Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare -
Chapter 70: METTING WITH THE ADAMS
Chapter 70: METTING WITH THE ADAMS
FEW HOURS BEFORE THE SHOW
Julian stormed out of Astrid’s room, feeling stupid and guilty for forcing himself on her and still finding fault.
He shut his eyes, frustration etched on his face and took a deep breath.
But his moment was short-lived when he felt a presence before him.
"Your parents are mad you aren’t in the meeting yet, despite waiting for two hours," Miles said, his voice laced with amusement, as he raised his phone.
Julian’s eyes snapped open, and he winced. "Oh..." He recalled his scheduled meeting and cursed under his breath.
He walked past Miles but stopped and turned back, his expression darkening. "Wait, you are still going to wait for her?" Miles smirked.
"I heard you made sure to destroy the lives of those men," Miles said, a snicker playing on his lips, not responding to his question
Julian’s confusion deepened, and his brow furrowed. "The ones from two nights ago?"
Miles nodded, his grin widening. "If you are going to be stupid with your love, drop it. I told you..."
Julian’s anger boiled over, and he grabbed Miles’ collar, his voice trembling. "Don’t test my patience, Miles."
Miles’ eyes widened, surprised by Julian’s outburst. "Why exactly are you getting furious? You don’t love..."
Julian’s face twisted in rage, and he punched Miles, his fist connecting with a sickening thud.
"Again, I will repeat it, she is my wife. Whoever I love is none of your concern. She is mine. Cross your limit again, and I wouldn’t mind that you are my friend."
Miles stumbled back, massaging his jaw, his eyes narrowing.
"Your parents are waiting," he reminded Julian, his tone measured.
Julian’s frustration mounted, his anger still simmering. He knew he couldn’t chase Miles out of the mansion.
"I will take care of you when I get back," he growled, storming into his car.
As Julian sped away, Miles watched him, a mix of concern and curiosity etched on his face.
A few minutes later Julian’s car pulled up in front of the meeting vicinity.
He alighted from the car and was directed straight to where his parents were waiting for him.
"Good morning," he greeted as he walked in, but stopped on his track, seeing the Adams on their seat also.
"See who decided to show up after so much stupidity and also make us wait so long for him," Tonia let out annoyed.
Julian had his seat and then Becky noticed her son’s face.
"What happened to your face?" she asked, directing the four lads’ eyes on him. Only then did he recall Astrid had slapped him this morning.
"Nothing," he replied, placing his hands on her face and massaging it.
"It looked like someone slapped you?" Becky added and then he shook his head.
"No... nothing happened let’s just begin with the meeting," But then Becky’s eyes widened still not letting go.
"Did Mattie do this, because she is the only one you are stupidly in love with to allow that to happen,"
"Honey... let it go..." Desmond, Julian’s dad spoke out for the first, he is a man of few words but dangerous, even sometimes his son fears him.
He doesn’t have a good relationship with his father, but he still tries his best to always make his father proud.
One thing he hated most was getting on his father at the wrong time.
"Son... you came late to a very important meeting, what do you think we can do to you?" Zach Mattie’s dad asked.
"He might have his reasons," Becky responded, her voice laced with understanding, knowing how seriously her son took his job.
"Adams is stepping out of this collaboration thing," Zach announced.
Julian’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at Tonia and her husband.
"Why all of a sudden?" he asked, his tone incredulous.
"There’s nothing we should be collaborating about," Tonia spat, her eyes blazing. "You don’t want my daughter anymore... and our information was leaked." She glared at Julian.
"To top that, you are letting the culprit go, slapping us in the face?" Tonia’s voice dripped with venom.
Julian rubbed his forehead, searching for patience. "Tonia, don’t you think you’re taking this too far? We have been partners and friends for a long time."
Becky intervened, her tone bitter. "Friends? They could have adjusted it, but you follow the word of the man of God!"
Tonia’s expression turned icy. "It’s Mrs. Adams to you now!" she snapped, leaving Becky speechless.
Julian’s eyes narrowed. "What’s going on? You’re acting as if—"
"You have been spending a considerable amount of time with her, ensuring she’s living well!" Zack glared, his accusation hanging in the air as he stared at Desmond.
Becky smiled wryly. "We have been friends, Tonia. I’m doing this for your sake—"
Tonia scoffed, her laughter laced with disdain. "For my sake? Are you crazy? You’re doing this to protect your son’s interests!"
Becky’s head snapped to Julian. "Enough, please. No collaboration is getting called off. Everything will be back to normal after a year." Julian announced.
"Well, we accept we no longer want to partner with you!" Becky announced jerked by their behavior.
Julian’s eyes locked onto his mother’s, surprise etched on his face. "What?"
Tonia stood, her voice firm. "Our partnership is over. We can’t trust you." Her husband nodded in agreement.
Becky sighed, her shoulders sagging. "Fine. If that’s how you feel then so be it,"
"Mum, you know how much I love Mattie, a stupid marriage won’t make my heart waver!" This made the whole table sling for some minutes.
Julian felt some weird feeling as he let out those words, "Did he mean them? Or only trying to appease the Adams?"
"Julian?"
"Mum, please! I am only going with this marriage because of you," Desmond took in a deep breath as Mattie’s dad also came forward.
"If that is what you say then, you need to punish whoever leaked the information." he butt into the conversation.
"Dad,"
"It has always been the ritual, why are you letting this go?" Zach asked, seeing the hesitation in Julusn’s eyes.
"We are at fault here and we still need Adam in the collaboration so, so you need to do the right thing," Desmond supported, and Julian took in a deep breath, as he stomped his fist on the deck.
"Mattie is behind it, would you be okay if I punish her?" The whole table went silent immediately.
"What do you mean?? Mattie doesn’t even work in your company, why would she?" Tonia’s voice cracked.
"To set Astrid up, if I am right.." Becky’s voice held a taunting sound.
The reason he had this from Astrid was so he wouldn’t hurt her feelings.
He found out from Manny after driving her to talk and had decided to let it go.
"So go on with the punishment," Desmond announced and they all glanced at him.
"What? That is my daughter!" Zack exclaimed and this made Desmond snicker.
"Astrid is also the daughter of Josh Daniel," Julian was stunned at how his dad already knew her dad.
"What?"
"You wanted to cut off this collaboration because you are collaborating with Josh’s company if I am right?" Julian’s eyes flickered in shock.
"De... Desmond.."
"Well, he will decline and when we cut off collaboration with us it will have a big effect on you," Desmond affirmed.
"Desmond! What did you do!"
"He is my son’s father In law... we are bound and are family even though it would be for a year,"
"Dad!"
"At first I am reconsidering because you are a close friend and also the fault had come from us," his hands tapped the table as he smirked.
"But I was wrong, your daughter had purposely leaked it despite knowing the stake at the ground,"
"Desmond?"
"I could sue your family for breach of contract, I could destroy you, but I would let this go because you are my friend," Desmond smirked standing from his seat.
"Stop Mattie from modeling any brand of jewelry from us abs also.." Desmond’s eyes bore into that of Julian’s eyes.
"Your wife..." he let out, "Bring her home, I need to have some conversations with her."
"What? Why..." Julian’s concern grew immediately, at the thought of his father wanting to chat with her.
"She is my daughter-in-law... we are family, we need to share some conversation." Julian nodded his head.
Desmond walked out of the meeting room leaving Becky with others.
"You are unbelievable! We will get back at you for this!" Tonia yelled as she pulled her husband up and stormed out of the room.
"Mum... this isn’t supposed to go this way, it’s my company, I should be able to make decisions," Becky exhaled sharply.
"Your father still hasn’t fully handed it to you,"
"Mum! Are you going to make Mattie a laughing stock?" Julian exclaimed. Becky patted her son’s shoulder as she smiled lightly.
"When you stop being blind, you will thank your father for this day."
