" His anger boiled over, eyes blazing.

Larry intervened swiftly, his voice calm. "Boss, she was worried about you and asked me to bring her to the hospital so she could see you."

Julian’s grip on Astrid’s arm loosened, surprise etched on his face.

Astrid’s eyes narrowed. "Really?" She slapped his hands off, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Thank you for showing me how you will react. Go back to your fiancée and let me live my life." Her words cut deep, laced with hurt.

With a swift motion, Astrid got into the car. Larry bowed slightly, his expression a mixture of understanding and gratitude, before following her into the vehicle.

As they drove away, Astrid let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you so much, Larry. I really appreciate it."

Larry’s eyes met hers in the rearview mirror. "No problem, ma’am. I’m just glad I caught on to the situation quickly. Otherwise, I might have lost my job."

Astrid’s gaze softened, guilt creeping into her expression. "You felt guilty about potentially losing your job if anyone found out you helped me avoid Julian?"

Larry nodded. "Yes, ma’am. I knew you had connections higher up, and if they discovered I’d helped you evade Julian, it would mean trouble for me."

Astrid’s thoughts swirled, reflecting on the complex web of relationships and power dynamics at play.

As they drove further away from the hospital, Astrid’s tension eased, replaced by gratitude toward Larry.

"Thank you again, Larry. Your discretion means a lot to me."

Larry smiled, his eyes crinkling. "Anytime, ma’am. Your secret is safe with me."

The city lights blurred outside, Astrid lost in thought, while Larry focused on the road,

When they finally got home, Astrid breathed a sigh of relief as she stepped out of the car and onto the mansion’s driveway.

She had narrowly avoided Julian’s prying questions, thanks to her quick thinking.

As she entered the mansion, Maren looked up from the couch, laptop and papers scattered around her. Astrid’s gaze locked onto Maren’s, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.

"Welcome back," Maren said, a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "You really went to the office today and decided to come late."

Astrid’s eyes narrowed slightly, detecting the undertone. She walked closer to Maren, taking in her disheveled appearance hair tied up in a messy bun, glasses perched on the end of her nose, and a shirt.

Despite the rough look, Maren still radiated elegance, sitting comfortably on the couch with her laptop and papers. Astrid’s gaze softened.

"Astrid moved towards her, peering down at the designs on Maren’s laptop. A gentle smile played on her lips. "These are beautiful," she cooed.

Maren’s eyes met Astrid’s, a flicker of warmth in their depths. "Thanks," she replied.

Astrid’s expression turned concerned. "Have you been taking care of yourself? Eating the right foods, the right amount?"

Maren’s gaze dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I only ate once today. I think the food should be a balanced one for my diet."

Maren brow furrowed. "And your medication? Are you taking it as prescribed?"

Astrid swallow was audible, her eyes clouding over. "I...I haven’t taken any today," she admitted, her voice laced with guilt.

Astrid’s expression softened, understanding etched on her face. She knew Maren was right but stress about her mother’s situation had taken a toll.

Maren glared up from her laptop, frustration etched on her face. "I will do my best for you, so you can lose weight. Don’t you want to prove them wrong?"

Astrid looked up, her eyes meeting Maren’s. "You don’t have to blame me. I have my reasons for struggling."

Then Astrid’s voice softened. "I’m sorry. It won’t happen again."

Astrid’s gaze dropped. "You sure it won’t repeat itself? Or will you just freak out and run away for a while before getting back on track?"

Maren’s eyes locked onto Astrid’s. "Yes, I will. No one truly knows what anyone’s going through. I will do my best with the tools I have, and if I can’t, I will let it go. All I need is the courage to love myself."

Astrid took a deep breath, her expression empathetic. "I may not be straightforward, but I care about you as a friend. It hurts me to see you hiding things from me."

Maren’s voice trembled. "You don’t expect me to share my problems when I don’t even know who’s willing to stand by me."

Astrid’s eyes filled with compassion. "You must be so pissed off. I am sorry I blew up without considering your feelings." Maren let out.

"Thank you, Maren."

Astrid exited the room, walking up the stairs.

Julian appeared at the door, his brow furrowed. "What happened to her?" he asked.

Maren turned to him, concern etched on her face. "What have you done to her?"

Julian shrugged, confusion written across his face.

Maren’s gaze lingered on Julian before returning to the stairs, her thoughts swirling with worry.
